Isnt that a braingate BCI?  those have been in experimental trials for.... shit, more than 6 years now?

IIRC, they have problems with the micro electrode array producing neural scar tissue at the implantation site, resulting in reduced efficiency of the array over time. 

There's better tech on the horizon made using bioluminescent protiens and surface mounted optical sensors that should eliminate the scartissue issues however.

So this is starting to come up more and more in the USA recently with great debates around it with each side screaming at the other and predicting the end times as they do and with some recent developments like the one linked bellow I thought it appropriate to ask what Bay 12 thinks on the issue as you guys seem to be less, let’s say, childish about things and many aren't US citizens. Please keep it civil. i hope for some good discussion for a while but I won’t be too sad if another of my threads sinks in a day.

For reference for you non Americans the current minimum wage is $7.25 per hour set by the federal government with some states adopting higher rates. the average American household earns around $50,000 a year. Some math: working 8 hours a day every day for a year on minimum wage earns $21170 which btw is not enough to live on.

My computers power cord stopped working for The third time for no apparent reason. Now  going to have to get yet another one. Whybtye hell did it break? It was fine an hour ago and I just put it in my  computer bag as I have done many times?

A squadron of 4 or 5 A-10s just flew overhead to-and-from KSC. I wonder what's going on around these parts? I'll keep an eye out for anything anomalous in the skies. I mean, if tank killers are flying about these parts, what's going on?

Nonetheless, they looked pretty awesome, since they were flying rather low.

what looked like a bomber (probably just a transport plane) flew over my house so close i could read the US air force name on its wings many years ago. it was certainly cool

started playing xenonaughts recently again. i do so love walking into alien ships and just blasting everything with a plasma machine gun. i really like the x division mod so much cool stuff and a much slower pace too. the mech suits are particularly cool every time i walk up and blast aliens i hear grimith yelling "tank suit!". for those wondering what the game is is basically xcom but good and true to the original formula.
