Other Games / Re: Sandcastle Builder - Dwarf Fortress of Idle Games.

Redundakitties are the way to get going initially. 200-1000 castles from a click take quite a bit to build up from other things. For example, one redundakitty early on can get you 200 castles, which would take 5 hours with 20 newpixbots.

If you are idling, arrange it so that the badge/boost window has at least one spot left to fill, and focus on the bottom part of the screen. If you keep it visible, you can see when the badges or shop screen changes, and you can then find the kitty to click it.

So. Can hoodies and other "has a hood to warm your head" items be made activatable to put up the hood to cover the head, instead of being automatic? I've been making my starting batch of clothing from shelter scraps, and realized that my hoodies could cover my head, as they have hoods, but instead I have to make hats for armor.
Umm, I'm not sure how this would make them being automatic a bad thing. The whole "can't wear a hood if you are already wearing a hat" thing is intended. Only problem I see with them right now is that they automatically are worn even if you are too hot, but that's as simple as adding a check and making them not be worn when you are hot, only cold.
What I meant was, I'm wearing two hoodies as basic protection cobbled together from sheets in the shelter. The reason is that there are no good arm armors at 3-4 tailoring, that don't also cover the torso. Hoodies provide decent protection when doubled, 6 is nothing to sneeze at for each layer. It would be nice if I could "activate" the hoodie so I can have the head protection as well without having to make extra items.

Overpowered Halloween professions vs Black Road Max spawn rate. Who would win?

Ideas for other bionic related professions.

Bionic Handyman: Having scrimped and saved for years, you had just gotten an Integrated Toolset installed before the cataclysm struck. Sadly, you lack any sort of power supply, but perhaps those electric zombies could help.  Starts with: Integrated toolset, some construction related clothes, but not extra storage. Costs maybe 2-3 points.

Bionic Hoodlum: Your buddies managed to knock over a Bionic shipping truck, and you snaggeg yourself a nifty little firestarter/finger laser and a power supply that runs off booze. Perfect for lighting things on fire. Starts with: Hoodie, Either the firestarter or finger laser, ethanol burner, and a small amount of power.

Bionic Soldier: A secret military project gave you adamantium claws and medical nanomachines, right before the cataclysm struck and you escaped. Now, you just hope you can keep walking long enough to use them. Starts with:Adamantium claws, Repair Nanites, Joint Torsion ratchet. Costs 4-5 points.

Bionic Sunbather: You always enjoyed sunbathing, so you made the most of it. Internal climate controls and a facial distorter to always look your best, powered by the sun. You just wonder if the zombies will notice your lovely tan. Starts with, Bathing suit, Internal Climate controls, Facial Distorter, Solar Panels.

Also, stealth edit. Yes. It makes the professions quite nice and usable. Makes it possible to start with really high skills in some things without having to spend excessive points.

Could I request a feature of an asterix at the edge of the visible map on the left that denotes where the suicide machine is pointed? It would also be helpful for larger cars when they get one tick off dead center.

Edit: In other news, a shopping cart mounted with a large electric motor, controls, a reinforced solar panel, and a storage battery can go 240 odd mph and smash through houses like they didn't exist.

Edit2: And you can still drag it around behind you.

Edit: What might help is, once we get skill decay to a state that isn't horrible, having bought skills in the early game increase skill gain and reduce skill decay. A survivor who started with 4 ranks in Marksmanship has a real aptitude for the skill, and would learn it more readily and forget it less frequently than a survivor who only took it up because the food had a tendency to run faster than he could.
That might work. Drop it down to 1 point per 1 skill rank, and make them work like fast learner, with the effect being cumulative for each point you put in. So, 1 point would be about 1/3 of fast learner, 3 would be equal to it, and 6 would be a double dose of fast learner, but just for that skill.

Also, I have the strangest sight of, if this is implemented, someone taking self defense training for krav maga, 1 in every stat, shower victim, and then throwing every single point possible into unarmed combat and starting at like 30 and getting another rank every time he hit something.

How much of an issue would it be, balance wise, to drop skills to just 1 point per 2 levels? For instance, Bionic Patient gives you hydraulic muscles, blood sensors, and metabolic interchange + 10 power for 4 points. Would an 8 in, say, archery be equal to that?

Tried it again, still unable to survive past the first few hours.

I'd enjoy this game if I was actually capable of surviving.

We'd really love to help you with whatever is getting you stuck. What's getting you killed? Zombies? Disease? Food/water?
Zombies. I try to get food, equipment and whatever, see a zombie, run, suddenly, zombies coming at me from EVERY FUKKEN DIRECTION!
A single zombie is not a threat, even to a character with zero points in anything, aside from the default 8 stats. Find a bush, lure it onto it, then punch it twice. If not dead, retreat, find second bush, punch it there. If still not dead, retreat to first bush. You are faster then a zombie, though not greatly so. However, bushes and windows are the great levelers. If you can find a single window and a nice bashing tool, you can take on almost indefinite numbers of regular zombies out of the gate. With some training, a window can yet you take on any of the non ranged zombies plus boomers. Being unable to see is a pain, but if you know a horde is coming through one point, you just hold your ground and smack em as they appear next to you.

I like archery, so should you!
Archer 3 + Mechanics 3 = repeating crossbow. A wonder of modern enginering. Silent, with common ammo once you knock up fabrication a bit. The tricky bit is finding a spring, but keep an eye out for trap piles and you can just dismantle a bear trap for one.

The wraith problem is remedied is by having multiple layers of solid walls and no backwall behind them.

Or having a skyfort that has its base built on a hill.
Or rope. Rope is probably one of the best utility additions to the game.

It won't, but magical staffs are actually pretty crappy weapons. If you have the appropriate elemental (and weapon) skill trained they can do decent damage, but they don't really scale (as you can never enchant them). That said, they are probably better then nothing for a pure caster.
From what I understand, something like a staff of fire with 27 in fire skill is a fairly potent weapon for not investing anything in it, except maybe a few levels in staves. Is it equal to a triple sword of holy wrath? No. But as a caster weapon they're pretty bad ass.

I melee'd a Jabberwock. With my crowbar. I won with half a bar of torso HP.

Should have tried a Snickers Snack.
New food item:Snickers bar.

New line of code for jabberwocks. If hit with snickers bar, die.

I prefer narrow vehicles to wider ones. Personally, motorcycles are my go to choice. Much easier to squeeze down alleys and between wrecks, though you dont get the good sweeping action. I might try to weld on a sweep of blades next time I do a run through town with one, as blades just fall off when they break.

Kevin (azmodean) is actually working on an aiming system right now that should allow for just this, where you can wait small amounts of time in order to bring down your recoil.
Would the system allow for negative recoil, as I think that is what he is asking for, effectively.
