The sentiment is too funny to waste on such trivialities as sanity or common sense, though :\/\>I obviously meant that with the unspoked 'with common sense.' :/Anyone can do anything. Literally.I couldn't stop myself
Funny thing I've researched (ok, inferred from medical data): Men are naturally 'stronger' than women (due to hormones and all, puberty, and the development of the body...), but how strong they are is relative--muscle mass and such; it was a general assumption which exploded into a common belief despite the details being sketchy, though as a general fact there was little difference between what labors can be done by either sex, just the body build being different (differences also lie in the skeletal structure).I couldn't stop myself
Sad thing in my opinion: these beliefs began to become a statement of 'what you can/cannot do'...despite as a whole-it doesn't make sense to classify by such.
..
*points to something summarzing all of this*^Gender roles are pure bullshit, plain and simple. If we spent more time doing what we wanted, instead of what other people want us to do, the world would be a much happier place.
Yeah, this is really one of those issues where not caring enough about your fellow man is the problem, not caring too much.
Anyone can do anything. Literally.
I've honestly never read any of Mcaffrey's stuff. Didn't she write something about an alien that was basically 'HUMAN BUT WITH A UNICORN HORN'?That was Axe Cop.
((You'll look back at this after a while and laugh.))((Also, how is a 30 man force going to take down an invasion fleet equipped with OtG bombing systems and a field army of infantry? Or do we have access to the population of Hephaestus and their resources?))
((Say hello to Hephaestus' Neo-Magistrate (at least until the war is over): Simulacrus Aurea-Inanis, my own character. We've got the population, the resources, and all of the factory equipment. We'll be making infantry of our own, plus some other special surprises for the fleet and associated groundpounders.
Helps they likely won't engage in Ortillery operations, though - 1, they think this is a worker revolt (until we reveal ourselves, that is). 2, they'll want this planet intact. 3, our laser batteries will slag anything they try tossing at us, and the ships themselves if they stray too close.
Also, OOC thread would be a good idea, but for one potential snarl: OOC from one thread being cut across by OOC from another, and the other cutting across the last one yet again. Just a potential illiteracy issue, since there's usually multiple conversations on in different threads and combining them could excaberate that.
Also, this thread was once the OOC thread as well as the On-Ship thread. We're a growing monster, worse than Xan. Especially since we'll probably have a dedicated engineering thread soon enough.))
Keith finishes with...Glad you support my political platform.
"And basically that's why I think that public executions should be brought back."
Pfft. Real parents use the Elevated Overarm Piledriver mode of baby burping.Taking this.
