@Sarzel: I doubt he arranged them in that order, lol.

It seems to be in order of how we posted our sheets, though yours and mine are switched.

Which clearly means mine is better.
Nah they re the best ones at bottom and the worst at top! Which means im the second to best horray! And your one isnt better!

Also, is it neccesary to bring some kind of mage identification? Or can you keep mage identity as secret after registering?

the second, but sometimes it's not easy to hide it :P

Er... deadline is ~3 days late! But nontheless here are the chosen ones destined to play the RTD for at least 1 turn!

  • Errol with his character "Crisco Diamond, is what he calls himself.", the ice mage.
  • BFEL with his limp walking character "Jeremus Springs", the rune mage.
  • Panceak with his pig "Roland Murphy, the upkeeper of order.", the Null
  • Dwarmin with his pretty boystar "Gerald Blue", the body mage.
  • Sarzeal with his female character "Kyne Cainthalsaz", the alchemist.
  • Caellath with his character "Alexei Kessler", the metal mage.

That is all! The first spot for the waitinglist is also taken by Ragnarok, hard choice but i had to make it. Rest will be updated shortly.

Will there be a limit for the level? I mean, if any person could go straight from level 1 to level 10, there wouldnt just be one touched.
Edit: I though this would be starting today?

chillax, there's no haste. I recently started school and i had stuff to do. But imma choose today.
Oh. I was just getting worried since you said it would be Sunday. And it seems everyone has already started classes in the forums but me?

Also, what about a Crystal Mage? He would be able to do magic with crystal, the more powerful the crystal, the more powerful spell. Isnt the same as to use glass than to use diamond. Its spells would have to do with anything from shooting darts of crystal to creating crystal barriers.
hmmm

Yes, this is interesting and a gem mage could work. Anyhow, here are the chosen ones :X

@Sarzael: Well, RP dose not have many rules. It's mostly freeform, and yet...here's the ones I tend to follow. It's long winded but not very informative!

Stuff
1. Don't take liberties with others peoples chars. Pretty self explanatory anti-metagaming. "I hit him and he flies back!' vs 'I aim a punch at his head and swing!'. On the other hand, describing how someone might feel something differently could be allowed-like 'Tiruin can feel hostility boiling from Dwarmin." etc, etc

2. Don't do anything that makes anyone super uncomfortable without making sure they're okay with it-usually in PM, but not needed very often. I'm no stranger to romantic subplots, myself, but make sure you don't skeeve anyone out. Likewise, don't be a jerk to everyone. Even if your character is a jerk. Some people are okay with romance stuff, others can handle aggression and dish it back. Try to get a feel for how everyone wants to play.

3. Improvise alot but stay within the bounds of the games reality. Unless your psychic, you won't know another persons thought text or their background unless they tell it to you. Try to keep the game as real as it will allow, so as not to break immersion. Likewise, RP isnt a concrete thing that can't ever be violated-if you need to shoehorn in some information you might know so we can move forward in the game or perhaps not die horribly, don't be shy...

4. Be descriptive. Describe your chars thoughts and feelings-as with #3, we can't read your mind but we know the emotion on your 'face'. It helps everyone understand what sort of char you're playing. And helps flesh out the world. Which is a big help to a GM. If you're particularly bold, and feel you understand the world enough, you can inject stories into your RP-which, will hopefully be incorporated by the GM in some way. We're helping him build the world around us, ideally enough.

If you RP long enough, all this will start to come fairly naturally.

Dwarmins sums it up pretty perfectly, but don't worry too much about the story. I will add some, but you have to discover some as well.

Levels aren't really academical degrees iirc. Just, well, a mix of natural talent and academical learning that, in total, denotes how good you are with magic.
And, do we start with level 1 or what?

Please look at the misc. lore tab. and you start at level 2, like i have written in the character creation.

Ok, i need those questions answered for my bio:

Is possible for two nulls to have a mage daughter?
Yes, the ability to cast magic is not genetics. It's affected by an individuals soul, that's why mages have an starter magic affinity because their soul resonates with that specific magic.

Is possible for two mages to have a null (Whatever)
Once again yes.

At what age do they commonly present magic symptons?
Varies from person to person, but mages are nearly always discovered before age 12.

Would it be possible for a Writer Mage who never learnt to write due to being poor not to know he/she has magic?
No, writer mages have this instinct and ability to be able to write in writer language from age 0.

Are there some kind of ´´Magic Schools``?
There is the college of magic and university of magic. The first being entry level magic school up to level 4 and the second being advanced up to level 6.

Also, how to know what value something has? I think thats pretty relative to each person.

You may have a item that means a lot to you, and you wouldnt change it for a million dollars, however other person may see it as a worthless piece of stuff.
Which would be a fair value? For example, gold is very valuable even though it doesnt really have many real uses.
The equivalence gate accesses value of items, it is your only god. The gate can speak to you trough your mind and even transport you to it's own timeless reality.

