Hello everyone!

Following the relative success of my on-going castle game found here http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=152476.0

OOC: http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=152499.0

I am opening up a side-game in the same setting and timeline, you are not required to read the entire game to play though some familiarity will help. Even without, it can be easily explained in-game and some Meta-knowledge will be given if appropriate.

Like with the last game, you will be one of Akras Megacorporate's 'Gate team' that goes out on adventures and quests in the name of glorious profit, chosen from the mass of interns and employees to go do what is arguably the most dangerous jobs the company has to offer.

Be warned that this is a high-lethality game, and while taking risks will allow your character to grow faster, dying will have you more or less start over.

There won't be stupid traps designed to go 'Rock Falls, everyone dies.', everything will be the result of your actions or inactions. Overestimation of your own skill can get you killed, running and gunning will probably get you killed, not checking corners, walls and ceilings will likely get you killed, fighting fair gets people hurt and killed.

Remember, if you've entered combat with both you and the enemy on equal footings, somebody have fucked up.

Lastly, you are working for a Corporation, not military. As a starting squad, you're little more than fodder, you are sent in but aren't expected to survive. A lot of assets are not available to you unless you have the money to buy them, and honestly the company doesn't give two damn whether you survive an engagement or not. You're just some guys they grabbed and gave guns to, after all.

But start surviving missions and they'll recognize you, the more you survive, the more cost-efficient you are. And Akras is all about cost-efficiency. Not only will you grow stronger and more skilled, but more assets will be available to you for free.

Hell, one day you might even be able to call down a Rod-of-God from Orbit!

Feel free to ask questions. Resources for the game and character template will follow momentary.

The world was never perfect, and you know this well.

"Anyone can be Anything." They said. On the Television, in Billboards, over the wall and even in your damned phone. But only some naive girl from the countryside really believes that anymore.

Zootopia was a beautiful place, sure. It's Architecture and Design was no less than an Environmental miracle, allowing Animals of all kind to live together in one massive city where they are most comfortable.

Well, that just makes the collapse even worse..

It's been two weeks since the first outbreak, the Central government have already effectively collapsed. Basic necessities are scarce and where there are lights, they're usually running on back-up generators using precious fuel.

Cars left abandoned in the streets as trash and bodies in bodybags littered the ground, making traverse in a vehicle ill-advised.

The city is crippled. Blinded to the outside world as communications broke down and environmental controls failed. Snow originally meant for TundraTown only are beginning to fall in the city while the scorching heat of Sahara Square doubled. If there's any survivors there, you doubt they'd last long in the heat.

Civilization have fallen, many desperate survivors turns to looting as the collapsed government failed to provide enough supplies for everyone. It may seems like the world have reverted back to 'Survival of the Fittest' once again. There's even some creepy, horrifying rumors of desperate Predators eating the dead! Surely that can't be right.. Right?

There are still some who tries to hold together what remains of civilization, but they are helplessly outnumbered, and there's only so much supplies left to share..

The world is ending, and this is your story.

--Alexander McCain the Red Panda.--
The world ended, big surprise. It was never a pretty place, once you really started looking under the rug. But nowadays it have gone to the shitter even worse.

It's been Two weeks, and you've kept yourself locked in your office. It's got everything you've got and even your trusty Trenchcoat!

You thought you've got everything to ride this out. Canned food and bottled water, you were prepared.

Just.. not prepared enough. You've only got left to last another day, and running water have long since stopped. Drowning in your own shit is probably NOT how you wanted to go.

You're eventually going to have to go out and peak your head at Society once again..

Today seems to be that day, as your watch began to glow orange. A sigh crept up on you internally, you know what this means..

Your Status as Agent have been activated. And it's time to do the real work.

Kicking yourself away from your table on your sliding chair, you slide over to your cabinet and unlock the secret compartment with your hidden key, pulling out a small case with a proud Emblem on it. Heh, guess it's time for the desperate measures, then.

