The Killing Joke: This feat grants the bearer the forbidden knowledge of the best joke in the world. While it has the side effect of warping their sanity, it renders the bearer immune to mind-controlling effects, and any Go Mad From The Revelation type of things (usually caused by Outsiders, or Renn's ALL THE PORN attack.) Additionally, the person can, once a day, tell the Best Joke In The World to one person who they can sense, causing the person to collapse into uncontrollable convulsions of shrieking laughter, rendering them entirely helpless. Upon recovering, the person only has a vague memory of something hilarious having happened. Low-level characters may even die as a result of hearing The Best Joke In The World.

I sort of agree, but my limited experience as a dictator via the Tropica games tells me tourism is actually quite lucrative over time, should you be able to attract Yanquis to yourislandpeninsula.
I guess the real question is what they'll do with the money if it does pan out. Hopefully the answer isn't "more statues."
