Indeed.

...'I am a forest, and a night of dark trees: but he who is not afraid of my darkness, will find banks full of roses under my cypresses.' So let us hope he wasn't misguided.

Yeah. I guess all this rest wasn't a waste of time, after all. Still, I don't think I can run yet. Well, a progress nonetheless! Maurice smiles behind his faceplate as he speaks in a cheerful tone.

2673
(( Should be. But why would you need one? I mean, it seems that Con is the only skill which has no 'non-lethal' application, and you can't possibly screw with overkilling (apart from very few selected situations, I believe), can you? :P

EDIT: Ninja'd :) ))

Get some lanterns and ropelight. See if there's anything I could use to make a couple of crutches.
(( Did Gorat lose his in that accident in the Tower? I cannot remember. ))
Maybe we could assemble a makeshift crutch or two from these spare parts, how do you think?

2675
(( Yeah, that pretty much sums it up. Well, we could try and create laser weaponry based on pulse lasers (as compared to continious lasers currently in use), and for those the concept of rate of fire would be valid.

Oh, and yes, laser cannons are lovely :3 The cutting laser with increased power input and/or an additional array of lenses, maybe? ))

Ah, we did? Waking from his dream Maurice slightly blushes, practically all but discernibly, given his natural tan, and lowers the visor rather fast. The Graveyard is ahead, if I remember correctly. We have to stay on guard - well, even more so than anywhere in this anomaly we've been to before.
(( I assume that I've already switched on the suit's 'non-vital systems' as a part of 'prepare for moving out' action from before - I've talked since then, after all. If that isn't true, I switch them on now. ))
Move out of the elevator. Stay wary of the surroundings.
Check the condition of my legs with a slightest exercise. Have it improved since yesterday?
Take an air sample, label it.

What a pleasant view!.. ... ... ... ...Nah.
Sleep. Dream of the picturesque view I could see were it not for the all-enveloping blackness outside, obscuring the true beauty of the Fall.

2678
I suppose so. 30 miles is a long way down, after all.

2679
((@piecewise 'Matter manipulator'=Matter Converter PK amp or Mass Manipulation PK Amp? Asking because Jim has the same ambigous entry in his inventory in the cheatsheet, and somehow I doubt that one is the same device as which the Armory Master was using. ))

((Goddamnit, AM. Even if the ship somehow exploded, the only thing remaining would be the AM, floating in a bubble of oxygen and idly reading her magazine.))
(( So true... :P ))

2680
(( On the second thought, I guess so. I don't think we are fit for any large-scale operations as of now, especially that large-scale. ))

2681
Well, worth trying. And, actually, I hope that we'll be able to find another one in the Lost Citadel. I wonder, though, would its powers still function outside this anomaly, in the outer world?

((@Spinal_Taper The reason above, and I'm currently thinking of a way we could possibly set up an ambush for the Wyrm and its inhabitants. Maybe request a megatonne charge from Steve?.. Nay, at best we could try overloading the MFM, and even then it probably won't do much damage, since the heat waves part of the explosion will be missing. ))

My bad. In my defence I can only say that a thorough explanation was called for, and I answered that call. And even then I tried to be quick and curb the less important facts.
Which reminds me of something I might have omitted: the key to using the staff is to strike the fork. Wielding the item yourself, while helpful, can possibly be circumvented - I hit the staff's forked head with a small rock, and then the sandstone beneath my feet shifted a bit for a moment.

2683
Well, it all started when we - Thomas - got that tuning fork from the ruined third floor. I don't remember, were you with us at that moment? I was a bit distracted then, a bit busy with doctoring Faith and Gorat from another small accident.
At about the same time strange black ink was discovered by Faith - I don't know much about it, ask her if you want. Thomas came to take a sample of that ink, I believe, then... well, somehow he fell and 'absorbed' the ink. After a minute or so of him struggling against it, that thing took him over and engulfed in 'black-flame' - in essence, made him a Lighteater (he ate light for at least once, as I can confirm). Then he took that tuning fork and used it to shapeshift and control the sandstone around him, and to call for something big (well, at that moment we could only hear the ground trembling).
We tried to oppose him, but not-Thomas-thing seemed to just shrug off any piece of matter we sent into it - it ate Charro's blade-hat, for exampe. In the end, Gorat managed to deal some damage to it with his microwave amp, and the thing made itself a new body out of sandstone boulders with its staff, and abandoned Thomas for this new 'host'.
Then the colossal something - I guess it was the aforementioned Wyrm - finally came, and turned out to be a giant moving city, bore on the back of a huge thing (worm? snake?) seemingly made of the same ubiquitous metallic material and sporting the same patterns in its 'growths'. The Lighteater, still holding the tuning fork-staff in his 'hand', boarded the colossal creature and then it was gone.
I guess it sums up what happened there. Have I missed something?
Maurice asked, turning to the rest of the team.

Have breakfast, prepare to move out.
Oh, welcome back! I take your journey was successful?

Take an air sample. Label it, as always (and label other samples, if there are any unlabeled).
Get on the elevator. Examine it, focusing on the rails. Sit somewhere, if there is place for that. Admire the picturesque view of the Fall as we descend. Don't hang over the edge of the elevator, though, due to the risk of unbalancing it.

Remember/see how many poles Milno has, and how long are those.

Rest more.
