And, you're thinking too small. Why not make a special battlesuit-grade body for Exo specialists that is essentially a T-X terminator? Or merely a braincase surrounded by the same material with an adaptive colour changer that will allow it to morph into anything (want to run? become a 4 legged animal for the added speed. Or even make wheels or cause the material to float and fly if you have the concentration for it. Someone grabbed you? Become an urchin. etc.)

You are right about Xan ought to have been tossed in a furnace severl times over Honestly I was surprised that people were willing to go so out of their way to preserve the fucker.

That decision won't wholly be regretted.
