Is there a way to turn a party fight into a set of 1v1s? Hall of mirrors spell?

just started Dark Souls Remastered, which I’m trying to go into as blindly as I can, in this day and age
but it’s a blast, so far, and the raw terror of losing your souls and humanities is overwhelming
interesting to see the greater emphasis on blocking and parrying compared to Elden Ring, too

I don't know hardly anything about typing setups but that one looks obnoxious. Just gonna cram the brackets in the middle of the letters, really?

"What about you?" Kedia starts for the door.
"Time is of the essence, of course, but we can talk on the way there. What did you dream of?"

"Hope is a good emotion. Hold on to that."

Kedia stands over the body and psychically inspects it.

Ah, my search for lore has born fruit. Craftworld Kaelor had a whole civil war thousands of years ago with a splinter faction of eldar rejecting the Paths and instead doing a hedonism. So Kedia has indeed seen eldar heretics in person and probably fought them.

Backstory trauma unlocked, aw yea.

Assuming she's from Kaelor, but I might as well assume that right.

A little metagamey, but Indaria was wearing the artifact at the time she died. Though Stirk could probably recon that if preferred.

I think it would be more in line with Stirk's GMing style to see what happens if the thing gets unknowingly tossed into a furnace because Marco ordered the crew to not touch the corpse, though.

"I can assist with that. If the incinerator doesn't burst into unholy flames and unleash a daemon, then we may wish to search the ashes as well."

Poor creature. Though she had not known Indaria long enough to call her a friend, the human has made for a good...
What's a better word than pet?
Regardless, the girl seemed to have a good head on her shoulders. Too practical to mess up like this, or so Kedia had assumed. Perhaps in the future, she would need to devote more energy to guiding these humans. One thing still seems strange, though.

"You said that she confessed to you. Why?"

Kedia frowns, though her helmet doesn't show anything. Who does this alien think he is, bringing up something like that? And does he want clarification, or comfort?

The request brings to mind memories which may be best unsaid, and even worse stories which should at most be whispered. The answer to that question was a fulcrum which moved the fate of the galaxy millennia before Marco's species left the trees.

She subconsciously tenses up, unhappy to be reminded of chaos so soon after dealing with that demon. She answer doesn't have to be complicated, though. Dumb it down into Gothic so the alien can understand, and don't bring up anything that the likely-armed chaplain would complain about.
"Yes." The eldar gives the answer stood stock-still at pseudo-attention.

((Stirk hasn't PMed me in a while, just gonna presume that my demon let me wake up without incident.))

Kedia arrives in the incinerator room wearing full armor and a chainsword at her hip. And crude cat ears perched atop her helmet.
"Present. What requires my valuable attention, Lord Captain?"

Ge'gyanog

Somewhat dumbfounded that the Avatar of a god came here without knowledge of the darkness, Ar'qita responds. "In this context, 'The Darkness' is a physical manifestation of a metaphysical force of entropy which either has an ethical framework that is antithetical to our own or simply nonexistent. It is the reason why there are no worlds that are older than our own generation. In the age of Genesis, our patron deities came to an agreement to collaborate in the fight against the Darkness and it is the reason I have come here. The way in which is manifests in this world is different from my homeland, so the analytical data I have collected in our skirmish is the extent of what I know about the local iteration of it."
"Where'd it come from? It didn't used to be here!"

Mafia / Re: FBYOR 6 aka Personalized Invitation Mafia (9 / 9+)

Well, judging by how we're already at the minimum player count, I'd say the invitation approach works pretty well.

I'll keep sending out more invitations and accepting signups until, I dunno, Monday or Tuesday. At that point, it'll be onto setup and role design.

I'll try to prune the complexity a bit compared to my past setups, but this is still going to be a BYOR, so.
How do you plan on trimming down the complexity with that role I sent you? :D

Lots of things are dead or made out of things which are dead, so I guess it's less exhausting to just say "this structure has died and let's not worry too much about what it is now."
After all, all of you was once chemicals which were in something that died. Are you dead? If not, death is something in the past.

Especially since, as much as I actually like Egan, I don't think this attitude is exactly mutual,
look do you want me to call you weird and dangerous or not
