sorry but i was wrong, after further investigation it seems that my svn client always downloads the latest source code. so i have no way of getting any earlier versions, at least that i know of. any help in obtaining the older versions would be appreciated.

Curses / where can i find the older versions of the source code?
« on: July 19, 2013, 04:27:26 am »
i want to do some modding to the game but when i use SVN it only downloads the latest version of the source code which has a few bugs and crashes that i am to stupid to know how to fix. how can i download the last stable, bug free version of the source code, which i believe is version 4.06.5?

i tried downloading the source code in the 4.06.5 thread but when i compile it it says on the main menu that it's 4.06.3 but maybe that's just an oversight and it really is the  4.06.5 version. does anyone know?

thanks in advance.

Curses / i would like to make a few suggestions
« on: July 17, 2013, 02:38:05 pm »
my programming skills are extremely conservative so i have no idea how to do it myself, but i think it would be a good idea to add stem cell therapy to the university hospital to heal all of the various special injuries like missing body parts and spinal injuries and such. it could be a future technology that only appears after a decade or two, and it would be hugely expensive (probably at least 1-2k per missing tooth/rib, 25k for missing limbs/organs and 50k for spinal injuries) so it won't be overpowered, but it will completely heal your liberals and restore them to their former glory. even further into the future (maybe 50 years or so) there could be some kind of age reversing therapy that makes you young again. that way you can keep your top liberals young forever.

another suggestion i have is an indoctrination activity that your liberals can engage in consisting of watching "democracy now" and reading the fine published works of elite liberal intellectual titan noam chomsky. this will slowly raise heart until it maxes out, and slowly lower wisdom until it reaches its lowest level. this would be a prolonged process that takes several months at the minimum. if you have money to spare, the same results can be achieved quicker by taking the "a brief history of radical marxist feminism" class at the university.

what do the rest of you think?

Well you know what they say. If you let a monkey hit random keys on a keyboard long enough, he'll eventually write the complete works of shakespeare.

Well, it appears as if my conservative programming skills have fucked the game up. There seem to be a few bugs and the game crashes sometimes. I have no idea what the problem is. That'll teach me, i suppose. I don't suppose someone with more liberal programming skills would be willing to take a look at the code to identify the problem? If anyone feels up to it let me know and i'll upload the sauce code.

Well, if the liberal cybernetic implants help to deflect conservative bullets, then why not? Not only that, they give you liberal amounts of intelligence, with which to learn liberal skills , strength, with which to liberally smite evil conservatives, agility, with which to more accurately gun down conservative swine, charisma, with which to dispute conservative talking points and make conservatives see the liberal light, and finally, health, with which to better survive conservative wounds. The ends justify the means.

Curses / my mod (based on deon's mod)

So i decided to try my hand at modding this awesome game. It's basically the same as deon's mod except for a few changes i made. They include both xml editing and source code mods, and are:

*  Cyborgs and augmented NPC's now have random political alignment, so they can be either conservative, moderate or liberal. In deon's mod they were always conservative.

* Added a locksmithing class to the university so your liberals can learn the security skill.

* Added the ability for your liberals to make all the armours in the game, including army and heavy.

* Changed the way teaching other liberals works. Normally, student liberals can only learn up to the teachers skill -1. So if the teacher liberal had a 5.00 skill in rifles and taught other liberals to shoot they could only learn up to 4.00 in the rifle skill. Now they can learn as much as their teacher.
