On a completely unrelated note, I set up my air conditioner so the heat no longer makes me miserable 24/7. :P

On an unrelated note, I have a penpal! A friend in Poland I've been communicating with for some time. It's really made the last part of my semester so much more bearable when I had someone I could talk to about everything.

Guys, you're all clearly ignoring important points, like Meat == Delicious. Why can't arguments think about the important issues?
Try looking at the number of fucking health issues caused by consuming meat sometime, might inspire you to pull your head out of your arse.
Although it probably won't... if you need medical reasons to convince you that consuming meat is a bad thing to begin with, it's probably wedged pretty firmly up there. :)
You remind me of a pamphlet vegans gave me once.

It had a list of celebrity backers. One of whom was totally sold on Veganism, another was Bill Clinton who explicitly described it as being required due to some heart condition, and the last was some entitled celebrity singer or whatever who said something like "I get that meat is bad. If you choose to allow yourself to realize this, you'll get it too."

Apparently, I didn't choose to allow myself to realize this since it didn't sell me on veganism.

It's worth bearing in mind that, in Watergate, Spiro Agnew resigned before he did, and he appointed a new one (Gerald Ford). I'm not sure what would happen to Pence.

I just don't want someone pardoning Trump and his administration.

Not knives. I've never been quite that Just... plastic. Plastic can be really sharp when you chew on it, incidentally.

My tendency to play around with small-to-medium sized objects in my mouth very nearly led me to stab myself in the throat/head/something by accident. It did, in fact, move hard/fast enough to just barely cut the far end of my mouth/throat (something), but was short enough that it stopped there.

Not doing that again.

There's nothing the US can do. Legally embassy personnel can do whatever they want. Example: In 1984, Libyan personnel from their embassy in Britain open fired on protestors there, killing a British Constable.

On tech, two words:

Void Dragon.

If anything does happen, it will be because there is a qualitative difference about what the most recent Comey thing: it looks very much like obstruction of justice. The Comey firing, in-and-of-itself, isn't shady; it's only shady contextually. The Flynn thing is different, which changes coverage/reactions. More importantly, perhaps, it's not so much "if the accusation is right, Trump is stupid/dumb/evil/lazy/lying/etc" as "If the accusation is right, Trump might be impeached."

Upside: we're getting launch loops, bitches!
Downside: I'll be running a side project using orbital platforms to sterilize Florida, New Jersey, Ohio, and Southern California.
Uhh Max? You seemed to have messed up your comment here. You accidentally put two upsides and no downsides.

I dunno if Trump was stupid for telling the Russians. That ISIS plot might have involved the lives of Russian soldiers in Syria and thought he could win a favor from them.[

If the situation was reversed, say Iran told Russia about a plot that threatened Americans (but promise not to tell anyone!) would it be okay if it went through and the US discovered Russia knew but declined to tell them?
I don't understand how that's a reversal of this situation. We don't know if whatever plot that was being discussed even involves the lives of Russian soldiers, so your example is just speculation. Maybe the plot specifically is aimed at Americans, or Israelis, or the damn moonmen, but any of those theories are also just speculation based on facts we don't have.

Either way, speaking of "reversals", if some Russian info on a whatever plot also revealed Iran had, idk, infiltrated the IDF or whatever, you can bet we'd be perfectly happy with that, but Iran would probably not be pleased with their soldiers being executed by Israel for treason. And in fact, they'd be pretty pissed at Russia, and rightfully. And next time they'd tell Russia to fuck off.

Trump claims he has 'absolute right' to share intelligence with the Russians

As always, it's worth noting that Trump didn't deny telling Russia the stuff we don't know about; he just claimed here that he has a right to. Which he does, but it's also not what his staff has been saying (They've been big on "Trump did not disclose source or methods", and not mentioning content). I wonder if that's a communications strategy or a legal strategy.

Questions for people who know things or know where to find out: What has been made of the fact that Russia apparently was one of the hardest hit areas? Particularly Russian ministries (although not sensitive Rusian computers, apparently since they run some sort of voodoo bullshit that makes them immune). Was the original attack in Russia?

Also, it seems like this attack has thoroughly spooked the world. Where does this stand in terms of historical cyberattacks? I'm familiar with things like Stuxnet, but has there been anything on this scale done by cybercriminals? And I wonder if we'll start getting international treaties on cybercrime soon (what a world!)

You know, on one hand there is something nice about the fact that every post stands on their own merits and there's none of the terrible internet politics that come along with likes and stuff.

But on the other hand, sometimes you post and you can't tell if anyone noticed you were there. It's especially prominent in emotion threads (it's not like someone has something witty to say about every emotional response everyone has ever, but if no one responds you don't know), and when I do info dumps here every so often.

nobody sees any irony in this?

jesus nyt.
I think you just got out ironied actually. The point isn't even that everything Trump does is evil and bad and wrong (although some of it is, certainly). The point is that Trump does things Republicans haven't let Democrats do, whether or not they are right to do so.

This reminds of that SCP which was a prank SCP designed to parody the Foundation (in-universe). It was great because half of the comment section thought it was amazingly obvious and that there was no way the Foundation wouldn't immediately see through it, and the other half had no idea what the point of the SCP was. and didn't see through it at all.

It's good to know he didn't test his non-FDA approved supplements that aren't intended to solve any medical condition on animals. but .. why do you have to hold the stuff in your mouth for 15 seconds? It sounds like they just threw that in to make it sound more "mediciny".
Point of Order: most supplements are not approved by the FDA. Legally someone can stuff their containers with placebos if they want, as long as they don't claim they put something in it that they didn't put in (or vice verse); so they can't stuff goat hair in the pills unless they admit to it, but they can sure as hell claim that goat hair will make your erection last longer.

Supplements are not to be trusted. Alex Jones vitamins even less so (instead of the Flintstones, Jews and the Illuminati?)
