You can just assign any random dwarf as a broker, brink him to the depot, and enter the trade menu. After leaving it, my broker usually magically gains appraiser skill, unless this was removed.

Nope, it's still there. My broker is now a Master appraiser after years of big trades.

And it's definitely THIS broker that's trading? You haven't accidentally allowed anyone to trade?

Or if you have enough spare stuff, just trade at an obviously over the top profit for them, and they'll bring even more next year

Also additional eyes and pretty much any other body part as far as I'm aware

I'm almost disappointed... Only two turned, and they were peasants in the hospital. Who proceeded to attack each other before killing the other patients. Now I've only got one to deal with

Here's the problem... I have no clue how many were attacked, and how many may have been bitten. I've blocked in the hospital, all dwarves there are condemned to die, but other than that, I've got no clue where potential werebeasts may be hiding

I've gotta add in today's newest feat.

Huge goblin attack, and then I realised that my bridge to seal off the fortress wasn't linked to the lever yet... yeah.

Anyway, last ditch attempt, I say "fuck it", and send my 30 strong military out at them (outnumbered 2-1 at this stage).

Obviously scared, they take forever, and a few gobbos get caught in cage traps to train up my future military.

Then one axedwarf, who knows know fear, ran out to meet them head on, charging full speed, blocking flying bolts with his shield where he couldn't block them. Upon reaching the first target, one swing of his mighty Kodoredim - Dawnray the Adamantine Battleaxe, and a goblin head was rolling on the ground.

Running and dodging like crazy, the hero of Asenducim proceeded to single handedly slaughter 24 goblins, whilst their comrades watched on in horror from their cages. As this legendary warrior was cleaning up the last of the mess, the remaining military caught up with him and assisted in the cleanup

I had one injured, but not killed dwarf after a wereiguana attack. Then forgot about him until he killed multiple of my dwarves, and injured others... Now I've got half a fortress of potential future werecreatures.

My entire fortress is a ticking timebomb till the next full moon... Anything I can do to help put of the impending doom?

In an old fortress I had a legendary military dwarf who was the pride of my fortress. Being a marks dwarf, she absolutely annihilated enemy lines. In one battle, however, she ran out of ammunition, so went and attacked the enemy head on. After killing two with her crossbow, for some reason she decided to take a nap. In the middle of a battle! Surrounded by 3 gobbos pounding on her candy helm like an anvil, she slept soundly... Although she was probably deaf...

Once she was done, she then proceeded to wake up, and slaughter the remainder of the seize before heading back inside to train.

In my current fort I had an ambush from serpent men in the bottom cavern, at the same time as a forgotten beast appeared. Turns out they like to kill each other, however, after 3 or 4 dead serpent men, one of them refused to die. After over a year of fighting, she was an elite wrestler, and under the unit description of the forgotten beast, there were at least 10 pages of scars, plus half a page of current injuries, before finally the damn thing bled to death (maybe not so good when it's got dangerous blood)

If I recall correctly (been a while) you must unforbid the occupant's belongings and then mark them for dumping.

How do I go about that?

162
Also, stripping caged prisoners... how is that done? I remember doing it ages ago, but not sure how I did it

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / It happened again... Dwarves killing dwarves
« on: August 23, 2014, 10:42:34 pm »
I let my dwarves have a little fun with some goblins, and again, my military turned on each other, resulting in the death of one of my dwarves. I got a screenshot this time... Any clue what happened?

I'm thinking of removing the FLIER tag, is it possible to do that after world gen, or do I have to gen a new world for it to take effect?

I noticed that I had a stack of 400 forgotten beast meat, and 203 forgotten beast meat... I then disabled everything else for cooking, and put my legendary cook onto the job. The resultant meal is over 80k worth
