((Counterpoint: There's three bunkers firing at three boats, so if you land a WP round right in front of Bunker 2 very few people will be shooting at you, at least in theory. Furthermore, as Dev mentioned before, Czech Hedgehogs make for poor cover, and are the best available, on top of being outnumbered by infantry. Finally, "cover" is not a thing which even appears in the OP and may not be simulated in the system, which would make sense considering how ineffective the MGs were at shooting a group of massed people outside of cover, and the increasing-risk system of prolonged combat. Though, to be fair, the OP does say that we only perish upon reaching zero life die, despite that die starting at zero and only getting penalties from there, so it's unclear how much we can trust it.))I think -3 equals death
((Oh hey, I forgot that tank hunters get smoke rounds! Firing those at the enemy bunkers is a really good idea. Far better than trying to find cover on a mostly empty and flat beach, or trying to take a snapshot at a person in a fortified bunker... Sadly, it seems that not a single person on your boat has heavy rifle skill, which M18s use for... some reason. Ah well.((Um this is not a smoke round this is a white phosphorous round aka BURN EVERYTHING while being impossible to extinguish))
...Twinwolf? You have the other M18.))
Gonna start stocking up on these...Good idea but do we have a different one for people losing there minds?Spoiler (click to show/hide)
This looks cool! o_o (Hello Piecewise!)Um everyone knows first aid and has supplies for it but you need special equipment to make use of the medical skill you have. Not a real problem as its D-day and you can just loot another medics gear but still.
...On a very brief search, there's only have 2 snipers and 2 medics?
Woo! Probably going to be a reserve.Spoiler (click to show/hide)I'm not a walking bush, I'm a slowly crawling pile of sand (or at least, I will be once I manage to get off of the boat and onto the beach). There are camouflage kits for these--even possibly improvised, however landing in a known location means...camouflage won't work as a stealth roll.
Volunteering, despite being hilariously inappropriate for the mission, because I can always just respawn. What are you talking about? If you can snipe a gunner that is one less gun to worry about at least for a little while.Spoiler: Simon Smith, Sniper (click to show/hide)
Edit: Oh, Twinwolf, a recoilless rifle is a rocket launcher. Not an anti-materiel rifle. You use Explosives skill to fire it, rather than Heavy Rifle.
Okay, so, for this mission, I'll need a... "special" camouflage "suit".Mate What the hell are thoughs?Yarrick points at the modified landmines then turning to the officer Can I be in a different squad then him please?
Cover my (uniformed) body (except for my hands and face) in glue. Faceplant into some grass, then backplant into some sand. Apply grass-like camouflage to my face and one side of my hands, and sand-like camouflage to the other side of my hands. Take a grass-like (with real, glued-on grass, perhaps?) cloak/trenchcoat (with a hood) with me, but wear/put it underneath my normal uniform so that it doesn't show. The top of my head, the soles of my feet, my armpits, etc. should be sandy, by the way. My explosives, ration containers, and magazines should be painted sandy on one side and painted grassy on the other. My gun should be painted sandy on its left side side and painted grassy on the other.
The idea here is to crawl prone and face-down over the open field of sand, then stand up, put on my cloak, and go into a "normal" stealth stance once I'm hidden in the grassy area. My gun should be held in my left hand with the sandy side up as I'm crawling in the sand, then held with my left hand on the front bit and my right hand on the back bit once I'm in the grassy area.Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Alright.I think explosives would be used for a howitzer as it is very explosiveNow the question is: Did I do this right.Spoiler (click to show/hide)
And what skill would apply to attempts to use fire a howitzer?
Will we have something like the Armory in ER that will allow us to obtain unusual, or more expensive items, or extra ammo for a specific mission?
Forgot we had some metal men on board. Knock yourself out"Doesn't the diver summon enemies? Why send him first?""Because the gas could kill more people and the divers enemies can only target the diver who is good at protecting them self
"Did you miss the rock monster in the crystal cave? That was brought in by some diver who thought we didn't have enough enemies. And if the monster kills the divers, all you other meatbags get to die from something you can't fight back against.
And man, that rock monster was good at beating up meatbags. Really good.
What you need is someone who isn't a meatbag, and doesn't have to breathe. I'll go do it."
Go head to the airlock and make sure there are no meatbags around before opening the door. At least no meatbags that aren't too dumb to leave.Spoiler: Bargthor-47 (click to show/hide)
