Luka blesses the Season of Remembrance with a Hat and Skull action. Skull iconography can be used to remember the dead (especially drinking wine from skull-shaped things) while drinking from hats will allow the living to recall things lost to them.

Of course all seasons are hat seasons if you are a true believer in hats.

32
((Also contentents are two acts, there is just a minimum of 3 continents))

33
(Appropriately enough, I didn't realize you were making a continent! Just thought you were adding islands to the ocean.)

Luka decides that the bloodwine isn’t heady enough for his tastes, and uses 1 Skull Act to fill the ocean with skull-shaped islands for the future life to live on. This will include islands that are skulls vertically, horizontally, and both.
Ignorance dissipates from Gongon before the sharp light of the Chaos Star, making it uncomfortable... aware.

Even as Gongon's awareness grows, so do the Skull Islands, becoming larger and more intricate, becoming grand skull-chains. A subtle mystic aura begins to grow within the skull islands, causing those who live on them for a long time to occasionally fall into trancelike states of no-self, no-thought for a few hours at a time.

Spend 1 Ignorance act on the Skull Island Continent [2/3 acts needed]

((I don't know if we can add non-continent sized land modifications yet.))

34
Gongon is not aware they have acts left.

Nevertheless, Sanity flows out of the gaping hollows in Gongon's form, falling down onto the world before in large lumps, landing with bone-jarring thuds and splashes, which set off spectacular ash storms and wine tsunamis.

The lumps begin to clump together to form a slowly squirming continent of fantastically coloured stones, sand and soil. The entire continent is covered in an intricate network of crisscrossing passages, canyons, ravines, clefts, tunnels, cavern systems etc. In these appropriately named Lost Lands, you are supernaturally likely to lose your way and bearings, becoming lost. The land itself slowly shifts and changes over time, making maps, markers and waystones intrinsically unreliable over anything more than a few fortnights.

Gongon spends one Sanity on initiating the creation of the Lost Lands

(Are the not Islands anymore? I thought we where both going halfzies on a continent :V)

Lysia takes a few moments to attempt to memorize as much of the ruins general layout as she can, with the goal of being able to guide people in and out without getting lost, then turns to Lanith
~Thanks, I'm ready if you are.~

As an over world map, it offers little insight to the layout of any particular ruin. Mostly it just tells you their geographical location. You could use it to lead someone to a previously explored ruin, and possibly even back, if you for some reason wanted to.

Rubber indeed exists in the world and is often used for magitech vehicle wheels, less so for face coverings and cloths. Maybe in some weird fetish shop I guess.

In that case, it’s probably really expensive and I only have 150 in liquid assets (the term is “liquid assets,” right?). Would that be enough?  Anyways, If I am still in range, I look to see if any of the mutated citizens display increased functionality due to their mutations, I.E. whether they have gained useful abilities and aren’t just bog-standard blotchy-skin mutants that you could get by exposing someone to plutonium or something.

((I don’t think this is the kind of game where playing Mutation Roulette is a wise idea but one can always hope.))

Currently the man is alone in the room. Presumably this is due to his miasma making him a terrible roommate. This may be considered a positive if you are incredibly antisocial, but most people are unlikely to consider this an upgrade.

150 is probably enough to purchase some rubber.

~Let's go~ Lanith walks down the staircase, past the receptionist, and opens the door.

Is this Loss?

Lysia follows Lanith back, returning to the inn and looking for the rabb -no- tabbit, that had implied an invitation to group up... the name was George, right? George. Gotta remember that.

You return to the Inn, arriving just as the interrogation is ending.

"Excuse me, I also have a question. I heard that some of the afflicted had... unusual new dietary interests. Did you experience anything like that or have you heard of any such cases?"

He shakes his head no, then points to another door.

“Not me…others do…some flesh….some blood….most are gone now….but he’s still here…”

Put forth two aligned acts to partly create an additional plane: a great living shadow in the sky which serves as an avian haven, a safe place only birds may reach. Others may finish with additional acts, altering the finished product appropriately.

Luka silently moves over the shadow sky, adding a Hat-Aligned action. The avian haven is now a feather hat.

"Was the wind itself visible in any way?" Van's mind was already racing. If the water wasn't contaminated then what was the reaction that turned it red? Was that why the skies turned red? Was all the water in the upper atmosphere being affected by the passing wind? If water turned red when in contact with it then maybe... It would need some clear containers like a vial, pipes small enough, a funnel, a cork and wax to seal it just to be safe. Vague plans to build a simple contraption to possibly capture some etherwind was forming in its mind. It didn't have the parts, or the money to purchase them yet and even if it did the contraption would still need to be placed somewhere the etherwind was going to hit. Even then the obviously magical nature of the etherwind could pose troublesome for a purely mundane trap like it was planning. Still, Van longed for a sample to study and examine. If it was to beat this thing it needed to understand it.