Typing in your secret code, it clicks and hisses as it unlocks. Revealing it's contents for you.
What is in it?

--Lear Dubois the Goat.--

You.. weren't quite sure how, but you've made it.. you think? It's been two Terrifying weeks, and everyone was trying so hard to survive. The falling snow isn't making anything easier, or the dead bodies. You've seen a sheep just.. fall down and die the other day. They had to burn her body.

It was terrible..

What wasn't so terrible, is that at the very least, you've got your parents to a safe place. Precinct 1 of the ZPD was the first place you've gone to, and you were right. What remains of civilization seems to have gathered here, more or less. With ZPD Officers doing their best to keep the order. But you know that without anyone going out there, the supplies are going to run out. It's sad to imagine what would happen when that happens, everyone's been trying so hard..

Too bad you couldn't get in contact with your Best Friend or Girlfriend.. they're somewhere out there, you just know it.. but you haven't been able to contact them since the communications went down. You tried to tell them to meet up here, but you weren't sure if they got the message.

Then your watch begin to glow Orange.. Ah, it's time, then. Took them long enough to decide..

Among-st the things that you've packed, there is a book. A book with a strange Emblem on it. Bounded and never opened, and a bit too large.

Using a small key, you unlocked it and opens the book, revealing the contents.
What's in it?

--Staff Sergeant Tenno the Rhino.--

You never had it easy. First you had to fight for your survival even in such a 'modern' world just to grow from infancy, you had to go to a poorish public school thanks to your family's financial status of having to raise three growing children, the kids were quite mean to you.

Then when you tried to join the military, they knocked you over to the fucking police. You got to bust some faces in with your baton and shield, sure, but still!

Then, of-fucking-course the world went to shit from some fucking virus.

Fan-fucking-tastic.

Well, you don't know about your brother and sister, probably dead. Maybe not, you might never know. But at least you've got your Wife and Kids here safely at Precint 1, ZPD. There wasn't enough space for everybody and many had to tent outside, but there's always space for the ZPD Officer's family, so that's one of the perks you suppose..

Today you were overlooking from upstairs at the sparse crowd that's gathered for the soup kitchen, wondering what the Higher-Ups have in plans for today..

Then you noticed that one of the Goat's watch downstairs begin to glow.. You know that glow. Checking on your wrist, your Watch is also glowing, of course.

About Fucking time.

You turned around and march over to your locker, practically rip the door open, moved all your stuff to the side to reveal a secret pad with an Emblem on it. You put in your secret password..

It clicks and opens, hissing a little as a small secret compartment reveal it's contents to you.

--Benjamin Yetu the Grizzly Bear.--

You've been training recruits two weeks ago before the call came in, they needed everyone to get to Zootopia and control the situation.

The Situation went out of control.

You've lost contact with the rest of your squad, and while you tell your Mother and Siblings to be safe, they're still in the city. Probably at their homes, hopefully. If not, somewhere safe. Not having Communications is a terrible thing..

You've found yourself naturally wandering to the ZPD's Headquarters in the City Center a few days ago and have been helping the Officers there keeping the peace as best as you could. Having a big, Grizzly bear with a big sidearm helped magnificently, although you feel that you eat too much of the already-scarce supplies of food and water..

But today, things are about to change. You were serving the kitchen soup, giving helpings of soup for both Predator and Prey alike while your mind wandered. To your trainings, your family, the situations and whatever might cross your mind at the moment.

Then you realize that one of the goat in the line's watch glowed a familiar glow.. You check your own and indeed it is glowing as well.

Ah.. It's that time, then. You apologize and hands a Polar Bear ZPD Officer the handle of what you were using to get soup and excuses yourself.

Quickly heading to your assigned resting spot, you open your military bag and take out a case with an Emblem on it. Guess time really is desperate, huh? you knew it was right to bring that thing everywhere with you.

You put in your code and it hisses open, revealing it's contents.

The Game Thread
--The Setting--

Zootopia.

