The reasons for the Primordial disappearance was that one the massive empire became to varied, two they stagnated tech wise, and three their lack of medical technology and the terrorism of some dissidents caused this area of the galaxy to be quarantined.

They're gone now and beside the drive tech, they were pretty primitive by modern galactic standards.

I'll make it more original and besides we are more advance then they were and they came from a different galaxy and this served as more of an outpost.
