*Takes out lenses and puts on urkel glasses*
Spoilers, dont read them unless you know folks

Well, scientifically speaking, adamantine, raw and thread form, is only soft thread, though impossibly strong. It needs heating and shaping, you know, "smelting", in order to expand into the hyper-hard substance we know and love. Raw is stuck in stone, embedded one might say. The thing is, the demons of hell are unaware of this, and are under the impression that adamantine is impossibly hard, unless you already have a adamantine pick. The Demons of Hell are unsure of how dwarves acquired one, and this is often spoke of in hell as a conversation topic and is as common knowledge as the anvil-myths of lore. Now, dwarves, being the prized creation of Armok, know innately of the ways of the mountains, and the method of digging out adamantine is known to all dwarves. however, if a demon should observe a dwarf digging out adamantine by digging out the edges, then pulling the thread out, he might tell others, and all hell would break loose, even more so then usual.
*Takes off glasses* uh. *puts glasses back on and grabs lenses, takes off glasses, puts lenses in*
Ow my eyes. *flushes eyes with water*

Why do crops not need any form of energy in order to grow, and why is a single piece of land capable of producing infinitely.

Huh, this might solve loyalty cascades by making the dwarfs who kill someone renegades (enemes of civ and group) right off the bat, so the person who kills them will face no repercussions.

I'm sorry, but I may have confused you. Assign crossbow/fisher to a squad. Yes, as a matter of fact, (and keep in mind, this only works in certain circumstances) off-duty marksdwarves will shoot things, but only if they feel they are in no danger. As long as your dwarves are ordered to stay in uniform at all rimes, which is the default, They already have ammo, if there is any to be had. and yes, by station, i mean  [m]ove.

Okay, have you assigned ammo? do you have ammo? if hes stationed, he will wait to attack, until something is in range. Kill orders will not work, since he cant path to it.

Finally, reloading takes some time, give him some.

Station them near the river. If something hostile near them, they attack. SOOO, to use this,  position them near the deadly fish, but not on the river. They'll start shooting as long as they have ammo. Yes, I think by harpoon, they mean crossbow bolt, unless you be modding.

Note: you can use this strategy to "live-train" your marksdwarves, which I believe is four times faster or so. 17/60 i think. Throw something in a pit. Station them near. Have fun!

Note: This doen't work unless the dwarves register the creature as hostile, not the other way around. So if you throw a elf merchant in a pit, that wont automatically attack, but they will if you directly tell them too. Even if they attacked the merchant earlier that day, since they're not scared of him, they wont attack.  Since Dwarves hate animals, you should be good for operation FISH.

Marksdwarves and ammo. Let them harpoon the things with their bolts.
So do I just build a harpoon wielding squad and order them to kill the beast, just like you would with a land creature? The creature itself though is in the river, which is 1 z level below land, could they hit the creature from there?
Oh yeah. Hurts range though. In my fort, I had the unexpected boon of defenders shooting down siegers while they stood futiley one z-level above. Actually, in retrospect, I'm brilliant. The traps, fortifications, and incline forces invaders to go circularly around marksdwarves while unable to get at them.

Make sure they dont walk up and try to bash it with their crossbows.

Fresh water!? No wonder he died of thirst.
the dwarves will always choose water over death. Despite popular belief, Dwarves dont wish to die, their just incredibly bad at not doing so. I've seen a determined dwarf desperately try to outrun a squad of gobbos. He didn't make it, but I sure enjoyed the show. There are legends of dwarves hiding from horrifying things, the end of headshoots proves that.

Yeah, because of adamantines extreme lightness, its dicey to say what it will work with. do bolts use weight? if so silver/steel bolts, if not candy, etc. My mottois "if in doubt, steel"

EDIT: Yes, I know bolts punch through anything they damn well want to, I'm speaking in general. Extrapolation and other large words.

2) Fill a resevoir, breach the caverns, anything. Seriously, You have a lot of options. Running magma can be jury rigged using a pump-system without much difficulty.
By the way, do nether-cap water-wheels get power from magma?

People, I shall bug you with questions on theoretical wagon people until I have been satisfied.  Should Wagons have gender? Shpuld they still be used for transport by caravans? Is anyone following this thread a modder? I could use a bit of help.

Traditional wagons don't work in game. I suppose you could create some sort of "wagon" creature that would have all the properties of any being i.e. it'd be a single tile creature.
Thats what I'm aiming for. Hey, if giant sperm whales can enter a flooded 1 tile wide passage-way, but two dwarves walking side-by-side can't, You know that reality had to take its leave of its senses at some point in my design. Still no word on genders? also, is it possible to make mine-carts child-wagons? I presume this would remove them from the game, And i'm okay with that.

EDIT: one thing. Where would its head be? I'm think it depends on wagon type. Does anyone know what wagons look like in DF? I'm thinking the handle, or the cloth part on the back, if it has it.

Well, To stay on topic, I once duplicated the human file accidentally while trying to make a different race. It erased humans, gave gremlins and trolls civilizations, appearantly turned kobolds into badasses capable of turing back entire armies of elves with a few kobolds, and made gobbos the dominant race everytime I genned, except once, when almost entire region was mountain, then dwarves took over.

To have some !!FUN!!, Who wants to make it a game? Duplicate a raw, tell us which, and lets see what comes out!

Ah, the number of times I've given this rant on the minecraft forums... I remember when the minecraft forums used to be as good as these ones here (believe it or not). I've all but abandoned them now... at least this game is complex enough to keep out the immature 8 year olds
Fixed that for ya. ;)

Though, I have to agree that sometimes the search box doesn't.  It may depend on how the site is set up, of course, and I've encountered quite a few sites that either don't have, or don't take, the time necessary to get the search stuff fully set up.  There is also the possibility that the site has gotten big enough, database wise, that the query times out before the search has finished going through all the posts.
REGARDLESS...

There is only 9 Search Results for Gnomoria, AND like I said before, Its the wrong forum to be posting about another game other then DF Fort Mode...
The eternal contradiction...

Clearly my forum powers have weakened. On an unrelated note, this post chain is scaring me.
POSTS FOR THE POST GOD.
THREADS FOR THE THREAD THRONE.
This is an adamantine thread throne. All craftmanship is of the highest quality. On this item is a picture of gnomes and dwarves in postium. The gnomes a stealing the dwarves' ideas. The artwork relates to the creation of an inferior copy of DF by the gnomes during the Fourth Attempted Rip-Off in Bay12Forums.
On this item is a picture of forumites and newbs in postium. The forumites are angry. The newbs are confused. The artwork relates to the contradicting of each other by the forumites in Bay12Forums.
On the item is an (obligatory) image of an image of cheese.
Ahh, quote pyramid, you have returned! Question, Is postium magma-proof?
I don't think postite is magma-safe in its unrefined form. However, it's looking pointy enough to weaponize. I vote we bridge-a-pult some babies onto it for science.
Some of it is. If smelted, it has a 5% chance of producing on bar of flaming postium. It also can produce memeium, lolcatium, modium, newbium, !!SCIENCIUM!!, etc.

Edit: Ninja'd
Fix'd

He might have hated the mayor.  Without checking the relationship screen you won't know for sure.  If it lists GRUDGE, he did indeed hate the mayor. ;)
Nope, He barely knew her. It helps my case he was also admiring her things. Had I not done something, i'm guessing her things wold have suddenly "disappeared".
