UI: Because he explicitly stated he had a post coming here.

And do you think that holds true in light of the fact that the scum don't have a real NK?

I don't think I'm good enough to influence in what way people decide to kill me. Either you look scummy and you get lynched, or you look scummy and catch an attack or five in the night. How could you steer people towards one or the other?

Toaster: I might have figured out UI's ability that wasn't listed.

Web: If someone attempted to take an action, and it failed because the target was no longer valid, would that count as taking no actions for the purpose of UI's "Prime" ability?

Also, you still haven't claimed where the contested points on UI came from.
From the fact that he was SK.
You didn't know that.

What took you so long to claim? What's your name, what are your abilities called?

UI: Ohhhh, I see. I didn't want people asking me about why I didn't post. I didn't think to read it that way.

And what if he's a Jester? How would your Jester and Martyr play differ?

Dar: So you think ZU is scum, when he correctly claimed that you didn't go anywhere, correctly claimed Book's role, and claimed that I killed myself? (which could definitely happen)

Who do you think UI blocked N2?

2228
Extend.

Toaster: So you'd rather have you vote nowhere than on ZU, with less than 8 hours left at the time of this post? Why? Where do your suspicions lie?

UI: I don't follow. Covering for who?

Lesson time: Mafia Theory 101.

If you win by being nightkilled, the best approach is to antagonize the mafia - the ones who are guaranteed to be able to get you what you want. That is done by playing the best damn town game you possibly can. Trying to appeal to vigs runs the risk of getting lynched instead, and I have never seen a role that wins upon their death regardless of cause.

Anyway, while I agree that mislynches happen and are unfortunate, the fact remains that town's goal is to minimize them. By lynching scum. So I'll ask you again - why don't you care if he's scum or not?
Except that we both know that that is a load of crap. I'd be completely shocked if everyone in this game doesn't have sort of damaging ability. Which means that ZU wouldn't necessarily have to make himself a threat to the scum, he just has to make himself a compelling target in general. Hell, if anything, there's more town than scum, so he'd want to make himself look like an easy/scummy target so he takes shots from the majority. Does this seem unreasonable?

UI: Re: Your post (I hate big quote pyramids)

Quote from: UI
You're voting him despite the bolded part?
Yup. One is a win (lynch scum), one is unfortunate (lynch town), and one is almost inevitable (Jester, especially if he can win at night).
Quote from: UI
Why bring this up?
So that people don't go "Y U NO POST". It was late and I still didn't feel great.
Quote from: UI
You're still not actually trying to determine his alignment.
It's almost a moot point by now. He's either town and a big distraction, scum and the lynch is great, or Jester/Martyr and we may as well lynch and get on with it (I just hope he's not the kind that kills a voter if he's a Jester. What are those called, SuperSaint Jesters?). Sometimes people step in it so bad that not lynching them is almost not an option (I'm thinking back to NF's misclaim in RL4. He was town, but I'd make the same decision again without a doubt. This isn't as extreme, but the principle is similar)

Gotta lynch someone, and I think ZU is the best choice.
Quote from: UI
Maybe somewhere else, but on Bay12 they're third parties who win when they get NK'd.
Noted.

Quote from: PotL
So.

Why are you still not scumhunting?  You poked ZU a bit earlier, but that's it.
Mostly because I'm bad at D1.

Spoiler: STORY TIME! (click to show/hide)

So, that, mostly. And it was a hell of a day and I didn't get to make the post I wanted to make. Sorry.

I'll check in again before bed.

Well now, that's interesting.

Book: There's your SK. You happy now?

Dar: You really need to claim.

2234
Toaster: Thought so. And sure, it doesn't confirm both of their innocence, but by the same token it doesn't make them both guilty. One of you and OB might be scum, maybe you're both scum, maybe you're both town! I don't know, but ZU led us to believe that he did know. His actions and claims are premature and reckless at best, Jester play at worst.

Concerning "Vigilante Voltron": It's an interesting idea, if a little ambitious. Concentrating fire would make scum work harder for the kills they want, as they couldn't just ding someone for 1 or 2 and finish them off. At the end of the day, though, people are still going to shoot at whoever they think is acting scummy unless they have a compelling reason to do otherwise. And NF is right, massing fire on one target has its own risks: a reflect damage or feedback mechanic seems possible (Rammus comes to mind, for those of you who play LoL). A ZU lynch has risks, a ZU NK has risks, leaving him be has risks! (And I feel like I should thank you, I was thinking about your posts last night while I was winding down for the night and I think I finally figured out how to play early D1).

Shake: I thought Martyrs could just take a level in big damn hero and take a bullet/lynch for someone else.

Meeting now, more later.

I'm a fan of Liar's Dice, even if I'm no good at it when I'm drinking.
