I'm every bit as human as you are! Sure, I may not have a body but my spirit isn't too dissimilar to yours - we both have a fighting spirit, people we've hated, people we've loved, and we both have Spiral power. If I didn't then I wouldn't truly be human, only a pale imitation.
I don't think too much about why I fight for humanity, though. If I considered that, I'd question the things I've done, the things I've yet to do, and wonder if they were all worth it. I can't let myself think like that - I've come too far to doubt my path.

Theoretically the best way to forestall the Spiral Nemesis would be to wipe out all other Spiral life forms, seal away our populace so they can't generate any Spiral energy, and keep watch to make sure no one uses Spiral pow-wait a minute that's what the Anti-Spirals did.

Have you never been in a war with Spirals before? We don't buckle our society, we reshape it, into a burning spear that blazes past all opposition! How do you think they got into power? he asks, indicating Leeron and Rossiu. They were part of the revolution that brought down Lordgeonome and the Anti-Spiral. Thus they were elevated into power. We aren't crushed by war, far from it. We thrive on a fight.

That's not exactly a bad thing, we just need to devote some of it to stopping the Spiral Nemesis.

Actually, I remember it more now. Nemesis was the result of creating so much extra matter with Spiral power that the universe collapsed into a black hole. All we need to do is permanently destroy a sufficient amount of matter proportional to the rate at which new matter is being created.

That was with the death of the Anti-Spiral that it exploded. Point being, the only way to get anything done is to get in a big ol' fight. Ao, I didn't fight for anything but war itself. I fight to fight. Look, if we make it a defensive war, manipulate another nation to attack us first, would you feel better about it? It's the only way to release the buildup of Spiral energy. It's happening now that there's no big fight going on, so it must be building up in people somehow.

There, they get it! And the best way to generate massive amounts of Spiral power in your populace quickly is with a war and lots and lots of propaganda. What's the closest nonhuman polity? The closer in military strength to us the better.