"A cloud...it came with a cloud..."

So that would mean I heard him say the thing about the miasma in the air, right?
If so, I ask: “did clothing seem to affect it in any way?  Did you try to stop inhaling?  If so, did that change anything?”

If he answers that clothes and breath holding did help, I go into the town and buy some sort of face and skin covering clothes, maybe treated with wax or rubber (do they have rubber in this world?) to stop the stuff from penetrating.  If I don’t have enough for everyone, I will steal from shake down ask for money from my teammates.

"Nothing....helps...I need...to breath...to live."

Rubber indeed exists in the world and is often used for magitech vehicle wheels, less so for face coverings and cloths. Maybe in some weird fetish shop I guess.

"Were there any people that hid inside houses? Generally how affected were they compared to you?"

"Most people...hid in their homes...some better...some worse......best was the Watchtower..."

More coughing.

"Gaps in the logs...chimneys...the wind got in...one way...or...another..."

which Lysia does immediately, wanting to look it over and especially note the general layout and what has already been looted.
~C'mon Lysia, let's go~
Lanith opened the door and walked through it onto the path outside.

After getting some fresh air, you walk up the stairs. It leads into a lounge area with bedrooms lining all four walls. More adventurers hang out chatting casually, standing around or sitting in one of the stuffed chairs placed randomly around the room. In the center was a large table with the promised map.

Xs, indicating looted ruins, randomly appear across the map as if someone had spilled breakfast cereal on it and someone else had to chalk out the crime scene in black ink. You quickly loose count of how many ruins have been looted, the number had to be in the hundreds at least. You notice a few "O"s among the Xes, though they are far fewer in number. There doesn't seem to be any pattern you can recognize.

Name: Luka
Class: Spark
Titles/spheres (2): Divine Hatter, Protector of the Skulls
Form: A tricorn hat somehow filled with valuable godly organs. Two large eyes adorn the front of the dark black felt hat embroidered with gold.
Description/background: Luka seeks to insure that every head equivalent is under the cozy protection of the Spark's greatest creation, head ware. Will probably become the planet's hat if not stopped with excessive violence, making him the sky.

With which group would I be again?  I'm not so good at identifying the other characters.

You're with the group that stayed at the inn, talking with the ....... guy.

"Thank you."
and so Lysia takes a step towards the back stairs, but then turns to look for Lanith, unwilling to proceed alone.

Lanith is talking to the receptionist instead of following you. It seems she has a new best friend. You have been forsaken.

"Hrrrm, Would you be willing to talk in detail about any changes from the rain you've experienced? I understand if that's too personal a question though."

"Dark splotches on my body....miasma coming from somewhere...it gets in my lungs..."

He lungs inhale sharply at their mention.

"Not the rain...it was the cloud...rain is....safe....the cloud...the wind...not the rain..."

"Where is Silvercreek and Thorafin?" Lanith asked to the receptionist while she stuffs the paper into her backpack.

You take the missing people reports from the public board.

"Silvercreek is one of the tributaries to the river running through Mulligan town, you would see it if you followed the river downstream for approximately a week. Silvercreek village is situated next to the creek close to the hills. Thorafin is a coastal town far to the South, distant from other settlements. How long it takes to get there would depend on the weather. As the ocean is frozen year round, this means overland travel. Both locations are marked on the map upstairs."

Lysia pulls out her card from home, the one she got because of the overlap between hunting and culling nearby monsters, rather than for traditional adventuring, but  she figures that it should do, right?

"Here."

"A card? Interesting custom your local guild office has. Most tend to use something sturdier."

She points to the stairs in the back of the building.

"You can find a map of the southern frontier in the lounge up the stairs. As a courtesy, adventurers may mark the map and the door to explored ruins to allow others to know that they have already been looted. This is not required and non-guild affiliated adventurers will typically not follow this custom, so a mark-free building is not guarantee to be fresh by any means. If you are found abusing this system you will face demerits on your record."

"What about animals? Did you notice a decrease of sightings or are there also other animals being affected by the Etherwind? Any odd things of interest like changes in the general environment?"

"No...animals didn't change. We had dogs...Still have dogs...they're safe...there was birds in the trees...they flew when I started running..."

He takes a break to cough.

"It seemed normal...until the blood rain...dark from the clouds maybe..."

"We've just arrived in the area, and want to know what work has already been done to find out about the cause of the Etherwind and what progress has been made mapping out and searching the ruins, as well as any hazards we should keep in mind."