A place where anyone can be anything. Where mammals, both predator and prey live together in harmony. A shining beacon of Animal civilization and evolution from their ancestors. Divided into twelve districts, each specifically designed to accommodate the lifestyles of every type of animal imaginable. Simply put, it was the grandest city the world had ever seen.

Or, it was.

March 3rd, 2016.
A pandemic from an unknown source spreads from the Rainforest district, and sweeps through the rest of the districts. It spreads through the entire city and across the country. Turning the infected deadly ill, or aggressive to the point of atavistic savagery.

March 8th, 2016.
The Central Government collapses five days after the initial outbreak. Basic services fail and without access to food or water, the country quickly descends into chaos.

March 12th, 2016.
The city's nuclear power plants stop working after three days of working autonomously as its employees did not show up to work.

The world is plunged into darkness.

March 13th, 2016.
The Strategic Homeland Division (SHD), or "The Division" for short, is activated.

You are part of this group. A classified stay-behind force of self-supported tactical agents. Leading seemingly ordinary lives, you have been trained to operate independently of command when all else fails.

You are the final straw in keeping what remains of animal civilization together.
Save what remains, put the city back together.

Will you save the city? Save yourself, your friends and family? Or choose to have your own goal?
Do you have what it takes to achieve it? Or will you succumb to the many dangers that lurk behind every corner?

A high lethality Squad-based Survival/Base building management Zootopia X The Division game.

--The System--

Following up on my previous games, we are opting to balance the crunch. Where there’s just enough crunch for everyone to have fun customizing your characters and feel as they grow powerful, but not too much that there are many redundant stats and points where you won’t really care for anyway.

And here’s a Character sheet for anyone who is interested. [with extra explanations.][Please don’t include the things in brackets in your actual sheets.]

Name: [Full name of your character. Titles and Nickname applies here if they exist.]
Sex: [The Biological Gender of your character.]

Species: [What kind of Mammal is your Character? No primates or rats.]
[Also note that there are limitations. A Rhino will not make it through a small hole and will be an incredibly easy target to hit, and a Bunny rabbit will not be able to carry a great deal of supplies and loots. Or that Fully automatic heavy machine gun.]
Relations: [Any families? notable friends?]

Background: [What was your Character’s ordinary life before the activation? Mostly fluffs, but please keep it consistent with your starting skills. It will also provide what and who you know at the start. A Doctor would know more about medicine and the local hospital than a Police officer, for example.]

[ Every skills are classified as the following.]
[ VEasy Skills  2 points to buy, 1 to increase per level]
[ Easy Skills 4 points to buy, 2 to increase per level]
[ Average Skills 6 points to buy, 3 to increase per level
[ Hard Skills 8 points to buy, 4 to increase per level]
[ VHard Skills 10 points to buy, 5 to increase per level
[ You don’t need to have all the skills ever. If you have a high enough skills in Medical, for example. Then you’re more than likely to also know a thing or two about First-Aids. And maybe even a little bit of surgery or drug dosages.
Having some skills in ‘building’ will means that you know your way around tools and can work on carpentry and the likes. Consult your GM if you’re uncertain about your skills!]

Skillpoint: 10 [Everyone starts with 10 points.]
-Small arms 3 [Every Agent are trained to use small arms at the very least. Easy skill]
-Athletic 1 [No fat, flabby agents here! you start with a free Athletic skill. This helps with running and not running out of breath. Average skill]
-VHard Skill [Choose a free VHard skill. This should be taken from your background and is likely what you’ve lived your life doing specifically. A doctor would have Medical for this.]
-Average Skill 1
-Easy skill 1 [These two should also be taken from your background. After you’ve chosen, you can spend your points in buying new skills or improving what you already have.]

[Now, Stats are a funny little thing. Your stats are in the range of your own species. So something like a Bunny Rabbit with a full 10 points in Strength will not be as strong as a Rhino with 1 point in Strength. But the Bunny will be much, much faster and a lot less likely to being hit, for example.

