The first death occurred. 'Plop' died of thirst, and thirst is worse than homesickness!

Son of a bitch!

It seems Terry has leaked into reality. What have we done?

Wow, this place is getting pretty fucked up.

Seeing the madness that makes Voidspawn devour themselves, I wouldn't be surprised if his computer burst into flames.

I've added myself to the list of those who wish to be Dorf'd. This was too good of an opportunity to pass up.

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: What is your stance on idlers?
« on: June 20, 2013, 06:31:22 pm »
I typically have a ratio for two idlers for every dwarf that is busy. So in a fort of ~90 dwarves, 60 are throwing a party in the massive dining hall, and 30 are doing odd jobs like farming and mining. Yea, i am horribly inefficient.

Buckets are the fastest thing in the game! You should see the speed at which my dwarves kick them!

That's the funniest thing I have read all morning. Bravo!

You make traps at a Mechanics Workshop. You need to make trap components out of them. You get coal by bituminous coal. You might be able to get it by burning wood for coal too.

The only way I know of is to make them wear a bland tunic first, and after they have it on, make them wear the blue tunic. [

I think the best thing you can do is let him die peacefully in the bed, and move into a massive tomb next to the magma sea, surrounded by piles upon piles of gold coins, statues, and any other valuable shit you can find. If you have some war animals that are pretty badass, have them guard the tomb for the rest of their lives. All his armor and weapons are now to be retired and placed next to his tomb. While you put in the last few touches, put a lot of goblins in cages over a retracting bridge over the magma sea, and drop them in there to commemorate his achievements. Also, put a memorial to every important figure, like a forgotten beast, that he's killed. SPARE NO EXPENSE, HE IS A KING AMONG MEN.

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: How did your fortress die?
« on: December 11, 2012, 06:50:01 pm »
My current fort is probably going to die, due to a bad case of Dragon. He spawned on the top of a mountain that my fort was on, so as per usual I just huddled everyone into the fort and put the civilians on a burrow and put the military into the hallways. I intended for only the marksquad to go into combat, because I would seal off the entrance and shoot at it through the fortifications. However... Once the gate was closed, he burnt it to the ground. As a result, the Dragon butchers a hunter next to the gate and runs into the fortress itself. The Marksdwarves volley about 30 bolts into the Dragon, putting him mostly into the red, but he only needed to breath once. Thankfully, the booze shouldn't be next to the gate.

It was. In an instant, he obliterates my melee squad with dragonfire, and as he does, a caravan of Drow (Masterwork DF) arrives from the far side of the map. After taking a few more hails of bolts, he then rips them apart. And then wanders into the dining room of wood furniture, and kills another 15 of my dwarves. Fast forward a couple minutes, the drow distract him long enough for him to bleed out. Now, out of the original ~155, 12 miserable Dwarves are left running around trying to repair the damage. Which of course, consists of them hopefully not throwing tantrums and putting any refuse away before it turns into miasma. It doesn't look good.

In spite of being Goblins that we all know and hate, they are probably the best King and Queen out of any civilization this game has created. They must live forever! THEY MUST.
