Semicour 3 (TH 965-966 e-a) - x1
TH-965-966 c - x1

// Not to be picky or anything, it's essentially your game, all things told, but why would you want to mine (this being the first problem in and of itself) something that doesn't even have anything noteworthy on it? (unless you meant one of its moons, in which case I take that back)
// Bay 12, your logic is surprising at times. But I figured that the moment I registered here.

Hm...

Land on TH 965-966 e-a and begin setting up a colony. (We can set up colonies elsewhere later, correct?

// Yes. For all I care you can even visit the previous systems like ROAN-44.

Hm, high volcanic activity (and hence geothermal power) plus metal deposits...TH 965-966 e-a sounds pretty good. We're basically robots, without organic needs or whatever, correct?

"Indeed. We do however transport organic matter in the cargo bay, but there is no explicit need to use it."

// The on-board manufactory also doubles as a small cloning facility, but humans are much more resource dependent than robots, as well all know.

Investigate all four gas giants and their satellites.

// Not sure if I used the term "ice giant" correctly. It's a terrestrial planet, but with extremely low temperatures and ice everywhere. Sorry about that.
// Also, all of the planets in the system orbit both stars in a 8 pattern, should that matter later on in the game.

Any and all kinds of exclusive gameplay-affecting features.
Not necessarily Pay2Win, since, for instance, in Gear Up, while you don't have access to a lot of parts as a free player, you have access to objectively some of the strongest ones in the game. (either intentionally or by lack of balance towards the "free" side of the community)
But then, the free version of Gear Up is more like a "trial version with online gameplay" rather than true pay to win.

I just feel bad for killing people with a tank that's objectively better than any tank that they can make. (luckily the devs aren't deaf to the opinions and balance changes happening in every update)

And I don't even need to tell you how incredible bad and unacceptable true Pay2Win is.

/Land upon Purple dot.

"I'm sorry, Executive, but it is not possible to land on a surface of a gas giant. However, TH 965-966 e (// the purple gas giant) does infact have four natural satellites orbiting it. Should we land on one of these instead?"

// I genuinely thought you would go for the b instead, but whatever, let's see what others think about this.

...F.I.S.T., I assume the shields are not very effective against ballistic weaponry? Other than the hull itself, do we have any countermeasure to being attacked by an assault chaingun or somesuch?

"The shields are easily penetrated by ballistic weaponry, but the adamantium hull, combined with its inclined shape provide protection against low-caliber ballistic projectiles. Missiles, however, the armor-piercing ones in particular, are very damaging. Relatively small size of First Initiative Support Transporters does allow for high maneuverability, however."

// Save your actual actions until we land somewhere. Also, I'm having fun with acronyms.

/ FTL jump destination achieved!
/ Loading stellar map...
/ Success!

// Blue triangle - our F.I.S.T. We're outside of an asteroid belt. Pink blob - the red giant. White blob - white dwarf. Two dots above the red giant are the gas giants of the system (the topmost one is a star outside the system, but closer than the other ones in the background). The adamantium-filled TH 965-966 b ice giant is between the two stars. The last gas giant is the purple dot on the bottom.

/? Where do we go now, what do we do?

What is the energy requirement of maintaining a energy shield around the F.I.S.T. ship under strenuous laser fire?

"This is dependent on the concentration of the laser fire. The shields have relatively low energy tolls until the laser fire becomes very concentrated, such as that of XM4 Spearhead cannons."

// The AI also has some data on "stock" designs so we're not totally stranded. I highly encourage you to come up with your own ideas once we get to that part.

2648
What are the energy requirements of various weapons and defenses, F.I.S.T.? Also, how do we generate energy?

"The energy toll is entirely dependent on the rate at which it is used and its concentration. Systems using energy of low concentration, but high rate will consume it equally as systems using high-concentration, low rate energy banks.
First Initiative Support Transporters generate energy from thermonuclear reactions taking place in the power system's core, but there are many alternative ways, ranging from burning of organic fuel to star panels to nuclear reactions. They however are not native to the F.I.S.T. systems and may not function properly."

// If you screw it up, that is. Properly installed systems will work fine unless something happens later on.
// Also, sorry for me "gradually" making the posts, but I tend to forget things, like in the previous post.

Actually, I can wait for the release.
I am hosting an ASG (link in the sig) and playing two evolution games, so I'm fairly occupied for the time being.

Still though, can't wait for the damn release to come out already. I believe that the only things there are left to do are the finalization of sites (and adding kobold sites), right? Or am I missing something?

2650
Consider the viability of energy shield generaters and the manufacturing capabilities of our current ship.

"The shield generators are capable of withstanding moderate fire from average-power laser weapons, but provide little protection against ballistic missiles with energy-piercing warheads.

F.I.S.T. has basic on-board manufactory located in the rearer end, allowing for creation of basic components such as electronic circuits, cables, small power sources and low-caliber weapons and tools. It is highly advised to construct more advanced facilities in the landing location."

// That's the ship AI voice by the way.

/ Initiating FTL drive...
/ Initiating FTL jump to TH 965-966 Semicour. Estimated travel time - 25 shortcycles. // 25 minutes.

/ Loading trivia program...
/ Success!

"The name of TH 965-966 Semicour comes from a portmanteau of Semigalia and Courland - two historical regions of a former country on Earth, Latvia.

The previous time system consisting of seconds, minutes, hours, days, months and years has been replaced with the system of pulsecycles, shortcycles, cycles, turns, longturns and starturns.  However, light-years are still called light-years, but certain C.O.R.E.s have adapted them to the new system and name them starcycles instead."

/? While the ship is jumping, what do you do?

No jumps allowed. Fire up the regular engines and fly to ROAN-44.

//we will need an emergency ftl jump sooner or later and i just know it'll break down when we arrive

// Not to be picky or anything, but by the time we would get there the normal way the C.O.R.E. Wars (as an event, not as a game) would be probably over...But if you choose to be so and people, then so be it.

// EDIT: It's +3 for Semicour right now, which qualifies it as a valid choice. I'm giving you guys 10 more minutes to eventually change your mind. (since 4 out of 6 people have decided at the moment, and I doubt that anyone new would join)

2653
Initiate Jump to Any Star System
// In other words, +1 to everything?
More "+1 to whatever has the highest vote count at the time of the voting," but either way.

So right now it's +2 for Semicour. (and technically 0 to anything else)

2654
Initiate Jump to Any Star System

// In other words, +1 to everything?

>initiate FTL jump to TH 965-966 Semicour.

>making an FTL jump
>other cores do not agree

// J/K, but on a more serious note, you'd need more players to agree on that.
