I live in Stone County Missouri, I am a twenty year old male on a Drug Court Program.  I could potentially have felonies on my record if I mess up my program. That's all well and good.

But this.
This is the law enforcement branch in my area.  I know Deputy Jenkins PERSONALLY.  I thought he was a nice guy.  Check out that video. Tell me what you think.

Yeah, solid waves of enemies are generally more !!Fun!! than scattered ambushes and camps.

Capable of murder, yet totally innocent sexually.  How cute. :P  And Lord of the Flies-esque.

My forts progressing, lots of hematite and native copper, as well as gold and aluminum, just in the above ground volcano levels.  A caravan arrives.  :) Yay.  An ambush, curse them!  Uh, shit.  Okay, maybe the caravan guards can...
Holy shit.  The guards DESTROYED the goblins effortlessly. But the caravan won't trade with me.
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-
I'm beginning to design a new trap for the goblins, with repeating wooden spikes, for maximum pain.

Will the moat actually fill with blood or would we have to pretend?  I'm pretty sure murky pools get refilled by normal rain.  I've seen the screenshots with blood covered fields, but does it add up over time, or do you just get 'A coating of mountain barbarian blood'?

Yes, eventually bogeymen lose their fear factor.  Then they become what they truly are...  Delicious delicious walking experience that appears rather reliably.

On a side note, when you have multiple legendary skills, peasants start saying, 'Only a legend like you can travel at night, I'd get torn apart by the bogeymen.' Oh.  Well, I'm going to go hunting bogeymen.  I don't even need a quest now...

When you say something is interesting, I get this strange image of Chase from House with a clipboard in a Weyland-Yutani facility next to a gore covered window.  Its awesome and disquieting at the same time.

I like that.  It gives the place a nice feel.  Oh, maybe that's what the mugs are for!  Bailing blood out of the well. And the moat. Wait, moat of blood? Note to self, moat of blood... :)

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: Wall in the madness

Yeah, two masons will take forever to build even a small-ish wall. Slave peasant labor makes things go considerably faster.

Almost exactly as you did, friend. TV Tropes still has me in its grips, along with the SCP Foundation, OotS, XKCD, Goblins, ALP, Darths and Droids, and numerous others, but now the majority of my internet time is spent here, in the bastion of Dorfyness.

This is an artifact website.  It menaces with spikes of cat tallow.  It has hanging rings of acceptance and toad bone.  On this item is an image of a Dwarf in adamantite.  The dwarf is laboring.  The image relates to the founding of Dwarf Fortress by the expedition leader Toady One the Great. On this item is an image of many humans and a dwarf in silver.  The humans are surrounding the dwarf.  The dwarf is making a demure gesture. This image relates to the praising of the dwarf Toady One the Great by the human community of Bay12.  On this item is an image of a computer within a computer in obsidian. The image relates to the achievements of the human community of Bay12.

And they're wicked fast. All the races have advantages.

Most definitely not. I have been swarmed by em as a vampire.  It just makes fighting them significantly easier, you don't have to worry about passing out from pain, just bleeding to death and getting insta-killed.

Dwarf Fortress: Our AI will rip your pants off and BEAT YOU TO DEATH WITH THEM. Still wanna play Halo?
Dwarf Fortress: What do carp, giant sponges, elephants, ravens, dingoes, and alligators have in common?
Dwarf Fortress: The baby punches the titan in the head, shattering the skull and tearing the brain. The titan has been struck down. Seriously.

DF General Discussion / Re: DF Talk: Playstyles and You

I'm kind of an all three guy.

Gamist: I like being able to 'win', but DF already provides small scale 'wins' all the time.  I killed that whole camp! The magma isn't leaking! But I don't know what a good Win condition would be without limiting the game.

Simulationist: I love it when I get a migrant missing an eye (true story), or when one of my dorfs complains cuz she had to feed a patient in the hospital.  It makes them real to me, and it makes DF immersive. I'd love it if my engraver engraved pictures of his favorite things all over his room, and then more generic stuff in the hall, and battles in the barracks.

Constructionist: It is my new life goal to make a massive Above/Below ground fortress with huge towers and a mighty temple surrounded by multiple ring walls and moats.  Currently, that's a bit beyond my ability, but its part of the challenge of Dwarf Fortress for me.  Can you build a functioning fortress?  Can you build an aesthetically pleasing fortress?  Can you build a City Fortress with color coded districts and mosaics in the walkways?  If not, well losing is fun, and trying again is even funner.