And how you exactly obtain mana? Is it an mineral? An liquid? Something else? Something mages just generate over time?
Raw mana is and was always present, humans just couldn't use it after the event. Everything has mana imbued, the trees, sand, animals and even you. I will add it to world lore soon, today.

Also what about a Weapon Mage?

Traits:
Using weapons?

Cons:
They depend in the quality of their weapon.
They cant do magic if they dont have any weapon.

Pros:
Really powerful when using high quality weapons.
Good for specializing on a gameplay type (For example, with two daggers you can specialize on being an assasin mage?)
Can change their magic by taking a different kind of weapon.

Changing my character background to fit new alchemy mage proffesion. What do alchemy mages usually do when they re discovered? Go to some kind of academy? Would be good if you gave us more information on that kind of stuff.

Weapon mage would be equal to a Null with an light exo-suit and runic inscribed weapons.

@Caellath, Nulls have more options than you think they have. Judging from his bio, he will be going order with a side of weapon.

@Sarzael, coming right up.

Also, if demiurghes cant be added, can the skill to give life to stuff be ported to some other type of magic?

Alchemy can give life, but not to random objects. Death can also technically give life, but to the undead. Giving life shouldn't be that easy you know?

Also i changed the way to gain entrance to the RTD, more info on the frontpage.

What kind of stuff can be given life with alchemy?

Bodies, they don't have to be made from flesh and blood but you cannot naturally give life to objects. Cause you only have one soul yourself. You can create elementals, but that's a different thing.

... I have a question.

I'm doing theorizing on characters, and ye mentioned talking to you about additional magics...

:3 How does Nuclear/Atomic magic sound?

Gravitation magic has a part of it. I did think about it being a single magic but i found it to be too powerful.

Regarding Errol, he happens to be a lot on the ##bay12rtd chat and when I'm in need of help i go there. So it somehow turned out like this, it's not like everyone has access to that chat. Also the system is very generous. Instead of a first come first get, you actually get a chance of joining. More than once did i want to join an RTD, but to find it full because i happened to be asleep.

@Sarzeal. What do you exactly mean with a public character? His character sheet is on page 2 i believe. Also i unfortunately cannot allow Deimurgy magic.

@Dwarmin, it's already a 5+1 game. 7 would be just too much at times

Portal magic is a part of void magic and the other one is like a version of conjuration? Question regarding deimurgy, if you decide to drain lifeforce, you don't have to kill the person in the process right?

@caellath, don't worry. I will leave it till Friday.
Not necesarily kill, but weaken. If that person was already diying for whatever reason, you may accelerate it. And you may not decide to drain lifeforce, you do it, you cant control it. If you get injured, you will automatically drain lifeforce of people, wether you want or not. That doesnt make you invincible, just harder to kill.

I dunno, automatic life force drains sounds quite devastating. What range would you have in mind? Touch? 1m? 3?

Um, you spoilered Sound magic as a second Gravitation magic just so you know.

Name: Jeremus Springs
Gender: Male
Age: 25
Magic choice : Runic
Appearance: A young man with a calm, calculated demeanor, he prefers clothing that is fashionable, but understated. He walks with a decided limp, requiring a cane to keep up pace with other people. He has a fairly scruffy beard that he cannot seem to keep trimmed despite his best efforts
Bio: Awaiting some lore.
Additional equipment: A black cane with a marble grip
Participation number: 6

So whats some general lore about the world please? Like it seems to be semi-futuristic, it has an emperor and a council of 6 but whats the state of magic relations? People seem to have made a lot of stuff specifically to combat it, so is there open war against magic users? Are they discouraged and treated as second class citizens? Is there a "Magic Registry" system in place where they have to register their powers with the government or be arrested? Do the governing powers include magic users in the military? What do religious groups think of it? DETAILS PLOX

Let me dissect this.

So whats some general lore about the world please?
There are 2 worlds, New and Old Terra. There are 2 worlds because of the dimension shift event, which also triggered the appearance of magic. Or to be specific, it enabled the humans to use magic.

After the humans discovered that they could perform magic, the world powers quickly shifted and Christianity gained a lot of support. Becoming the biggest religion. After the humans discovered that not everyone could use magic, smalltime wars broke out between some states. But as time passed the world stabilized, Nulls created better methods to fight against mages and the world started accepting magic slowly.

Whats the state of magic relations?
The state of magic is tense. There is a very big tension between Nulls and magic users, this largely noticeable in the small states where magical racism is present. There are also wars between some of the small states, the big states try to avoid war but who knows what might happen.

Is there a "Magic Registry" system in place where they have to register their powers with the government or be arrested?
Yes, but if they don't register they aren't arrested. They just fill in the person as a Null and miss out on a lot of privileges they could have had instead.

Do the governing powers include magic users in the military?
Yes, even the royalty uses magic, but they prefer money magic.

What do religious groups think of it?
Some groups aren't too fond of it but some do use it, the biggest religion in my RTD is The Christian Church uses a lot of magic as it fits some of the stories of the bible.
