When fighting my way up an infernomancer tower, I could not get past the first floor as I couldn't go up the stairs. Is that vanilla or the mod? Also, falming zombies seem to be composed entirely of ribs. I've killed six and already tallied ~50 ribs from the remains.

Werebeastism is a curse, but it lets you recover form a broken back, so it's pretty cool, and the caverns are random; try looking around more, but some are devoid of life while others are teeming.

We are in a pond, and you know what breeds in ponds? Mosquitoes. Also known as insects which routinely extract blood from and inject chemicals into humans and animals without anyone taking much notice.
We can't inject ourselves, only preprogrammed parasites.
But I think we can have the copies extract blood (containing DNA in the white blood cells) and bring it back to us. And you would be surprised at what simple parasites can accomplish.
Heh, Planet Earth. But anyways, yeah, good idea, only how would the parasite get to us? Or would it be basically the Thing-style, and al of a sudden we get like 50 bazillion biomass?

Holy crap. I just asked a kid about his family and he said: My father was Human McPantsman. In 2, he married Missy McPacman. This is the year 200. He still says he's two, but I just found a child vampire.

EDIT: Ohshit he's a master vampire from FTN mod! F***f***f***f***f***!!!
DOUBLEEDIT: Everyone but the kid is dead...within 30 seconds RL...

All good. Perhaps if enough dwarves were devout followers of God A in DorfPaddles the fortress, and/or a big enough temple had been designated, the god will send avatars of him/her/it, like the suggestions from all the 'angel' threads here? The bigger the temple, the bigger the boon, and it would be based around the god's sphere, eg a god of healing would heal all your dwarfs in a battle or something, and a god of fire would cause magma to rain from the heavens. Likewise, if you disrespect a god's sanctum, in fortress or adventure mode, the god would curse you, for instance the god of life would mutate you (adventurer) or a random dwarf to have constant severe pain or fevers or whatever.

A person mods in Batmen as playable adventurers.
Uses nonlethal combat to go exclusively after bandits/criminals.
Gains a massive reputation, becomes a hero.
Posts thread.
First line, "I made batman in DF."

If this doesn't happen I am going to be disappointed.

I would say stay in the pond for now. Repopulate it with photosynthesizing plants and leave them here long term as a fortified "base" if you will that basically does nothing but sit here and generate energy. Also, since the human seems to like feeding the fish, make some fish for him to feed.

Hoard energy and biomass for a few days, then form scout organisms to hunt elsewhere.
This could work, like having an expanding network of bases, eventually being connected via an interlocking bioconnection thing, a la creep from Starcraft. But I'm thinking too far into the future. Change my plan from the first two to this one, with a modified version of the antfish, or possibly catbeasts to scout.

Then until someone improves on this, here is plan:

Get rid of all purely water-based adaptations and grow big leg(insect) using modify DNA, and modify the antfishes as well, i.e get rid of gills, fins, and add legs and wings. Do this with insecticarp as well, so remove fins, swim blader, gills...etc. Obviously move onto land (into hiding preferably) while we do so. Or plan B, turn into a swarm of cell blobs and regroup somewhere outside of the pond, then modify.

Not that that'll be any trouble what with being a 1m long insecticarp thst has a swarm of acid-biting antfish that could be modified to go on land.
