DF Modding / Demons and Heads of State
« on: March 13, 2013, 01:12:10 am »
Something has struck me being rather odd. In the vanilla game, any civilization can be ruled by demons. However, it seems as though goblins are always ruled by demons. In mods, such as Fallout Equestria and Rise of the Mushroom Kingdom, there are entities that are also always ruled by demons. However, there's no token anywhere that allows for this to work. The closest  I'v found is in ROTK a religious noble appoints the monarch of that demon ruled civ. Sadly this isn't replicated in the vanilla game or in any other.

Does it have something to do with the ethics? Or is there a possible religious connection in the pantheon of a civilization's religion?

DF Modding / A Novel Possibility of Stemming the Immigrant Tide

I'm feeling like Sander Cohen for some reason this morning. The idea I present to you is this. Take dwarves, particularly from the soapmaker and fishing classes, and turn them into something more useful. Something everyone can enjoy. Turn them into works of art that would rival the boring old stone statues.

DF Modding / The Filthy Job That Must be Done: Butchery

This is a quick question before I rush off to breakfast and then my final.

Will suitably modified entities butcher invaders and the corpses of their own people? I've been in a fairly macabre mood and I want to run a fort where bone and leather are used in place of metal, wood, and stone.

DF Modding / Regarding Civilizations of Egg Layers and Grasper Tails
« on: November 23, 2012, 12:40:25 am »
So, I'm aiming to mod in a lizardman race. One of the things I'm wanting to add in is having them be egg layers. I did a bit of brief searching on the wiki (where I thought I had read about this already) and a brief once over search on the forums for egg laying civs and I can't seem to find the answer to this question.

Is it possible to have a playable egg laying race, and if so would they require nest boxes for reproduction, or am I better off just having them give live birth? If there's any sort of egg laying option I'll take it, live birth is firmly in the realm of last resort.

Also to give them tails with graspers on them, would I have to create a new body plan or what would I have to do? Up until now I've mostly just been mucking around in creature files, I haven't even looked at those yet. Raws would be appreciated, but I'm not asking for them specifically, just the steps I'd have to go on to do it.
