Wise choice of yours, comrade Milno.
Greiss out.

3032
No response. Pity.
See if there are entire systems which would also improve the reaction time (due to something like increased negative feedback, for example) - however, look for only those not involving synth-flesh.
Look for human size or few times that big cloth armor, worth up to 30 tokens.
Test how many four-circuit overcharge shots can a gauss rifle withstand, and reinforce the overall design if needed. See if something  can be done to increse the coils' durability, and how much would the spare coils for the current design be.

3033
See some other, more powerful exoskeleton systems available.
Look for for other pre-configured armor pieces, such as the fabled Civic Defender's Long coats.
Sip the tea.

Ahh, that is it. Now, to gamble...
Who would be the most token-rich comrade here? Obviously, the iconic Bastard - the Honey Badger, comrade Milno.
After drinking some more tea, Nikitian sent a message to the Milno's VR.
This is Greiss. Comrade Milno, care to have a small bet? On how many of the comrades are coming back from this mission.

((@GM Ah, okay. As for the document - so, I may just continue keeping track of it, or is there any other decision on your part?))
'Explode' the battlesuit, copy the armor sections, resize them as needed and mount on the 2x exoskeleton.
Run the simulation of how big (if actually possible) would 3x exoskeleton be.
Compare the prices and power outputs of the gauss rifle and gauss cannon power generators/charging circuits.

By the way, Steve, are there any organical nonhuman companions available? Something  like a dog or a non-Earth equivalent of a dog. Those alien lifeforms, when not fully sentient or self-aware, can sometimes be nearly as good as the animals from our ancestral homeworld. When properly trained, of course.
QUICKEDIT: Oh, I just remembered. Considering that deadpool, Steve, are we allowed to make bets outside it, specificly on the things not covered by it (such as 'how many limbs would a specific comrade retain after the mission' or something like that)?

(( Also, how do you think, people, should I go for Mk II suit/variation thereof, or just head straight for the Mk III with the built-in exoskeleton (which is actually cheaper than just purchasing an exoskeleton and a Mk II suit one at a time)? Probably aiming for the battlesuit (the basic or upgraded one) in the end, but the availability of these new 'baby-size' exoskeletons and the fact that I don't (or should I?) really need the mobility provided by the Mk III thrusters make the number of options here staggering.  :-\ ))

3035
(just do a quote post of what you want me to keep in the document and I'll keep it.)
((I have updated the post linked in my signature after completing that action - actually, I'm sort of still unsure whether I keep track of the document, you, or we both, so I just did my part and called it a day :)
Never mind the tests, I was just afraid you won't let me have that amount of raw power 'that easy' ;)
Actually, I've performed these tests for 5 and 7 circuits
-*here*-
As for the avatar being equivalent to 2x exoskeleton - well, I just don't trust those artificial semi-organics, as well as don't desire being 'semi-permanently entombed in a casket of CFC's with the majority of [my] nervous system slaved to the suit's systems' if that can be helped ;) ))
See if increasing the number of circuits from 5 to 6 does increase the penetration significantly, and, on the other hand, if lowering the number of circuits from 5 to 4 and then to 3 does not decrease the penetration too much.
'Explode' the AP gauss rifle shot to examine its structure.
Try replacing the standart exoskeleton in the Mk III suit and the battlesuit with the 2x one.

3036
(( Well, I'm sure Steve and the scientists will be able to brainwash them back into normal (or less so) state of mind. That or contain them like Faith and Ivan.
Failing either of those options... well, dismantle for other purposes, I'd guess - I mean, Steve needs new brain material over time, right? Still, I bet they'd be able to get the infected back into service, even if that means completely wiping their minds and personalities. ))

3037
((That was somewhat erotic. And now Jim infected Feyri.))
(( Yeah. Looks like we've finally got our own lovely psychotic 'Bonnie and Clyde' couple. I mean, now that Jim is also officially a yandere (even though courtesy of that mind-virus), they seem like a perfect match ;) ))

3038
I've got an idea, Nick. How about replacing the over-priced synth-flesh with something cheap and viscous? Oh, and making that layer much thicker, say, 100mm or more.
Extra usefulness if that way it would absorb more incoming radiation (thus lessening the amount and severity of 'assisted fission suntans').

