When bodies and debris don't vanish.
I love it. I remember setting up custom bridge battles in Shogun Total War ( first one ) just to look at those beautiful carpets forming while my naginata defended the bridge supported by archers.

I would love to see more non-vanishing tank/apc/car/aircraft wrecks in RTS/FPS games that can be used as cover or can obstruct the field of fire ( of course i mean games where you can deploy multiple random vehicles not the predefined ones ).

Chapter Master - fan made turn based strategy where you control one of the Space Marine chapters in the WH40K universe.
Absurdly hard and amateur but fun as fuark.

Republic of China started the III World War by firing on NATO civilian shipping on Earth - Io colony route.

30 seconds after the confirmation about the attack entire NATO space defence net opens fire on Chinese navy orbiting the Earth, reducing it ( in less than a 2 minutes ) to the bunch of burned out husks and vast net of lifepods. Beside the 12 people killed onboard the civilian ship, no one get killed and only 2 of the OWP recieved any damage easily absorbed by armour.
PROTIP for AI : never start a war when all you have are missile ships at point blank range of an enemy with shitload of railguns, gauss cannons and mesons.

Sniper sentry ( in cowboy hat no less ) with Lee Enfield rifle and security turret vs 3 tribal savages with spears. One headshot and one turret salvo later - one savage dead, one dying and one fleeing.
Dead savage got chopped up by the Doc and his meat is going to serve as an emergency food source, the other one will be a walking organ donor.

- lack of good games remakes when shit franchises like Ass Creed or COD get a new game every year - i would fucking kill for a new Freespace, Darklands, Nexus Jupiter Incident and many many more but devs are too lazy to risk and try something new.
You say that, but imagine them being done by a modern mainstream studio. "Darklands One, now a Skyrim clone in the colonial US. Fight the evil British gremlins as a warrior, thief or wizard."

I think remakes should be done more of games that had innovative concepts but failed to some extent in execution. It's way easier to fail at recreating a great game than it is to make a meh game good, I feel.

Remake Twilight 2000, Mega Traveller, Millennia: Altered Destinies, X-Com: Apocalypse, Bureau 13, or Dominus. There's so much unrealized potential in these.

Divinity Original Sin was a huge success and despite how hard, complicated and old school it was... so its a risk but i say it would be awesome to remake those IP's instead of the next Ass Creed rehash.

any kind of "hard" content like sexual slavery, drugs, child killing, rape etc
Plenty of games have drugs (well, Fallout). I think I'm fine without the rest of that stuff.
Im talking about REAL portrait of drugs and drug usage not some magic pills that have some meager side effect when you "overdose" or get "addicted".

More peeve :
- Good = dumb and naive, ready to kneel and blow any random quest giver, bad = fuck you gib me moniez or i'll kill you im so edgy and bad i make razors seem dull with all my edge - in general i hate any kind of good/bad meter because its often completely arbitrary, stupid and artificial ( Fallout 3 was BAAAD at this, albo SW TOR is an example of the main peeve ) .

- lack of good games remakes when shit franchises like Ass Creed or COD get a new game every year - i would fucking kill for a new Freespace, Darklands, Nexus Jupiter Incident and many many more but devs are too lazy to risk and try something new.

Couple more :

- Absolute lack of any sexual content/life ( aka American rightwinger hypocrisy ) - your heroes kill hundreds of people, maim, wound and ruin countless sentient creatures but god forbids if someone fucks anyone, there is absolutely no nudity or any kind of sexual life even in RPG's. Also conservatards going complete apeshit over naked tits in game ( GTA SA Hot Coffee comes to mind or Original textures to Oblivion scandal )/ any kind of "hard" content like sexual slavery, drugs, child killing, rape etc and no one cares about those many murders you commit in often various horrible ways.

- unequal difficulty level - whole game is a cake walk but then there is this one boss/mission/something that amps the difficulty level by 1000 % and basiucally ruins the entire game ( often for completely illogical and pointless reasons ).

- time limits - i just fucking hate them ...

- "good and brave and lawful way is the only possible way " in RPG's - bonus points to irritation when the Bad way is technically possible but with so much fake difficulty and stupid shit that its simply not valid/fun ( looking at you Baldurs Gate ).

