You can hire engineers and scientists. You just need to make them a place where they can do their job.

You do kinda hire engineers and scientists, except what you're actually doing is building them a cozy place inside your base to work in. I don't know where all the scientists and engineers you get as rewards go to, however. Maybe the supplying countries build their own little XCOM bases and them "giving" you four scientists instead amounts to giving you an off-site laboratory and four expert scientists to staff it. Something similar with engineers.

S-COM major defeat.

I couldn't grab the end of round summary, but I got this.

CoraiUnki Announces:
Crispin Sacred, after arriving at Antioch V, obtained Alex Parker's money that he had kept for Crispin in the event of his death. Crispin became several million credits richer, for what it was worth in the galaxy where money was now worthless.

Jay Wright, after arriving at Antioch V, engaged the alien and ANTAG forces alongside Feren Leolleon. The combined forces of xenomorphs, necromorphs, creatures and changelings, as well as hostile ANTAG forces, quickly overwhelmed the two despite the mitilia they had formed from the survivors of S-COM and military and police forces.

The engineer dude was later captured by a xenomorph and used to host a larva.

I blame Corai for casting a staff of animation on my mech.
As do I.

What are you talking about? I didn't do anything to your mech.

For posterity.

coraiunki Announces:
Despite the loss of the majority of S-Com's military forces, they managed to regroup after the last ditch attempt of winning the war on the alien's behalf. After the death of the Alien Emperor, the most deadly weapon in the alien's arsenal, the faithless, at once perished and returned to the Otherside. With their squad commanders gone, the less intelligent necromorphs, creatures and xenomorphs began a retreat or went into hiding.

After the battle for S-Com command, David Petrelli and Alejandra Sealis, along with several dozen dropships of S-Com marines landed on Ryclies IV on a search and rescue operation. The Sealis family was recovered with only the father acquiring a plasma based wound from a stray alien gunship attempting to drive off the S-Com forces.

As the war ended, the galaxy began to return to it's former state. The Syndicate resumed their war on Nanotrasen, Nanotrasen returned to being the face of evil. But S-Com was never forgotten, nor did it entirely disappear. The names Hector Petridis, Nicole Tsuri, Alejandra Sealis, Jay Wright, David Petrelli, Feren Leolleon and Axel Axel were never put into a history book. They were not remembered as heroes, but they died as heroes in the eyes of those who knew them.

S-Com major victory.

For posterity.

coraiunki Announces:
And thus, with the last of Nanotrasen's organized military forces eradicated by Nar-Sie's hordes of minions, the galaxy began to bit by bit be destroyed by Nar-Sie's forces. Entire sectors of space sacrificed in a blink of an eye as the mad god swept through the galaxy, killing all in his path.

Cultist major victory.

S-Com: They made X-Com look like a bunch of pussies. Do they have latino women running up to aliens in their undies fighting them in melee with an energy sword?

Do they have drunk russians shooting their allies?

DO THEY HAVE JAY FUCKING WRIGHT?

S-COM. WE ARE BADASS.
