I loaded the save and something seems very odd with it. Everything happened just as you described, but when the consort arrived he was attacked and killed by the armorer- the queen died soon after the consort but she was 3 steps away from him the entire time, never fought, and was never attacked. My guess: she dies from heartbreak.

I've not had any yet, but have not played enough for it to be conclusive. I can tell you that necromancers in legends are being killed off too early to write books and they have no significant activities. It may be the case that would-be necromancer producing civs are getting sieges and fail to pass their knowledge. Unless you can mod towers in after world gen its going to be difficult to have a world with both the added civs/invaders as well as normal necromancy.

You sure? The download seems to be working when I test it out. Kinda slow though

Got it, sorry about that. Just had to wait for the site to spare some bandwidth I guess. Cant wait to start the adventure of becoming a master necromancer in a land full of necromancer peasants! Are there any significant modifications to this gen or is it vanilla?

To answer your question, the most I have had in a world is 5. The difficulty of a world seems to be inversely proportional to the number of towers (with Fort Defense Mod or Masterwork Mod often giving me no towers at all with all civs and races enabled).

The current FD Mod seems to cause necromancer towers to not ever be built. I have seen this with both the Masterwork mod as well as in worlds I gen using FD (bonus and challenge enabled). Any ideas why this might be?

Edit: Seems that necromancers are just as weak to the increased difficulty level as the dorfs. Very hard to get them be built at all but with the right settings and a bit of luck it is possible.

You must find a necromancer's tower and start a fortress near it in order to get necromancer lead attacks. Necromancer Towers appear as an 'I' (Purple 'I') on the world map.

I have generated several worlds but not one has had a necromancer tower in it. I checked legends and necromancers exist but none have written books or inhabited towers- in fact they have not done much of anything at all.

I wonder if this problem is also related to SalmonGod and aantn's findings of docile civs.

Edit: Seems that this is related to the difficulty increase from this mod and FD. With the right settings and a bit of luck it is possible to still get the towers to be built.
