(( Well, I guess I half-expected that. In a twisted fanatical deluded sense, that's even more glorifying for him - now he shares the same uniform with the bloody convicts heroic comrades of his. New life, no regrets. All that nonsense ;)
Though it *might* be possible to sew some clothing from the materials provided by the armory master, just the way Milno got his shoulder-plate paintings. I'll have to look into that later. ))

(I suggest everyone who doesn't want to deal with the pervs just do what happened to Jim: get wrecked so bad you end up in a robot body. Hell, you could probably ask the doctor to do it for you - or the armory master for that matter, she'd probably be happy to. Then underwear doesn't even matter! Jim's not wearing any... in fact he's not wearing anything! :3)
(( No way! As for me, I'm practically longing for that kind of attempt - well, preferably executed by a female comrade. It's just... well, I promise it will be entertaining. Well, I will do my best at that, at least.
And no, not that way.
As for underwear - I'm wearing my uniform, so yes, I'm wearing my underwear. ))
((Underwear firmly on, thank you very much. Like you'd even get to it through what I'm wearing, unless our clothes get replaced with standard stuff.))
((They get replaced with standard stuff. The convicts theoretically leave the stasis pods naked and without their belongings. So yeah, standard clothing.
(( Really? Oh, what a pity. But I'm not so sure about this, actually. Many people have left the pods naked, sure, but it's not that piecewise have imposed this, I believe. *flipping pages* Nah, I can't find some of the first character posts, but the original five never had those, and I can't find piecewise declaring we leave the pods naked. Actually, some of us mentioned the specific clothing (brought from before joining the HMRC) we wear in the 'appearance' part of the sheet, and piecewise accepted those sheets without a word regarding that. Not that it means anything, yeah. :) ))

Smile as the exoskeleton reboots.
You know, Nick, I'm probably joining you in the next few moments. Oh, and just to make sure, does those LESHO rifles have a trigger I can pull, or are they fully operated by using that 'targeting and fire control computer''s inputs?
((@GM Okay, got it. Sorry, I didn't mean ill.
One more thing: does operating the aforementioned twin-linked LESHO rifles uses the conventional weapons skill or the auxilliary devices skill? I'm not sure to what degree the weapon is 'computer controlled' now. ))

(( @GM: how do you feel about adding the pilot profession to the list? Hacker, perhaps, or something like that - because, yes, fleshtechs can fill that role in a pinch, but I'm afraid their implied role is a bit different.
Or maybe giving the Mercenaries the option to choose auxilliary systems as their forte - you know, it would probably fit nicely with their improved intuition and overall idea of a mercenary pilot. After all, a pirate gang mercenary band does need someone to operate their spaceship/ground vehicle/aircraft/whatever, right?))

Get up. Shoot the monster if the weapon is ready, then enable the 'exaggerated movements' mode. If it isn't ready yet, try to dodge around (use 'exaggerated movements mode') until it is, disable that mode, then shoot, and enable it again.

3004
Gunner, definetly. I have a little trouble remembering how to operate the auxilliary craft. - Wait, is the weapon mount operated physically or is it more computer-controlled? Because if the latter, I will be of little use to you - I don't remember a thing about computers and overall non-weapon devices.
Also, I'm not sure what kind of 'hardware' you're making, but I would probably suggest making the design modular - so that the armaments can be purchased and installed independently.
Because otherwise you'd be in deep problem of having a great number of pre-defined variants - and believe me, that's a xenos hell of a headache to keep track of them all.

(( I wonder if Travis would still enjoy the VR that much or if he will forsake using it for the time being  ;) - either way it will certainly make for a good character development.
We'll see, I suppose.
@Orb Welcome to the HMRC! Enjoy your stay :) ))

Sure, Nick. Looks like this simulation will end pretty soon, for I underestimated the enemy as well as overestimated my Chimera Mk I gun. I will probably need to improve the Mk II a lot for it to be up to the challenge, but that'll be after helping with your simulation. Then he switches back to the mission channel.

Chimeras to C, AP rounds, overcharge! Repeat until the target is down!
This is likely our last stand, lads. Make the Magisters proud of their loyal men-at-arms!

