Elementary school shooting in Connecticut, 27 dead including 18 kids.
I hope the NRA keeps their goddamn fucking traps shut. If I so much as see one instance of "Well, if only those kids had been armed..." I'm going to rip somebody's brain out through their asshole and then feed it to them.

« on: December 14, 2012, 12:46:36 am »In my experience, weights in martial arts training are most often used for training speed or explosive power. For example:I do remember these. I actually kicked myself in the face when we took them off and started regular kicks again.
1) Punching bag speed work done with dumbells held in each hand. For example, 5 pound dumbbells, punch the bag as fast as you can for 60 seconds.
2) Ankle weights used for jumping drills. 5-10 pounds strapped to each ankle, then jump in and out of a pit.
3) Ankle weights used for kicking speed and leg flexibility training. 5 pounds on each ankle and do crescent kicks.
To give you an idea...imagine doing bench press where the goal is not to move more weight, and not to move weight a lot of a times...but to move the weight as fast as you can.
