Though I've yet to experience any of the upsides, so I can't provide a good analysis of it.

Not entirely sure what age/grade/whatever you're at, but assuming you're in high school from various things, it grows into most of them by a certain age. Normally in the few years after graduation is the earliest time I've seen it.

I think he primarily means Miya's Avatar, but yeah.

That was a very interesting link, @Solifuge. I'm honestly surprised I haven't run across it before, to be honest.
I probably will end up following your advice at some time in the future, likely in the next few months or so when I can find an excuse for it. It'll hurt a little bit to sit on it for that long, but the last time this happened I just sat on my feelings for around 2 or 3 years until they went away so at least I have a little experience with that sort of thing.
Funny enough I'd have been perfectly happy remaining friends but then apparently some aspect of my subconscious decided to cast Obsession or something.

Might be nice to have a team-mate who isn't in some way a psychopath and instead just really really patriotic about this new rebel movement they have just started knowing about.

I'm not sure whether to make my next potential character from an ARM planet or an inmate if Xan ever permadies.
