Volume when speaking of him also helps attract his attention. I wouldn't reccommend it though, last I checked he was a paranoid ass with abandonment issues and insatiable ambition.
Not really a bad sort amongst most of the gods, but still.

I laughed.

While on this topic of God and religion, I've been watching a Facebook debate on the ages of people in the Bible being real. As in Noah and whatever living for 900+ years.

Everyone in the post is absolutely convinced the Bible is a literal story about the way things used to be. The whole thing, literal. Hard, cold, facts.

Call me cynical and whatever, but a book that is "the word of God" as written and edited by man over thousands of years and countless languages will have some error, author/translator bias, etc etc etc. Can't get involved with their debate, cuz we all know what happens when you argue with Christians about their faith.

(I am religious, sort of. Just feel that God is more of a force outside our understanding, and gets a kick out of watching things happen. Kind of like eldritch horror / Dark Souls god-beings. Maybe all-powerful, masters of stuff and all, but really don't care about a infinitesimal black speck on a tiny blue speck in the cosmos-at-large.)

Undead siege and 3 goblin ambush squads were dealt with.

Oh, not good enough? Most of the military was stark naked because I changed around the squads and they dropped their gear, then got stationed for battle before gearing up properly.

Yeah, naked dwarves killed 100+ zombies plus a squad of marksgoblins and a squad of meleegoblins, and didn't take a scratch.

C, just write what you want. I sat through a literature class a year ago, and you'd be surprised the crazy stories (and methods of writing) that exist, and are used by real, published authors.

Copper is good enough for starting out with, but masterwork copper gear with legendary melee fighters is mire than enough in vanilla. Sure, it's not as strong or sharp as iron, bronze or steel, but since you really don't run into full iron-wearing enemies in vanilla copper is fine.

Major undead siege showed up and was promptly dealt with by the 40 odd members of the militia. Still haven't made them any better armor or weapons, but apparently copper gear doesn't matter. Would be nice to give them something better, but i'm still trying to get enough steel produced for armor, then mine some candy for the edged weapon users. Also still trying to build the magma pumpstack, but RL keeps getting in the way (work  work -as said by orc peon in WC3)

A few walls and doors should do the trick... Just depends on how many random haulers and masons you have available

Awesome, thanks a ton vjek. Should be able to get similar results on a bigger map, now that I know what parameters to play with.

Today - work morning shift, come home and change, go to wife's grandparents house for Christmas Eve meal + presents, go to bed early

Tomorrow - work morning shift, go to the wife's other grandparents for Christmas dinner and watch kids fight over cool new toys

I don't remember if it was a flat obsidian desert/badland or just obsidian present being discussed, but either would be good, preferably the one with obsidian on the surface. Doesn't really matter, just had a thought while playing my current fort. Biome and resources dont matter, i'm more curious as to the circumstances they form under and couldn't find the posts about them.

I saw talk on here a while ago about obsidian deserts... Anyone have a seed for one, or can point me in the right direction to create one?

I've told her I want to actually talk about stuff like this, face to face but she has issues with talking about feely stuff face to face. Past relationship issues caused it I guess.

Just bothers me she will refuse to talk to ME and instead vent to everyone on Facebook. Not much different than this I suppose...

on the plus side, she doesn't stay mad for long, and we usually resolve things without major arguments and fights, which we both hate because our parents both did that, and ended up divorced.

Go Christmas shopping with the wife, get bored because all we are doing is looking at clothes so I check my phone. She sees this, takes my facial expression as annoyance that she is still shopping, and gets pissy. Gets real quiet, walks fast, tells me to put "that thing" back. I assume this means the last gift in the cart, so I put it back and catch up to her. She then says "lets go" and she sees what is still in the cart and gets more irritated. Walk through register, pay, load up the car, get home. Find out she can't say anything to me (which would completely solve the problem, because we would be able to talk about it) but can vent on Facebook to anyone who cares to look.

I'm sorry, I don't buy clothes for people, because I don't want to get them something that they feign appreciation for and return to the store. I also don't buy everyone I know a whole bunch of gifts, because one: I'm poor as shit and two: the last 10 years I've either had at most 3 gifts that meant something, or was overseas and didn't get gifts and just worked like it was any other day.

I hate Christmas. Sometimes.

When faced with good critters and poor trainers, I just let the trainer have only one job, training. Then he sits and maintains a decent level of training on an animal and gets more skilled. Then when babies pop out, some of them end up tame. Did that with crundles once. Think cats are bad? Heheh

And to think I thought I was traumatized by my mom sitting on my chest with a wash cloth and yanking a canine out because three adult ones grew in in front of the baby ones, and it was going to cost quite a bit for general anesthesia at a hospital for them to be removed...

That was the result of my dentist attempting to knock me out with some drugs, then putting nitrous on me. I woke up and started punching. Only 10 or so and I got kicked out of a dentist.

Not even having my wisdom teeth pulled compares. I told the Navy docs that story, and they recommended a civilian doc for the procedure, who drugged me and had all 4 out in half an hour, and I was back in bed high on hydrocodone and on bed rest (rarity in the marines) for another 4 days.

Oh my... I didn't think anyone from the modern generation could be so incredibly dense... I guess she never had to do any actual WORK before, so that might be a bit more acceptable, but still...
