My primary use for blind dwarves will be to work on my floating fortres which has a long floatig road, that doesn't have side wall. Somehow all of dwarves see the zombies t the bottom of the 10z level deep ocean, so I need to build the walls. But only blind dwarves can do that.

I necro, this because I want to know, what is the surest way to acquire blind dwarves. I need only blind dwarves, for some special purposes.
The surest ways ironically come from the RNG; an FB that exudes a melting syndrome contracted upon contact, that is transmitted through vapours. This is the holy grail of eye melting; with effective application it can be used as a syndrome shower to blind Dwarves with relative control.

Any kind of danger room or "accident" application? I need blind dwarves fast, and I don't have the FB option.

Hey guys I have another problem. How do I write nicknames that have characters in them like: é, á, ű, ő, ú, ö, ü, ó, í, â, ă etc. Typing their code with alt, on the numpad doesn't work.

Dwarves have unhappy thoughs if they don't have clothes, and after a while clothes "rot away", so I have to replace them. In the .10 version, are dwarves capable to equip newly made clothes?

If so, then according to your answers to 2. and 3. I will have to order 5 cloth for every dwarf, which means that if the clothiers uses 1 cloth for one thing, then 57(number of dwarves)*5=285 clothes will be needed to for all the fort.

Okay I have made some modifications, and stay another year in the fortress to make it easier for new starters, to take hold of the fortress, and not save/load for 23 times. The rules are the same, if anyone want to play in this, sign up here.

After another year for me, here is the Taste of the action:

Aside from that :), there was a Goblin homeage (I couldn't call it a siege, since my military commander dwarves punched them out from the fabric of time with one swing, one Goblin died from getting hit by a flying head of his brethren), several flying zombie attacks and the number of dwarves doubled with the "help" of one migration, when we didn't have booze.

A detailed journal will come, if I see some people got interested again.

Are you certain you aren't using 0.34.10? 0.34.11 is supposed to fix that problem.

WTF 0.34.10 is now old? Does the new version has serious bugs, or it is heaven?

1. Also do I have to make cloths in .10, or the dwarves don't equip them from the stockpiles?

2. And what kind of clothes should I make, for a minimally complete set (full body, but no overlapping; like wether a robe is substitute for a dress or not, same with sandals and sock, trousers and skirts)

3. Also do they make pair of socks, or I have to designate two socks?