"Currently most progress against the Etherwind is in the way of prevention. Major settlements have begun digging Etherwind shelters in preparation for when it arrives at their doorstep. Personal protection in the form of either worn equipment or portable shelters have begun showing up on the market, however many models are likely to be frauds and none have as of yet been tested in the real Etherwind. None as of yet are endorsed by the Adventurer's Guild. We have not yet received any verifiable information about the origin of the Etherwind. Due to the guild's policy of allowing individual parties freedom in how they operate, I can not disclose how other adventurers are looking into it."

She tilts her head and scans you with her eyes.

"As for the ruins, would you happen to be a guild member?"

"That is very understandable. I can't imagine many people would be very detail-orientated in that situation."

"Did you spend a long time in the cave? Were you in a position to see how long the Etherwind lasted?"

"It felt like forever.....It was getting dark when I left the cave...maybe three or four hours..."

Lysia reaches over and lifts up the papers blocking the view of the bounty, taking a look at what has been left behind after all other jobs were done, and then heads over to the reception counter.
"Excuse me, could you tell us about the Etherwind and the ruins?"

Pictured in the bounty is a Runefolk woman with an eyepatch wanted for burglary, a 1000G bounty on her head. Alive only. Given the relatively low reward for the difficulty of finding someone hiding out in the boonies it is likely nobody could be bothered to go after her.

Jiggling the flower on her head with the motion, the Meria nods. “Those are both awfully broad topics, do you have any specific questions?”

Van tilted its head just slightly.
"Did you notice anything unusual before the red rain started falling? Anything that could offer a bit of warning?"  Its face remained expressionless but its voice was softer than normal

"And what happened to the red liquid when it hit the ground? Did it collect into pools at all or did it get absorbed into the ground?" The thought that the ground and standing water sources in areas hit could be contaminated worried Van quite a bit.

“No…not me. Others say the sky went red first…but the trees blocked my view. I didn’t see it…

I remember my cloak being soaked and hugging me tightly. I stomped through…some mud…think…it acted like normal rain, pooling up in some places before draining away. Wasn’t paying close attention….mind was elsewhere.”

Lanith skims though the posters on the bulletin board. She grabs the ones that had the highest reward and reads them carefully.

Aside from the bounty, the highest offers where:
50G: an elf child from Silver Creek.
Grandfather’s sword: a human woman from Thorafin.
Free room: Lykant grandfather from Sawmill Town.

45
Lysia steps to the side immediately after entering, clearing the path while she stands still and looks around, taking in what she can see of the building. After a few moments of getting her bearings, she heads over to the bulletin board, seeing what is publicly posted before bothering to ask questions of the people here.

Lanith pauses for a few moments to take in her surroundings. Then she makes her way to the bulletin board.

You move to the bulletin board in unison, echoing each other’s steps perfectly.

Most of the board is filled with missing person reports. At the top of each is a detailed artist sketch of face and profile, followed by a name and description, along with last known location and a token reward. Said rewards are universally small, something closer to what you would expect from finding a lost pet then a lost person, with many offering only a service or gratitude. Much of the remaining space is occupied by ads for things the typical adventurer needs. A single bounty poster can be found under some of the missing person posters, easily missed do to their similar structure.

George waves at the cloaked person.
"Hey there friend! We're adventurers that are soon going out to try to stop the Etherwind, so we would like ask some questions in prepartion beforehand. You don't need to answer if the questions are too intruding and you feel uncomfortable.
Starting off, firstly just for confirmation, are you from Watchtower? How long ago did the Etherwind show up? Did everyone flee the village or, are there any missing or those that stayed behind for whatsoever reasons? Can you give your account of the Etherwind? We are looking into travelling to Watchtower for investigative purposes, so are there additional information that would be helpful? Things like any nearby other villages or general dangers present in the area.
"
Turning his head towards the adventurers with him.
"Any other questions you guys feel like asking for our good friend here?"

He pauses before answering, his voice seemingly uncorrupted. “Yes…I was from Watchtower. The wind came two weeks ago, we abandoned the town last week. We are missing many…people who couldn’t get to shelter in time, people who…stopped being themselves and ran to protect others, some who just vanished in the confusion. Good people. People we couldn’t run the village without. It is empty now. Those people…are all probably dead.”

He paused for breath, panting heavily. His miasma oder increases. “I was out hunting when it hit. Knew what the blood rain meant but couldn’t do much about it aside from hide in a nearby cave and pray. Wind swept above me, a bit got in the cave and I felt myself change. It is like having your soul flogged. Nearby villages…none left. Not within a days walk at least. Danger…monsters sometimes. Nothing big gets this close to Mulligan but we had to put bounties out for tough ones some years back. Nothing yo worry about…if you can fight…”

After some more heavy breathing, he adds “…unless wind….returns….”
