Also, get some ranged weapons like bow & arrows, or javelins. Apparently animals don't have fatigue levels as of yet.
Are you serious? You mean the only time I actually killed an animal (an elk) in this game by chasing them for almost a day straight pelting them with rocks was actually a result of luck and not a demonstration of how humans are the superior long distance runners?

Yeah, it's really annoying.  I'm not sure about this, but if you wound the animal severely they definitely seem to slow down.  Note I'm not talking about bleeding wounds, which are pretty much guaranteed death for NPC's and animals.

Downloaded .2c, still cannot proceed past loading screen.  Forced to ctrl-alt-delete close the program.  Windows 7 laptop.

Downloaded .1.1 and it doesn't work.  Specifically, I can load the first screen and see text like "new game, load game, quit, etc."  However, I can only scroll up and down the list.  I can't move to the next screen or even quit the game.  I'm forced to CTRL-ALT-DELETE to get out of game.

I'm running Windows 7 on a wide screen laptop 1366x768.  I wonder if the resolution is a problem, because I can't resize the screen either.  Can someone tell me what the "normal" key to select new game is?

Yeah it's a bit broken playing on the defensive on the siege.  Especially if you have enough assault rifles - you can fight off waves of SWAT or mercenaries without really breaking a sweat.

Unlike persuasion, seduction goes up very quickly when you fail at delivering a pickup-line.  Actually successfully getting a date is kinda bad - because you can't grind seduction as easily.  If you have two dates on the same day, you have the potential to get beat up, lowering your juice.

Lords of the realm has you managing wheat, cows, and sheep.  It's more of a strategy game, with successful farm management integral to winning the game.

This game is finally out I've been waiting for this for years!

It's not over!  You still got a month to bust him out of the prison (or re-education camp).  I always try for the rescue, even if it gets half my squad killed, including the liberal that was rescued.

It seems that when the Feds come and lay siege to your safehouse they give up way too easily.  I have 20+ liberals wearing army body armor with assault rifles, and they are basically invincible on the defensive.  With that much firepower, I have a 100% chance of fully wiping out a 6-man government SWAT team on the first attack.

The government comes, lays siege, and runs away when their assault team fails.  For both balance and realism reasons, it doesn't make sense for government to back off after a failed assault.  If anything, they would dig their heels in and throw waves of tanks at me until they could wipe out my large squad.  I mean, if they were willing to use fighter jets, why would they then back away and allow my liberals to move around freely before laying siege again?

Teaser for the next update: fans of Junji Ito may be delighted.

I'm pretty excited about this update! Junji Ito is probably my favorite horror manga artist.  Ironically, I think one of his best work is the self-parody comedy series about evil cats.

Damn, would anyone happen to have any strategies for taking out the

There are 4 ways of doing this, arranged from difficult to easy:

to take cargo, you need to kill someone carrying cargo
you mean in personal combat? Can I board a ship or anything?

In space, he meant.  Pirating is like dwarf fortress's adventure mode - incomplete.

- There are too many random and dead-end rooms filled with nothing but the occasional health or mana pot.  The bottom right minimap is actually useless, the rooms are not connected in a logical order.  The doors inside buildings are practically random teleporters.  Reaching a miniboss is a boring slog through five areas, that's way too long.

- It would be nice to be able to destroy the random critter spawn totems (like in the game Gauntlet).  Trudging through a lot of totems through multiple hallways is the opposite of fun.

- The RPS review mentioned permadeath, but there's no permadeath as far as I can see.  Dying just allows you to pick from a random list of 6 candidates with stats dependent on your civilization level.

- As the common complaint goes, the character art does not match the background art.  It is very aesthetically unappealing.

- This game feels exactly like ActRaiser, like someone mentioned previously.  A side-scrolling game where you cut through enemies real-time in order to get goodies to build your civilization.

Anyone has feedback on port royale 2?
It's like a slower version of Patrician. If you played Patrician you won't enjoy this
Correction: If you played Patrician and liked it you won't enjoy this.

People who like Patrician tend to dislike Port Royale and vice versa.

New suggestion: Fort Zombie

Classic zombie apocalypse. You claim a safehouse. Barricade it. Find food, weapons, armors, ammo and help other survivers escape. Pathfinding is horrible but it's a great game.
Yep. fantastic game. Was pretty rough on launch but they've fixed a lot of the problems and now its a lot of fun.
It's a bit laggy on my computer. It can run Crysis just fine but my computer can't endure the perfect graphics of Fort Zombie I guess.

Fort Zombie is one of the greatest games ever created and one of the few games I can excuse the bugs for.
I looked at it a few years ago, and it was apparently buggy as hell (According to reviewers and devs). But that was in alpha or some such, so I may give it an actual play.

There's a huge bug with the latest version of Fort Zombie that I reported about 5 months ago.  The scout skill, which is supposed to reduce the frequency of zombie encounters works in exact opposite.  Like having 0 scout skill gives you 100 effective scout skill, and the reverse as well.  Over time, as the player naturally levels scout through use, MORE zombies are actually encountered.