- lack of any bonuses for best times/ratings etc, lack of New Game +, lack of cheats - i hate the recent modern trend of putting awesome items/weapons/characters in paid DLC and all those things only giving you some shitty achievements that only attention whores care about..

- too much of a leap between difficulty levels aka Normal = too easy, hard= too hard ( im looking at you XCOM Enemy Unknown 2012 ).

Gaming Pet Peeves

Hoo boy...

Casualization ( Total War series ), scripts ( COD ), locking away the ability to mod the game ( hello Frostbite ), locking FPS/FOV, cutting away content and features ( again Total War ), making it simplistic and simpler ( Civilization ), coolest character is unromanceable/unfuckable ( Cheetah from GTA 5 for example ), day one DLC and patches, DLC in general, review emgargos, pre-order bonuses, rehashing plots/features/collectibles ( Assasins Creed ), quantity over quality ( Skyrim and its huge completely featureless and empty world comes to mind ), immersion breaking things like NPC insulting guy with shitload of weapons ( Fallout, Skyrim ), fantastic locations with no food source, water, defense etc ( again Fallout 3 and NV comes to mind ), 4 hour games/single player in name only for a full price ( again COD or BF )... and many many more.

Zombie pandemic decimated mankind.
Zombies rule over entire Europe, Asia, North and South Africa. They overrun South America and are making their way into Central and North America where USA ( with gigantci outbreak in Washington DC ) and Empire of Mexico ( with California outbreak ) are too weak to stop them...
Free of the zombie scourge are the vast jungles of Central Africa.... and Kingdom of Two Sicillies fortified on the south part of Itallian Penninsula and Sicily.
Workers have been mobilized, troops are trained in the new ways of combat thanks to the discovery of Bolt Action rifles and entire country is determined to endure this new threat.
Zombies number in the thousands outside front line in Apennine Mountains but they will never breach those defences.

For King and Country !! :D

My first Code Black -
Operation Vengeful Moon
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
.

Lost 3 soldiers ( see pic http://imgur.com/FJcMERA ), 2 more critically wounded ( five man squad ) but technically game counted that as a victory since i evacuated EXALT operative first....
With tutorials on this game has completely different pacing ( in all my games by the time i got that mission i had 2 x MEC Troopers ... and now Cyb-Lab is still under construction ) and its brutal as hell even on Normal :/

P.s. Vargas a.k.a. Arg-Heavy/Delta 2 died on second mission ;____:7

Fallout New Vegas (NEHEHEHEH) was good. It had Bethesda's thumbprints, but Obsidian at least had a good grip on it. If that caused a depression, I think you best avoid Fallout 4...
I don't mean to start a flame war or smth but i always wondered what was so super about F:NV....
Yeah the plot makes more sense ( considering the F3 "heights" in that matter it hardly a noble-prize worthy ... ) and few more things are improved but its the same old F3 with its shitty graphics, wooden voiceovers, stupid fetch quests, locations that make no sense ( no defences, no food supply, no sanitation etc ) and many many "cool" things by Bethesda...
And depression was mainly because i prepared myself for some ubershit epic adventure Fallout2 like and got F3 ver. 2.0...
Same principle applied to Alien:Colonial Marines, Empire Total War and few more ...

I think a non-american Fallout would be a bit of a shame
Non-american Fallout would have one huge advantage : complete freedom lore-wise. New factions, locations, history etc. Could be fun if it was to be made by some competent company.

Fablivion 3 ( i've made a promise to myself never to refer to that "thing" as Fallout 3 ) almost made me sick IRL, Fablivion New Vegas was one of the main causes of my depression few years ago  ....
I'm pretty sure that Fablivion 4 by Bethesdaslopworks is gonna kill me ....  :'( :-\

Good thing that EU4 in on the horizon and i always have DF and Aurora 4x...

Salt water, possibly?  I've noticed on some maps that salt water can still be present even if your embark site is close, but not directly adjacent to the ocean.
Well they did drink it during summer and spring ... And embark site i smack right in the middle of continent.
Little update : holy crap .... i just got 21 migrants ..... epic FUN incoming <3
And following them : legendary beast.............
