DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Why do my humans like the evil ones?

So basically I genned a world for war, picked a dwarven civ that had been warring with a nearby Gobbo civ for 900 years. First time I've embarked with a civ that's at war, nice to see the WAR instead of ....... on Gobbo's :-D (This is the same fort I didn't get a dwarven liaison/caravan the first year, for those that saw the last oddity I posted; same world) (also necro sieges without a tower listed on civs)

Anywho, I'm looking in the civ menu, seeing who all's at war with who(m?), when I noticed selecting humans shows peace with gobbos... and gobbos show peace with humans... What the heck? Gobbo's show war with everyone else, and everyone else shows war with gobbo's... Soo... What's up with the humans? Does this just mean they are in the normal perpetual hostilities, and active war with the others, or are they actually at peace?

EDIT: oh, and kobolds show peace all around, as well. Dunno if that's different.

Presumably, the township of Centralia, Pennsylvania that became practically uninhabitable after the coal vein under it was accidentally set on fire.

Guess I've been lucky, not seen any game breakers in the last few months. Of course, I've yet to mess with a military, I hear that's pretty buggy.

before, noone had wagons, now it's only elf caravans, wagons are in only since 34.01 again, though they were there before tooin earlier versions, I only started playing at 31.25

Ya, that's when I started too, I knew about the wagon bug that got fixed...

I just see wagons coming in all the time, never noticed elves coming in without wagons, that was my confusion.

He said he was doing it, and adding feeding stations so they wouldn't die.

I think he more recently said he was putting the animals on hold for now, not 100% on that last part :p

Really? I've seen several times people jokingly yelled at you for being a Kobold :p

And I've seen several inb4's, as well.

Anywho, on topic, I've not really done much military training, my forts usually only survive 4-5 years before fps drops too far. Trying a lot of fps optimization this fort, 4 years in, still over 100 fps... Usually. About to start military training.

My plan, when I get around to it, is to indeed to weaponless, to try and encourage the non-weapon skills, wrestler, biter, etc. So I'm a kinda yes :p

Toady said it may be difficult to make our millitary ride minecarts.  Perhaps off duty millitary could be persuaded to use a cart to haul some bolts, and then en route they get put back on active duty and get their cart sent out to the entrance hall track?  Activating them will cancel their haul job, so I suppose they might get confused and jump out of the cart.  Toady said they shouldn't, but he might not have tested that particular circumstance.
No, this is the exact scenario he tested for that one devlog post. Result: it works. It's a big micromanagement overhead though, so perhaps not feasible en-masse.

From reading the log, it wasn't that they got confused and jumped off, it was that the dorf dodged the gobbos punch, and when he dodged he landed on the ledge with the gobbo. Otherwise he should have stayed in.

For dump through track, could make a new 3x3 workshop that needs the center tile channeled out. Built in 4 way track intersection, cart leaves same direction it enters.

Well pretend the dorf flips the cart like a skateboard as he goes over ;)

Ya, a 10k Urist roast is easy to get. A few to buy whatever from caravans, and 1 as an offer so the next caravan is bigger. At least, it's how it seems to work for me.

Per 100 dorfs:

6 miners
2 masons
2 mechanics
1 engraver
1 cook
1 farmer
2 weaponsmith
2 armorsmith
4 smelter/furnace operators
1 glassmaker
1 potter
1 brewer
Etc, you get the idea.

I train 1 legendary per 100 in each step of each industry that has an effect of the quality of finished product. The rest are haulers/builders/megaproject miners. The faceless mass performing menial labor that will never be missed when the worst happens. 1 legendary per 100 will pump out far more than you know what to do with, so everyone else just works.
