Can't post any screenshots right now, since I'm in class, but I have NO rock nuts at all in my stockpile, stock's screen, or kitchen screen. Wanderers Friend is installed, but only the part for adventure mode basic crafting. Afaik, that has no impact on rock nuts. Every other plant I process leaves seeds, just not quarry bushes. I'll take wanderers friend out when i get home, see if that it causing the issue, but I've had rock nuts show up after processing even with it added...

OK, so the wiki states "Processing quarry bushes at a farmer's workshop requires one bag, and will produce 5 quarry bush leaves (and one rock nut) for every plant in a given stack of quarry bushes".

It seems my quarry bushes are not leaving behind rock nuts AT ALL after processing. No rock nuts are present in the stocks screen, kitchen screen, or if I watch my little drone dwarf rip leaves off the bush, a rock nut should be present when I view the workshop with (t)... but no rock nut is there.

I've noticed this the last few forts I've had, and I'm not sure if this supposed to be happening. I checked the bug tracker, and nothing is present there about this, so either I'm one of the few to see a bug or its supposed to be happening and the wiki is wrong.

At least the mountainhome is paying 200% more for prepared meals next year... now to just pump out some ¤Quarry bush leaf Roast¤ and buy more rock nuts  :P

Find a suitable rock to make a hand axe. With it, we could cut some wood, skin and gut animals, and have a generally useful tool.

That too, just a nice piece of rock that will hold an edge should work, no need for a fancy handle when you have one of the best natural levers already attached to your body.

So examine nearby trees, pay special attention to the bark and how it looks, feels, and comes off the trunks. If anything is appropriately paper-like, we can use that

Good Armok... dragonfire is a little over 4 times as hot as the surface of the sun? Yeah, totally didn't know that. Funny how it can be blocked by a XXWooden ShieldXX...

Also, tell him that you didn't want Datan to die, but you need his advice, then submit to him, and promise him that you will feed him goblin souls soon enough.

All this.

Boy, he sure is unhelpful... and enabling.

Ask Hammerface for advice, preferably the life-changing variety ala Dr.Phil.

Especially since (we) PinkySlugMan, aka Disappointment, is depressed over the loss of Datan and the general hopelessness of the situation.

My dorfs apparently have a thing for nuts... my entire supply of rock nuts has been eaten raw... its the only way I can explain the loss of 50+ rock nuts. At least I got a few good meals out of the leaves, so I can buy more

Do it anyways!

If we are dead, why is Tumor still pink?

If truly dead, become ghost and exact revenge on goblins.

If not dead, regenerate wounds like Wolverine, then proceed to use our "death" as cover for our activites...

Or, challenge Death to a game of Battleship, then when we win and he wants a rematch, play Twister, then on from there ala Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey.

Pretty sure chicks don't give any meat, just a skull and maybe some bones. The yearlings give a little meat, and bones, while the older ones (2 years I think) give the max amount of meat and bones.

Been playing Adventure Mode quite a bit lately, decided I should learn the ASCII and stop handicapping myself with tilesets. Only thing that drives me nuts so far is the rectangular nature of a tile.

Borrowed a map from the 2012 Worldgen Cookbook, found an area that looked exciting. Joyous Wilds Temperate Shrubland, Terrifying Temperate Conifer Forest, and and Untamed Wilds Badlands. The badlands and conifer forest have a 3-z deep aquifer layer, while he whole embark has sand, clay, lignite and hematite, flux and bituminous coal - mostly right under the aquifer.

Had to adjust the advanced parameters a bit, I don't like shallow cavern levels, even though they provide plenty of Fun. I like to dig out my fort from the bones of the earth, not use existing space and polish everything as I dig deeper. Also adjusted the region interactions so I had some evil weather, just to ensure I have Fun.

Pretty much. The same combat log will show up, under the name of the creature that fell on them, plus whatever injuries they sustain from the fall.

3rd goblin siege showed up, right on the heels of the human caravan. This marks the 3rd time caravans have been raided before they got to my depot, and the first and second titan attack.  The titans thinned the 130+ unit siege by 20 or so before dying.

The trap corridor was finished as the titans invaded. Rows of cage traps for training, then menacing spike traps for the survivors of the cage traps.

The 4-dwarf military decided to rush out the entrance to the trap area to pick up some shiny steel gear dropped by the human merchants. They ran right into 4 squads of goblins, each well equipped and experienced. I had no hope for the lone dwarves, and prepared to close the emergency exit.

In a cloud of arrows, blood and flying severed limbs, the goblins vanished into the darkness. A few minutes later, the 4 dwarves walked back into their barracks with grins on their faces and covered in blood. Not a single injury was seen on them.

The goblin siege fled after this, and the victims of the cage traps are being sorted and we have yet to decide what to do with them. Maybe a drop of death, or arena combat...
