Actually I think ours are red Hornets. And we also have some Tarantula Hawk Wasps here. They're relatively peaceful, but I'm hypervigilant about them.

... we have red wasps here in MO and I can assure you quite confidently that they are in no way "chill little dudes".

Murder-hearted flying expressions of God's infinite and unending malice and hate of the living is a more accurate description.

I just found out I've been running only 1.2 miles and I'm somewhat disappointed. I did it in 10:39 today, a reduction of 26 seconds but... I thought it was closer to 2 miles. Now I gotta add to the route and run much faster.

Running advice? I try to run on the balls of my feet, head up, arms and back engaged but not really moving much. And I do deep, single breaths.

Resist the urge to start doing silly shit like handstand pushups, the wrist strain vs potential workout from bodyweight is a garbage tradeoff. I used to enjoy walking on my hands a lot, then I started noticing I'd wake up in the morning and I could just roll them back and forth to produce an audible KRPOP so I stopped doing that so much.

Same with pushups, after a while you're only really getting tiny amounts of muscle building vs joint and tendon stresses because it's easy to trivialize bodyweight for lots of workouts, but you can do stuff like freeweights, pulley resistance, and so forth to go after parts of those muscle groups which just kinda sit around being bored during pushups. Used to have a fairly obvious pigeon-chest so I set about figuring out how to cover it with muscle when I was really young, got normal looking pecs now but I had to move to weights to actually build them out enough to get there since I wasn't heavy enough for pushups to do shit despite doing all the different stances, centered together, way out past shoulder width, above or below my shoulder height, was nice arm work for a while but that don't help with the sternum bumps dammit!

I did get a bit of a noticeable gain for a while when I was doing those uh, the fucking weird marine ones where you go from like a yoga pose with your ass up and legs straight then slide forward like you're going under a low bar and pressing your torso back towards vertical with your hips down low at the end before reversing... can't remember the name, sunrises or sunups or some shit maybe?

Gotta do them slow as you can manage without shaking and it's a pretty awesome exercise to toss in there.

Now I'm happy I can relax and maintain the shit I built up as a nutty kid and teenager.

Yeah, I'm only still doing absurd amounts of pushups because I haven't got freeweights yet. I'll still do some after I get weights but just enough for minor cardio and to keep form. And I just do plain, shoulder width, ninety degree then raise pushups. No fancy shit. I need muscle fast, not a circus routine.

310 pushups today. I'm a... A... Fuck idk, I can do a lot of pushups and stuff.

My arms feel noticeably more defined.

127
Two fiddy in 8 hours.

Go for 300? Y/N?

128
I can do a two minute extended arm plank then do five pushups.

I can't get up, but I can do that ^
Mercy kill plz

129
I mean, I've been struggling to do 1 1/2 but all I can say is persistence.  Try to do a pull up. Fail. Try again after awhile. Fail again. Eventually step two becomes "Holy shit try another one quick while the soul of Achilles still occupies you."

Maybe do weighted workout targeting the muscles that enable pullups. What is that, trap, bicep, deltoid a bit, and forearm?

Meanwhile in Hans' Calisthenialand I'm working on elbow and palm planks to tone my back and core some, more running, crunches, a few pull ups and curl ups, and as always a neverending tide of pushups. At this point, after a rest day I can do 230-260 over the course of a day. Approximately 30 easily.

131
Meanwhile in entirely different news, I've just finished a beer- and energy drink-fuelled all-night PuBG sesh and I feel oddly fulfilled.
I think... I think I will sleep now.

*cradles Yoinks head in his lap*

Ssssh, rest now weary adventurer.

Ran ~2 miles in 11 minutes 6 seconds. I can do an elbow plank for 2min30, up right plank for 2 minutes. I can do 2 entire chin ups barely. And 200 pushups a day is getting easier.

133
Exercise is back on track. Already blasted through 100 pushups in five sets an hour apart.

You play Dwarf Fortress... How can you claim not to be a nerd?

Does he, though? There's a lot of people here just for lower boards and Forum Games/Roleplaying. S'like saying the janitor at a fitness center is just another swolemate.

I haven't in... Several months. And usually it's just Arena or Adventure mode. I've started a couple forts but can't get into them because I don't minecarts or new stuff well.

Same with Urist McStation. Too much new stuff.
