From what I recall Behemoth smashed straight into Ultramar, might have roughed up a few other places first, but basically ran right into Maccrage and got completely annihilated there, at the cost of basically crippling the Ultramarines for at least several centuries afterwards. Sure the tyranids got killed, but they literally ran out of ammunition. Takes a lot to make a fortress world in goddamn 40k do that.

Hive Fleet Kraken, on the other hand, split up into a billion different splinter fleets that took goddamn forever to deal with, and then Leviathan came from below the galactic plane and could only be stopped by exterminatusing a shitload of planets to deny them other avenues to go and then luring them straight into a large Ork empire, which may or may not catastrophically backfire.

Then there's the speculation that those three were only the vanguard for the actual Tyranid fleet, which, well ... another hypothetical.

He likely is, the Altered have been hinted for a while now to be space god's attempt at getting its soul/child/something important to it back, which is hidden in a particular system, likely Phobetor, wherever that is. Doc is something else.

Honestly I think it was Doc's cell thing that gave Steve the idea for Green Storm.
Doc Storm would probably be a bit more permanent though.

M15 went as such, if I remember correctly:
Team lands
Team drives to anomaly site and scouts it out
Stacy interrupts digging efforts by HEPing a giant hole straight down into the ship
Team investigates boxes, Dubley develops alien bees box paranoia and nearly kills some people before being annihilated
STAN
Orbital bombardment while team runs away
Remaining team steals scientist vehicle and drives away

Depending on what exactly Xan was, and what his capabilities were really (if only I could've mastered doing breaking the laws of conservation of mass I needed more willpower) I think he was a 'successful' example of a space godlike thingy.
Admittedly, Doctor, but still.

Gonna see if I can't have a talk with him after this mission...