3039
((Hmmm, actually, I meant 1/5th strength of the regular one and double the strength of the regular one; the tests were about whether an exoskeleton can endure that amount of raw power, or not. Also, I'll take it, I succeeded in updating the research results document.
Actually, piecewise, is it possible for me to update the document each time I finish a design in tinker - by default?))
Discard the 2/5x strength exoskeleton design, and try to build a 2x one. Use advanced materials if needed.
Test the 3-, 4- and 6-circuit-simultaneous-overcharge gauss rifle shots against a battlesuit (with and without the use of AP ammo). See if it is possible to reinforce the coils to withstand such powerful shots with the use of more advanced materials.

3040
Really? Hmmm, thank you for the information. Maybe I can benefit this way too.
Also, how do you think, about what should be the desired rate of fire for single shots? I mean, 5 seconds to recharge is probably too much, the enemy would have at least half a dozen tries at killing you before you get a second shot. But is 2.5 seconds time frame okay? Or should it be more like 1.7 seconds? Or perhaps 3.3 seconds would suffice?

3041
Glad to hear that! Say, Nick, could you then (sometime later, of course) devise an improved armor for our something 'battlesuit mk II' which would be using that stronger exoskeleton I'm working on? Oh, and it might also need some field generator, but I'm not sure who we can ask about that - 'cause I am, frankly speaking, not so well-versed in the ways of modern science.

Oh, and you asking Steve about your designs  - does that ever work, I'm curious? I mean, getting anything other than a fair amount of amusement with his wise and intelligent comments?

And one more thing: after you check the price, and if it's not too high, try increasing the thickness of synth-flesh layer. Perhaps then it will be able to withstand that cyber-tentacles' scratching. Never mind the idea if it increases the manufacturing price too much, however.

3042
Not like today, where every soldier is a walking weapon of mass destruction, and battles are won in moments. How primitive they were.
(( Propaganda lies! Spinal_Taper, remember about Hexbrax! It was pretty much trench warfare, according to the simulation!
Just kidding ;D :P ))
That shot thing...yeah fuck me. Not gonna be able to do that.
(( Pity :) Then, looks like I'll have to resort to the good olde method of guess it & test the guess in the field. ;) ))

Update the research data document, and back it up. ((I'll update it after this action is performed - you know, there can be sudden power outage, giant explosion killing everyone in the VR room and such. ))
Make two more exoskeleton designs - one with 1/5 strength of the regular one, and one with twice that strength. Perform various tests on the stronger variant, reinforce with stronger materials, if needed. Check its price.
Re-make the reinforced gauss rifle (able to withstand several-circuit-simultaneous overpower shot).

Hmmm,
Say, Steve, have there been instances of 'Corps' missions taking place in the middle of a full-blown military event?

3043
As for practicality...
... Actually, I have that creeping feeling we're soon getting into a warzone - I mean, real one, like Hexbrax, only not stuff of future history books. Perhaps not the next mission, and I really hope not the one after that. Call it premonition if you want. And there we'll damn need all these toys.
My only hope is that by the time that particular mission assignment comes, we'll have had enough time and tokens to build them. Oh, and that's why I really want to test them at Battle of Hexbrax simulation when they're ready. Something like MEHMRCMS, only with the Honey Badger being on our side, our team being of the whole mission size, and, of course, with the weapons and devices of our choice.

Say, Steve, have there been instances of 'Corps' missions taking place in the middle of a full-blown military event?

3044
Sure, no problem. As for the exoskeletons - that was part of the plan. Oh, and the bigger one... you know, for the bigger guns.
Something to level large chunks of fortifications without getting any 'fission assisted suntans'.

3045
Improving the pulse rifle design - here, see the schematics - and making more exoskeleton variants. A cheaper one, for starters, and a much stronger one - probably surpassing the strength of an Avatar of War.
Also, glad to hear you're doing that ballistic shield, I've thought of something like that, but apparently I have some misunderstanding of how the armor works. I mean, I sort of found that the ballistic suit is edible! Now, I doubt it, but looks like I'm not able to understand it. Hmmm, perhaps you could help me?
Oh, and there are some interesting features in the exoskeleton and the Mk II suit, but I haven't been able to find out which.
