I've waited an infinite ammount of turns after I conquered all the bases, the AI keeps on collecting "free" gold, attacks me, I own the AI big time, rinse and repeat for ever. I have tons upon tons of gold yet I haven't been declared the winner. I also moved the dialog boxes checking to see if I was missing a hidden base for that was one of my concerns but still a no-no. I will uninstall the game completely and reinstall it, perhaps there is something crazy going on. Perhaps I'll consider to wait until the game's release to play it again.

DF General Discussion / Re: Random dwarf fortress based animation

Found the animation pretty good, specially the last scene, hehehe. Remind me of the innate fear of catsplosions in the dwarvekind.

I've seen how in the UFC these fighters tend to do double hand attacks when they are trying to confuse the opponent before putting them into submission. Now, standing, one attack attack that comes to my mind is a flying double kick or a spinning double kick. Anyway, having an encounter with a Hydra will be epic now, for one of their attacks will eradicate my dwarves faster than my migrants can replace them.

Wow! Since it was released, I was playing the game in a daily basis for over a hundred hours, got my character pumped as an arrow-one-hand attk -magician and it was an epic experience. Did (to my knowledge) all of the quests and it was lots of fun. Found the main quest a little easier/shorter than I espected. My favorite part was the dragon battles of course, and the assasinations were pretty neat too but too repetitive sadly :-\.

Anybody else's screen flash red whenever the brain is damaged? It's very annoying, is it a bug or a feature?
Probably it's a warning feature. Your brain shouldn't be getting damaged often...

Yes, it's a warning. At first I was like "what the heck is flashing, is it crashing?" but then I got owned and realized that the flashing is, in a way, the brain's call for help.

Playing the latest release here (27). Why on the campaign mode, even tought I own all the sites and plenty of gold oz and the AI none, I never get the "Win" message? The enemy, even without any sites, keep on getting gold and attaking me, their money keeps on increasing by the turn, and is just like a massive loop in which I just quit enraged :-[. Is it a bug of sorts?

Other Games / Re: Humble Bundle V - Moar Games!

I did the same, so far I have bought all of the Humble Bundles and I just do the direct install option thingy. But I can also understand if some guys prefer to have kind of like a indie steam collection or a library  of indie games, which is kinda neat if you ask me. Let's see what the HB 6 will bring us!

Gnomonia looks pretty good to me. Dwarf Fortress is the king yet having other games that are inspired "clones" of DF is sweet. Goblin Camp is also another example but Gnomonia's interface is kinda neat if you ask me.

DF General Discussion / Re: DF Talk: Playstyles and You

My playstyle gravitates around gamist, simulationist and constructionist styles according into what mood I'm into in that specific gameplay season. That's why DF is so cool, it has so many ways to be played.

Looks neat! I'm loving my new laptop background, thanks!

ASCII graphics are my preferable choice. All the popular graphics sets are pretty epic, and mixing sets with TileGenie is neat too but I always bounce back to the beloved ASCII.

DF General Discussion / Re: How did you find Dwarf Fortress?
« on: March 31, 2012, 10:44:04 am »
In 2008 I was checking the Mount&Blade forums, there some guys were talking wonders about DF. Read the whole thread and was impressed at how many things you could do in the game. Tried it myself and died had FUN so many times that I postponed it for a later time so that I can learn the "mechanics" of the game in the dfwiki . Then found the captnduck videos on youtube and followed along and got totally hooked.
