Bay 12 Games Forum

I've been here for three. That is to say, since I was eleven. Holy shit I'm glad I didn't say anything too stupid. That said, I encourage people to avoid my earlier posts. I'll probably be saying the same thing a couple of years down the line about present me, assuming I'm still on the forums.

Think back to your younger self and realize that said younger self was probably thinking 'man, I'm going to look back at this in the future and think 'what a dumbass".
Then realize you were a smart dumbass.
At least that's what I did.

Well yeah, that's how the evolution of a forum member goes.
They get attracted to Bay12 because of DF and hang around on the upper boards for a while. Then they discover the existence of the lower boards, usually when on a break from DF. They're hooked over the span of a few days, and generally proceed to explore all over the place - GD, Other Games, FG&RP, etc. Then as they age as a lower boarder, they gradually shrink into one or two subforums, and only a very specific range of topics. Over a period of many years, they gradually recede away from Bay12, emerging from their internet cocoon like a butterfly.
Then a new DF version comes out and the process starts all over again.
