Neyvn, you should consider seeing if you can add Tale of Kingdoms. It does something similar to Millenaire but with faaaar less drain on the system and more player control. A bit grindy but then, with the Technic stuff you won't be short on any supplies.

To me the biggest problem with 2 is just that it doesn't feel like a sequel, just a reskin. :/

That modular boats thing actually doesn't appeal to me that much. I'd rather have it be like the Zeppelin mod, wherein I could build my own damn boat and activate it  with a certain part.

now here's a problem.  The game says free to play, but the market still sells game time and it has a counter of the amount of game time you have left which upon registaring for me is 4 hours.  So I'm gonna make a shot and say either thier market is broken or it's f2p to a limited amount of time..

They have different tiers of membership, in addition to just free, like most f2p games do. These add little perks (faster xp, more bank space, etc)

They aren't professionals. Their meltdown points it out. It's just some guys doing a game but not anymore. They shouldn't try to sell an unexisting game in the first place. They should have taken this more seriously.
Not anymore? They had a meeting this morning to revise their plans and are back to work as soon as they have computers up and running again.

Does look nice...
I wonder if I can put it into my Pack...

Works with Technic and Yogbox, with some bugs unfortunately when trying to sell mod items to merchants and such.

Woah, that does look pretty rad. I might give it a shot in place of millenaire.

Is it more, about the same, or less performance intensive right now?

EDIT: I really wish minecraft modders would edit the OP with changes to the mod, or even basic information about it.  >:(

Way, way better performance than Millenaire. Mostly because villagers aren't running around to work nearly as much - the player does most of the work, at least in the starting phase.

Tale of Kingdoms is my new favorite village content. It has grindable upgradable villages much like millenaire, but seems a lot more focused and fun to play - you have to grind monsters for 'honor' right now but a quest system is in the works to make that less irritating. You get to recruit bodyguards and eventually when you establish your own kingdom, a whole army. It's pretty cool.

Yah, the only programmers on the team live in the same household. The external team members are the artist and writer exclusively.

They've done their planned meeting now and have found that their latest backup isn't quite as far back as they thought, but they will be focusing on the NPC work for the next release to get it out sooner and move Saving/Map transitions for the  next.

Sounds reasonable to me: they feel the core gameplay just isn't there and it needs rethinking. Good to hear they're reusing some of the tech and code for the next project though, and since it's submitted to the IGF we should get to hear more soon.

Steam only makes games F2P on their service if they adapt their systems to use SteamWallet. That takes extra work most games do not do.

I severely doubt they're quitting, they were just really drunk and upset - as I would be in a similar situation most likely. They have a meeting in the morning with the rest of the team and then when they get some hardware to work on they'll be back to the grindstone.

Derp I just remembered the existence of Atom Zombie Smasher. It's kind of an RTS! There's not really any base building but otherwise it's very RTS-y.
