Roll To Dodge / Re: Special People: IN SPACE!

Alan hems and haws momentarily. "Well, I could make us a mentos rocket to blast over the wall with. Or a big trampoline to jump over it. Or we could do that hose cart thing again, that was fun.
...
I suppose I can make ladders too if we wanna be boring and stuff."

He shrugs. "What d'you think?"

This might seem a little facetious, but...
Quote
Imperium and Tau want selfish propagation of their own race.
True.
Quote
Eldar just kinda exist, and also want to create literal God of Death (which they apparently kinda are succeding in) to take venegance on Chaos by murdering everything that moves.
They want to create Ynnead so it can kill Slaanesh and they can rebirth their gods so that they can actually propagate their own race again. Same as the above, just a more roundabout method.
Quote
Chaos just want to let the Galaxy burn.
The more small c chaos there is in the galaxy the more Chaos is strengthened and the more daemons are born. Self-propagation.
Quote
Tyranids just want to eat everything.
So there can be more Tyranids, at the expense of everything else.
Quote
Dark Eldar want to torture and shit to prolong their lives.
You can see where I'm going with this.
Quote
Necrons want to kill everything alive.
If the Necrons kill all life and seal off the warp there won't be anything capable of killing them.
Quote
Orks also want the Galaxy to burn, although just in fighty way.
Orks literally reproduce via battle, the more of them fight and die the more Orks spawn.

Every faction is essentially fighting for survival, they just express it in different ways.

Quote
I mean, fuck, the motives of all of them aren't great either, but at least humanity fights for your own damn race goddamnit. For you.
I can respect that opinion, but at the same time the whole point of a fictional setting is that I'm not obligated to sympathize with the human faction because I myself have a human body.

Ultimately it boils down to what type of narrative you like better, it seems. Kot likes a humanocentric narrative that has the ultimate struggle of 40k at its core to be human, and what that means. Grim prefers a, well, grimdark view on the setting, where it's an excersise in mutual evil, and the only difference in morality between most factions is not the scale of their horrificness, because everyone is equally bad, but their reasons for doing so. I think both are valid views, just not at the same time.

This is amazing why have I not found it sooner

The solution here is to get access to a space craft and GTFO. The planet gets eaten, but there's tons of those things and humans only get one life.
* You have been bitten by a genestealer
Well hey, then I get arguably one of the better existences in 40k as a first-generation thrall of a patriarch. I'll be dead long before the cult comes to fruition on a new world or its existence is uncovered by imperial authorities.

591
Y'all dumb for relying on the gods, the solution here is to get access to a space craft and GTFO. The planet gets eaten, but there's tons of those things and humans only get one life.

592
My sympathies for the extended hospital visit; hopefully whatever issue caused that has been rectified.

And heck yeah I'm still interested.

How does abbadon fight off those challenges with no arms
He's become very adept at kicking things in the dick.

Oh, I figured that since the distraction wasn't needed right now, Alan was going to momentarily be sensible for the later chance of greater calamity. Nevertheless, I planned to go with an Alan classic to properly welcome the restarting of this game back: a boombox and a few megaphones that I can tape to said boombox, all several sizes larger than normal.

Gak grumbles at being made to do things, not that he wouldn't enjoy doing some of them probably, but being told to do it cramps his style.

Let's see where this goes, shall we? Be reasonably cooperative for the moment.

Maybe something that makes a lot of noise?

It's like he doesn't even know who he's dealing with.

Alan stares off into the distance and giggles faintly. "Yeah, I can do something like that, my bucko. Very much indeedy."

Make sure Brad knows what he's getting himself into.

((Paris, could you PM me the skill tree thing of Alan's? I've lost the PM you sent me originally and I've forgotten which points I've put into what areas.))

Daniels shakes his head. Technically in a metaphorical sense since he was inside his own head, though if he shook his head here that could theoretically be classified as a head-

No, Jack. Stop contemplating shit, you came here for a reason. Get minder training later.

Call a collection of disciples over to me. Show each one of them a technique or maneuver Shores instructed me to do in my training session with her, and instruct them to practice that one specific technique in view of the statue. Since this is within my own mind, this will hopefully translate to greater mastery of Move Like This for me without having to spend endless amounts of time practicing on my part.

Gak cackiggles, a strange and stupid-sounding amalgam of cackling and giggling.

"And so I escape with no consequences once again! Fufufufufu!"

Go scamper around until I find some seedy lowlife tavern or something akin to it. Mayhaps I'll find clues to where the hell my crew went on the way.

Yes, Gak is entirely unaware that the guy in the courtroom was one of his teammates.

Alan's eyes temporarily become windows into infinity. His face grows haggard and his cheeks hollow to a near skeletal state as a terrified wheezing moan trickles out of his lungs, growing over the next thirty or so seconds into a steady "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-" before it abruptly cuts off and he returns to normal like nothing ever happened. "Sorry about that, bud, just rebooted my consciousness after being frozen in the timeless abyss of endless eternity for two and a half seconds there," he cheerily explains. He takes hold of the bottle of alcohol and uses a splash or two to wash his face for some reason. "Anyway, yeah sounds fun! What d'ya think we should do first, bucko?"

Alan agrees to participate in this new friend's fiendish devilry (without having any real understanding of the implications, of course)!
