I was reading a hypothetical scenario where the Imperium from 40k goes back in time to kill the Federation from Star Trek for whatever reason, and the 40k supporters were going all 'LOLSTOMPPWNZ' and it got me to wondering ...
The Federation originates from Earth. It could be seen as the precursor civilization to the 40k Age of Technology, with Data being an early Man of Iron.
Thus, if this big warmongering civilization from 20,000 years in the future suddenly appears and begins crushing the Federation, it's my opinion that the Federation would win, discounting the Q, the Traveler, and all those guys.
Who else lived on Earth during this time?
The very same corpse that sits on the throne of Terra in the 41st Millenium - the God-Emperor of Mankind.
It has been stated multiple times on the various 40k wikis that the GEoM is 'horrified' at the state which the Imperium has come to. Ergo, if the Imperium goes back in time to kill the Federation, they won't just go to war ... they'll go to war with their own Emperor fighting against them.
Imperium's beat, man.
