I'm not sure giants should start in the reefs. Reefs are kinda delicate and have a tenancy to be sharp.

Seadain:

Population growth grew rapidly with the development of glands. However, besides the small colonies of Seadain living externally of hosts, most within hosts (even shared hosts) lived separately. That was time to change.

The Seadain will now live in a local area within a host capable of supporting more than one. They are still mindful of their feeding however to not cause damage. Typically this area is near the nervous system (if present), where the secretion of chemicals will be more efficient and quickly received.

Avoid the bush for now, but keep keenly aware of it. Attempt to move Dhaagoth inside, without further damaging her wing. If anything should come out of the bushes, raise my hackles and hiss loudly at it, and engage if it attempts to harm us.

As a note, because of the way buoyancy and impact and all works, I have a feeling the buckshot strategy will be a lot less effective than you expect...or will need truly immense numbers of krill.

Like enough to satisfy a Garooda.
I was thinking it'd be less effective because of the slowdown caused by water resistance, and would be more akin to any predators just having little iron blobs rolling off their skin.

Prowl the immediate area, searching for any sign of danger. If none is found, attempt to (gingerly) move Dhaagoth into a safer area, and examine her wing closely.

Seadain
The Seadain as a collective felt the growth of the population rather quickly as the waters became saturated with pheromones. However, they had more uses than just that. The Seadain utilized their host for their own purpose, but keeping them alive seemed to improve population growth.

Begin evolving two sets of glands on each Seadain. One set of glands is receptory, picking up on the neural impulses of the host creature, and they second is excretory, putting out chemicals which have various secretions.

(Think adrenaline, seratonin, etc, many chemicals in modern-day creatures. It would have similar effect)