Set the gun to fire mode C (all charging circuits routed simultaneously to the gauss rifle part), keep the gun being fed from the AP rounds magazine, and initiate powering up for the overcharge.
Meditate for a few seconds (or until the charge is ready), then, with the hopefully achieved tranquility of mind, fire at the monster.

3007
(( Well, I guess it's kinda easy to take me for a technician, with all that tinkering and all  :P
Also, just to make sure - are the bots firing, or not?))
Status report, team.
Fire at the monster once again (still in long pulses).

((This is not Milno looking for a very good excuse to take her down. He would never, ever think of such a thing. Of course.))
(( Well, yes, of course! Milno doesn't need such a trifle as an excuse. Because he's  the damn Honey Badger, after all. ))

3008
Five pre-defined different fire modes (custom are possible) plus the usual intensity/diffusion settings for the pulse part and the option to overcharge for the gauss part.
((Eh, I was talking about my other roll modifiers which were not shown, but I suppose were implied (+1 to conventional weapons from profession and +1 to endurance from 5 base points + 10 more from the sub-exoskeleton - and the differing range bonuses for the gauss rifle part and pulse rifle part, of course). Also, just to make sure - why is that -1 modifier from long range applied to the pulse rifle shots? I mean, those have the same range modifiers as the laser rifle shots ( +0 for long range, just checked), or is it that firing at that long range implies negative modifier regardless of the weapon range modifiers? ))
Take a deep breath, spend a few seconds concentrating on achieving tranquility of mind and fire at the monster again, in one long pulse.

3009
I'm afraid you're a bit wrong here, Nick - misled, actually. For some reason it's just maddening hard to use them here right now. The shaking ground, maybe?
But yeah, that was like the worst shot in my whole career. Tsk, I feel ashamed of it a bit. Never mind, I'll show better results after a couple of missions, when my skills return.

3010
((I take that the handicap is there because of my sprained back, right? Which I sprained because I had only 10 str instead of something-around-15 required to fire the 4x overcharge?
Also, just to make sure - this is the first time you show the roll modifier because you didn't feel like showing the positive ones, because it finally outmatched them (and it is actually -2 or 03) or, well, for no reason in particular? :) ))
Fire at the monster again.

3011
That's no problem, that's an opportunity to test the usefulness of my design. But yeah, I hope that too.
Actually, whatever the outcome, I already have a couple of ideas for even more enhancements, but those will have to wait until the end of this simulation.

Then he switches back to the mission channel.

>Chimeras to E, fire on the same target!
Grab the gun.
>Switch the chimera gun to fire mode E (all power to the pulse rifle part), get up and lean against the trench wall or something for steadier aim, then start firing at the monster in sweeps (four one-second sweeps, if precisely), in order to increase the chance of severing tentacles.

3013
Holy Magisters... Blasphemy!
Nikitian felt as the ice-cold hatred started to fill him, way more of it than his usual attitude towards the Altered provided.
If the weapon is ready, fire and command the team to do the same. Otherwise, screw the overcharge and proceed with the rest of actions.
Switch the chimera gun to fire mode E (all power to the pulse rifle part), get up and start firing at the monster in sweeps, in order to increase the chance of severing tentacles.

Chimeras to E, fire on my target!
Judge how far the monstrosity is and how fast it is advancing.

3014
((Is it advancing from our side or from the ranks of the Altered? Does the shadow look like one of our glorious Titans or, well, something else?
How big is the quickly clearing area, and how far away is the rest of the team?))
If there are any Altered advancing to engage me, shoot them (3 gauss rounds), otherwise just get into the trench, keep low profile and switch the chimera gun to fire mode C (4-circuits-simultaneously routed to the gauss part) and make it start powering up for the overcharge shot (with the AP ammo, of course).
Take cover and hide! Chimeras to C, AP rounds, prepare overcharge. At my command, bring the big one down!

3015
"Think I should check that disk out? It's just there, motionless. Probably exotic technology, not of our make."
(( Oh, and I was  starting to hope the rest of the mission will proceed smoothly, without any (more) casualties...  :P
On the other hand, you may be right and this will prove just an alien artifact - as usual, extremely dangerous, but worth some tokens and possibly a new weapon two or three missions from now. ))
