Khaiden happens upon something that makes him smile.
He walks up to Ratodx
:
"I think it's best if Danh and I settle our differences once and for all. From what I've heard (he's been using voice commands and having stuff read to him by the computer) there's a VR simulator that we can fight in with no damage to our real bodies. I'd like to face him. Since it would be unfair to have too much of a disadvantage we'd both be using the same body type. If I win he pays me the money he owes right now. If I lose the debt's canceled. Either way it's out of the way and he gets the fight he obviously wants. Is that alright?"
(Is this getting played out?)

[As SMMI seems to still be busy, I'll go ahead and say that your Squad Lead gives you the greenlight to make honorable duel with Danh to get your money back. You can discuss the conditions in detail with him In-Character, of course.]

Dexter, while struggling to understand how to use the VR, still seems to be enjoying himself.
"This veeyar place seems pretty cool. What is there to do here?"

As he asks that, a feminine voice spoke to him in a language that he could understand smoothly. "Here in Akras Neural Virtual Reality Simulation™, anything within your imagination is possible. If you could not think of anything, we have several default simulations for you to enjoy at your luxury, such as a relaxing sunny day with optimal temperature at a nice, quiet park. Or perhaps a populated park. A nice evening at a fine dining restaurant, a wild night at the pub or an adrenaline-pumping exciting battle for your life at our Arena with any opponent you could wish to fight on varying degrees of difficulty.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask them at any time. Thank you for using Akras Neural Virtual Reality Simulation™."

Oh damn on a stick, the last post has been way too long overdue. Hopefully with me finally starting to have my days off of work again, I'll be able to make things more managable and deliver more posts than I have been lately. Sorry for all the waiting, guys!

Again, if you're not on discord, you should come check it out. There's content to help ease the days of waiting over for you there.

He can always interact with people in the VR even though he's in the real world. Using Facetime chat and the likes.

Also his tax return came, it was 350ml bottle of distilled alcohol that he made a while back and got 'taxed' in alcohol for it. That probably-defective-clone Sec guard gave him a big wink when he passed Danh the bottle. It came with a post-it note saying 'Stay out of trouble.'

"If you wish, I can prove the validity of our claim. I can reproduce the illusion that you shot down."

"While you hide the real bird, don't think we're draft, lassy." The Dorf sneered at the offer. This sneer intensifies when they notices your pointy ears.

Frazz steps out from the nearby bushes.

"Actually, that bird would be me. We were on a mission to meet you, and figured you'd be less hostile too a bird than a dragon. Guess I was wrong. Hey, if you want, we can get you a bird."

They don't all seems so surprised to see a Dragon. Well, an adolescent dragon. "Yea? well ye better. We shot that bird an' it's ours."

Shayla would chuckle and lean against the truck. "Well, everyone talking at once again. But still, suppose this works out just as well as anything else."

Some Dorfs just look at you and your metal wagon, but otherwise doesn't seems to have anything to say to you currently.

Fel cracks open the top of the canister, places it down, and steps back a little.

"Well, take a look at our 'pisswater' yourselves.

Anywho, Laz, a demonstration please?"

Cautiously one of them came out of the bushes and approaches the barrel.. and ended up unable to see over it as the barrel's height went over his head. But he still produces a metal cup and scoop some of the dangerous mixture up and take a big swig, drinking it down as if it was as smooth as milk. Then takes a second to process it all. "Hmpf, tis not half-bad Lassie."

While waiting, the Gang gets introduced to a whole new realm. A whole 'nother Reality beyond the one they are used to, the initial procedure were best left unspoken, as they likely will not remember what terrible thing were done to them in order to enable them to join the Terrans in this other reality than their own. [Though they might find that there's a small metal hole just under the back of their skull once they've exit VR.]

It's.. vast, and quite honestly confusing. The Voice-command doesn't make sense. [What the hell does 'Load Central Square.' even means anyway? why does it takes you to a bigass square?]

And the User Interface are just something that you haven't grown up with. It's like teaching Grandmothers how to use computers, maybe worse, even!

But with the Terran about, they can take the Gaians to whichever pocket they'd like to show them. Bars of every era, fighting Arenas from the Roman era all the way to modern cage fights, seedy lewd pockets and adrenaline-pumping battle sims with scenario and opponents of all thing imaginable and difficulty setting bars that sets from super easy you-are-a-demigod to realistic.

Of course there's also sports of every kind, Zen gardens and sparring arenas.

The Dwarves sneered. "You're saying that the Bird that we shot down were a magical Illusion and that there were, in fact, no bird at all? I call bullshit. You're just trying to steal our Bird for yourself!" But then their posture relaxes somewhat. Though still skeptical, they obviously like the sound of Booze.

"I don't know what kind of thing you are lassy, but I don't think your pisswater would hold a candle to real Dwarven ale."

217
To anyone near the crashsite, their HUDs will inform them of several approaching Heartbeats.

If unstopped, a few dwarven heads will rustle out of a bush, their stout eyes and beardy beard glaring at the gathered group. "Who are you people and where's our bird?" They asks suspiciously.

Then one of them widen their eyes in realization. "Have you come to steal our bird? It's ours! we shot it! that means we get to eat it!"

Heya Kaine, Thing's been crazy. People going into hospitals and the likes.

You still really should join our Discord, it's where we play some random RPs while we wait for all of this to blow over and get back to Castle again. There's games involving Manly druids going around ruining everyone's days and the Empire's Inquisition team and Magical school going on right now if you'd like to peek in and see if anything interests you! :)

Though Vigil weren't a commander in any sense of word at all, he was still a senior Foxhound member. Despite being suplex'd off of the Yahweh's launch deck by challenging a dragon.

So a couple of APCs are getting refueled and getting booze loaded up, might take a bit of time.

Meanwhile, the people whom decided to poke at dwarves decided to take it with foot from there, enjoying the Gaian forestry and it's many potentially deadly plants such as the leg-snapping flytraps that trap flies the size of your head and would not complain about snapping at your limbs, to name a few.

Aha, yes, we could do that.

Though I'm still waiting on SMMI to give a report for Newsquad.. which I'm not entirely sure if he's still doing that or not.

222
With the combined effort of skill, magic and technology, you think you've managed to Actually fixed Frazz so good he's even better than originally was! Huh.

So far, you do not see anyone leaving the mountain. And you're certain that it would take many hours to dig to you even with modern digging tools.

It's a safe bet that you're safe here for now, unless there's an animal dangerous enough to prove a challenge to your entire group, in which case you're in a whole lot more trouble than you thought.

Huh, the truck seems fine.

Neat.

Vigil and Aria were thanked for their work and informed that half the squad went on a truck to the dwarves some time ago.

I'm confused at to what this few rounds are you talking about.

224
You didn't know that it was going to explode, plus the HUD Warning went off as soonest as Frazz dipped himself out of the shell's way.

225
Frazz folds his wings and dipped suddenly, the tips of the tallest trees brushing and scraping the underside of the van as he dropped some, just in time for you to see and hear a large round whizzling overhead, then it explodes mid-air into a thick cloud of shrapnel.

The Van is pretty much okay as Frazz took the brute of the force, explosion jiggling his insides as dwarven metal scrap along his wings and back, tattering the delicate membrane and finding small nicks and nooks to imbed themselves into his back like an unpleasant needles massage in a Chinese massage parlor.

It hurts but it could be worse. It could be having his tail cut off. Goddam Vigil..

Meanwhile, Vigil, Aria and the Orges returns to the Yahweh, where they get more of the shiny rocks as they were promised. And fed some cube pigs, they love it.