Statpoint: 5 [Everyone starts with 5 stat points to spread about. every stats takes 1 point to increase. 1 is the average of your species. 10 points is the absolute physical Max your species can get to without some supernatural intervention.]
Strength:       1
Dexterity:       1 [This is also Agility.]
Endurance:     1
Intelligence:    1
Charisma:       1

-Example Sheet-

Name: Officer Judy Hopps.
Sex: Female

Species: Bunny
Relations: Carrot-farming family, lots of siblings. Has a Fox friend.

Background: ZPD Police Officer.  [Extra fluffs will be appreciated.]

Skillpoint: 0
-Small arms 5
-Athletic 3
-Security 1 [VHard skill involving on bypassing and setting up security. Helps catching people and avoid being caught.]
-Armed Melee 1 [Free average skill. Police brutality ho!]
-First Aid 1 [Easy stand-in for medical. Could save a life, maybe.]

Statpoint:       0
Strength:        2
Dexterity:        4
Endurance:      2
Intelligence:     1
Charisma:        1

[This makes Judy a very fast and agile bunny with some muscle to show for it. Endurance helps keep her going. And is slightly more durable than the next bunny.]

Setting:
Based on my other Castle game, I've always wanted to run another one. Except you're not trying to attack Castles this time, you're trying to defend your own.

Reading the other game is recommended for the basic ideas and knowledge of what to expect of a castle.

This game will be somewhat different than the other one, for this one will be much lighter in terms of crunch. And working as a mix between a suggestion game and a game with players.

Your collective suggestions will make the 'Entity' that's sole purpose is to defend the Castle from anything and everything. You'll start small, maybe as small as a keep, and as time goes, as people die trying to get to your core and take a bite out of that juicey artifact of yours, you can spend the powers you've gained making your castle bigger. Improving your minions and the likes.

Besides the Entity, I am also accepting 4 volunteers who will be playing as Horror Knights. This does not bar you from making suggestions for the Entity.

As a Horror Knight, you are not as binded to the castle as the Entity. And if you so wish, you can go raid other Castles for their artifacts to add in to yours, making your castle more powerful.

With each successful defense or raid, You all get a quarter of the total powers that the Castle gained. These can be used to empower your gear and equipment, make new ones entirely, or summon more of your own minions. Enough power and you can have your very own private army!

Or if you're feeling ambitious, you can save up and spend it all at once to evolve into a Denizen. A type of super dweller of the castle that can kick some serious ass.

Horror Knights are an Awsome, Powerful being. But they are not unkillable. If a Horror Knight dies, you'll be replaced by the next person in the waiting list. They'll start at the first level like you did.

The Castle will start with 40* of power, and each Horror Knights will start with 10*.

How you spend them is up to you, if you want to summon something or create something, you can always ask the GM how much power will be needed for what you want.

For scale, a single point of power is enough to summon two mindless rushers that only understood 'Murderchargeattack' and 'Come to me.'
Or a single blade-armed rusher with the same level of tactical understanding.

You can enhance your own minions in many different and exciting ways, but your basic Rusher and their varients can only be enhanced by 2 points of power each. The same goes with buying gear for your minions.

So for example, if you wanted to build a couple of Rushers with intelligence equal to a common man and have their own gear, you're going to spend a single point to summon 2 mindless rushers, 4 points to enhance their intelligence up to man's level, a point in armor and another point in weapons. Which you can choose if you wanted it to be melee or ranged varients, of course.

And with that, you've spent 7 points of power to summon 2 intelligent minions that is both armed and armored and can understand your every command.

This is just an example, of course. You can always sacrifice some intelligence for more speed, agility, strength or whatever suit your fancy. You can sacrifice their weapons for better armor, or armor for better weapons.

Or you can just spend all 10 points to summon 20 mindless rushers and swarm them. It's up to you, really.

Now, remember. If a Horror Knight dies, there can still be more. But if the Artifact in your core is stolen, it's over. The Entity can live on without you, but not the other way around.
