From another viewpoint, he's never been more alive.I know about her origin, although whether or not she can be considered Xan is debatable.Although she's arguably one of the newest characters, you might want to include Vanessa as a fleshtech/transhuman.Uh. You do know Vanessa is Xan in disguise, right?
He/it of course subscribes to the latter interpretation, more or less.
But she/he/it is working toward the goals Xan set for himself so long ago, retains all of Xan's memories, and is pretty much only disguising him/her/itself as Vanessa to achieve one of those goals. Whether Vanessa becomes a real person entirely depends on some things that happen when that goal is achieved.
That's all far off in the future though.
