So, blowing up the base just to kill the Thing for once and for all is basically the same as getting a high enough score to break the game. Thus, you have now reached the mindset of Macready.

The ultimate point is that if you shoot hypothetical asteroids anywhere else other than Antarctica, you're fucked.

Point is they never had a game of Asteroids where the asteroids grew back to full size after you shot them and they replicated.

I recommend the Jade Falcon Trilogy. You should probably read one or two Battletech novels and surf their wiki for a bit to get the full experience otherwise you won't know at all whats happening. Once you get into it its just as good (if not better than) WH40K novels. It has a very rich and deep in-universe culture. I've been reading them since I was little and still haven't even scratched the surface.

Alpha Centauri was released in 1999 and the planet being an organism is central to the development of what plot there is within a campaign, so call it somewhere in 1998 at the latest.

I was going to mention that, but I wanted to see where Xantalos was going.

Basically an intelligent Grey Goo thing, but purple. And it formed a civilization and was going to be revealed to be all of the planets in the galaxy and stuff but I got bored after trying to write it and ending up explaining everything that happened in the history of the universe.

We built the pyramids. Not aliens.

It was a really bad idea that I had once that ended up with there only being one fuckhuge life form in the galaxy that had trillions of split personalities so they became different shapes and stuff.
