I was doing poultry, from chicken to frozen chicken, then off to a supermarket.
That seems like a pretty standard setup to me?

You say it should be harder to get off the ground, but I've been playing this company for a couple of months and I'm JUST scraping a gain.

Wait, there's LESS zombies at night?
This will change my game significantly! No longer will I constantly be chsed out of town by ridiculous hordes of zoombies (seriously, how is a corpse so FAST?).

Are any plans for settling the caverns being...um...planned? If not, GreatWyrmMithril will suggest it.
I'm pretty sure my dorf could put it forwards. IF there's a title of caverns operations manager. That is completely superfluous and the holder of which knows very lttle about what's REALLY going on.

And then there's be an easy mode too, lands of fortresses. Probably they'd have faster construction+digging.

Basically just keep rolling out with new characters until you get one that starts near a good area with hardware stores, army surplus etc.

I think that it being a problem is kind of the point? Without problems it would just be a big set of third-person legos with booze.

You shouldn't really be able to send out a herd of dogs, trained to be aggressive, through a herd of sheep or whatever without said herbivore being understandably scared. If they just ignored each other it would be suspending my disbelief to a rather large degree. It also ruins the mental imagery of a pack of murderous dogs charging through a field when there's some grazing animals just sat there calmly.

They had all of those FEATURES AND THINGS! Like the aquatic thing, different sense modes etc. Then they scrapped all of the plans because it might be confusing. EA, wy must you these things to us?

Anyway, cell will always be the best stage because there was a level of stratergy involved on placing parts etc. The other stages are all basically:
"Use ability, backpedal/move to next target, use ability", which is a load of brass if you ask me. That is not what the game promised.
Normally this would be a derail, but it's kind of on topic here. I think?

To make sure it is, see how far you can go just in cell. It's the most fun mode (Playing civ full economy possibly excluded) and is also a decent challenge.

Ah whoops, didn't see the thing about posting character sheets before I just made my post in the thread just now.

Spoiler: Character desc/summary (click to show/hide)

EDIT: Wow I suck at tags.

1. Sorry about that one, I was imagining something similar to double evac shelter or so, the way you were describing having studies. Nontheless, a large moving residence is basically what I had in mind, as in, it has all of the luxuries of modern life (with the exception of toilets I guess. But that's what holes are for!), but with some crowded engine rooms at the back tht are generally unpleasant.
2.I guess that's more a taste thing then, in that modularization is very much a thing I like. Just to allow for a little more redundancy.

I've never actually touched this mod before though, so I know jack all about how the fine mechanics are; but plasma engines sound universally cool as far as I know.

You have beautiful plans. Just expand the death-machine. Although, roads are limited in size. You don't want something so big you can't go through towns... do you?
Barring that, have you ever read the "mortal engines" series of books? They're somewhat simple to read but they have a good story. Basically it's about how all of the cities started mobilizing themselves, and eventually almost everyone had to because of competition. Also all of the Americas died. Sorry.
So yeah, you should just expand it until it is pretty much going to last you forever, then start work on another one from it, and build multiple varieties of murdertruck to use (Scout, carrier etc) and dock them all inside. Then use your huge armament to rape the landscape and/or cities and just hoard everything in it, perhaps a survivor in the future might find it once your time is up. Obviously, they'll have to so as to not die. Seeing as it will have pretty much everything.

OOC IN IC. BAN HE!!!!
In all seriousness though, the only person in the fort who would think this to be happening would be Corai, and guess who's constantly crying wolf to the other dwarves?
I don't think preperation will be a thing that anyone would be doing. More than usual anyway.

On a preperation related note though, are cavern explorations a thing that are still happening or was that a one-off?

((Approximately a 3 hour walk away from Moscow city))

The youngish man set about methodically searching for useful stones to use. He was getting somewhat frustrated with the lack of stones suitable for knapping, most regions had something that could be fashioned into something that could be called an edge. Sighing, he decided he'd have to use something like snares, at least he carried materials for those around. He fashioned the few sticks he'd collected into something resembling a point and slipped them through his belt, just in case. Carefully assembling several sticks and thread to make snares, he placed them around holes that could be burows, and pulled out the two mess tins that he knew from experience made the loudest noise.

While he prepared his positions for scaring the prey into his traps, the man thought about what it would be like taking up long-term residence somewhere again. There was money, but he was pretty sure he had enough of that. Then there was paperwork. That could be problematic. He remembered very little about what these would need. Forms need things like addresses, perhaps not for lodgings? Contact details, he had an email account, not that he frequently had opportunity to use it. Any proof of citizenship would be difficult to come up with, though he did have a section in his satchel dedicated to miscellaneous documents, so that should hopefully be fine.
And then there was a name. He hadn't needed a name in a while, and he didn't like using the same name every time. The one on his passport was out, his documents too. Not like such a cheap place probably checks. Still though, having a name is important. Nothing is less trustworthy than someone who refuses to give a name.
Thinking about it for a minute, he decided on Tyson perhaps. It's a reasonable name, and at the same time not so generic as to sound fake. Tyson what though? Surnames were traditionally based on profession right? Well, is surviving really a profession? Thinking about his previous problems, the man smiled to himself. That would do nicely.
The newly self-named Tyson Flint checked over his traps one last time.

Graknorke's Journal

I was thinking about those rings that seem to be coming up. If you look at them, the outside can spin around the inside with minimal friction. Think about it, if you could maybe affix the inside onto something... you could move heavy things a lot faster! Certainly faster than carrying them or pulling them along the ground anyway.
*Under the message are crude images of spinning rings affixed to various items. The most frequent show containers, full of either alchohol or weapons*
As well as that, I could write more about the caverns trip but honestly, I don't think think that Fishybang will ever let me forget any detail of what happened, so I don't see a need to record it. What future me, were you under the impression that you wrote this for future generations to find as a message? I'm just as selfish now as you were and don't you forget it.
