+1 to everything NAV said, except, we should use our combined tactics. It's only a marginal reduction in coordination, and the ambush is sooo worth it. It's our peak naval tactic!
Yeah, I guess. The revision was somewhat successful and ambushing has helped us so far even when not ideal ambushing scenario. Changing the plan.
Also adding giving a few aethersilk vests to TC defenders.

Buy 1 topaz trim web and put it in storage. We can give it to the Anguis later without paying any refit cost.
Buy 4 topaz gauntlets and give them to Royal Heavy Squad. Take 4 gauntlets from Royal Heavy Squad and give them to Marine Unit 6.
Buy 4 aether gauntlets and give them to Marine Unit 3.
Buy 1 mobile cover.
Train 6 comm officers. Give 5 of them to our remaining skiffs to help with coordinating fire. Give a comm officer to Mercury.
Buy 2 units of spare grenades.
Buy 8 aethersilk vests.

Load royal heavy squad, sniper squad, prototype mobile cover, 2u of grenades, and a crate of medals onto the Mercury.
Load marine units 3 and 6, and a mobile cover, and 12 aethersilk vests onto the Artemis.
Giving the slightly better transport more valuable cargo but still not putting all our eggs in one basket.

Send the entire fleet to Three Captains.
The skyskiff "One-Eyed Will" will act as our scout and fire coordinator.
Royal Anguis, Ophidian, Natalie, and 5 normal skiffs will use our new aerial ambush + coordinated fire fleet tactics.

Mercury and Artemis dock and unload their troops and cargo.
Give the remaining defenders at TC some grenades, 2 per person (since there are 2 squads worth of grenades being given to 2 half squads).
Give the members of marine unit 1b and heavies without aethersilk vests an aethersilk vest. Should be about 12 vests.
Also give every defender a medal.

Royal Heavy squad will lead the advance and try to take most of the fire with 2 mobile covers.
The rest of the marines will follow behind taking advantage of the mobile cover's shroud or existing natural cover and providing as much covering fire as possible.
Everyone use defensive fire tactics. The main goal is to get close enough to throw some grenades and destroy their cannons.

We are ready to go this year and have very little to gain by waiting.

Royal Topaz?

To The Pit. Try to go to the least busy side of the pit.
Sacrifice the music hatchet and bolo for a tier 2, sacrifice the vomit frog shotgun, wand of hearts and horseshoes, and ravaged friend gauntlet for a tier 3.
Anyone who tries to interfere gets you know incinerated by fire breath and deafened by a chainsaw and slashed by a chainsaw and slashed by a katana by a dancing grape golem.

Why haven't we made the loot pit a safe/neutral zone yet?
I'm pretty sure the pit is there to encourage conflict.

We need more than one mobile cover because we have multiple squads to protect from multiple cannons. Cheapening it should also make it lighter and more mobile and effective.

We need to have a dedicated covered advance tactic to use it effectively, at least on the offensive. Mainly to protect our marines from the idiot ball.

I fully support coordinated fire+ambush tactics revison for the reasons you said. It might be reaching the upper limit of what tactics we can have with our current command structure.

Trying to revise a flintlock from a matchlock is like than trying to revise your first machinegun from a bolt action rifle.

I guesss....just wanna get a headstart on the navy and islands.

General Discussion / Re: [Ye] Welcome to the bunzone nerd! (Happy thread)

My girlfriend brought her cat to our apartment. He name is chloe. She is a very good cat. Chloe kept us up all night because she was meowing nonstop and there was a loud party next door until like 5 am, I got barely an hour of sleep. Woke up early the next morning. Had three coffees and a muffin. Went paintbballing in a rainstorm all day. Didn't bring a change of clothes. Hitchhiked and walked and bussed home, took a few hours, got hypothermia. Had a long warm bath. Ate a steak and drank some rye whisky. Excellent day. Now I am ill and sore everywhere.

Some equipment would still be lost or destroyed in battle but that would probably help.

Edit: I really like helmacon's three revision plan, but the grenade bolt 2nd try should be postponed to fix the mobile cover if it ends up having any serious flaws.

A good lander is too big to accomplish with a revision. Cannala managed to revise their walrus, but they rolled a six and Sensei said it would have completely failed with any lower roll, and that he should have given it a complex tag anyway.

Maybe we could try to steal their walrus with a revision since it's a boat and we did make naval gains this turn?

[2] Mobile Cover (3 dice, 9c, 6o, 21w) + bank 3 dice : Kashyyk, NAV
Ideally and most likely we can send our attacking force this turn. With no grenades left our marines won't accomplish that much even with prepared bait and strike so the sooner we reinforce them the better.

We could spend up to 2 of those 3 banked dice on developing one of the special projects. I am leaning heavily towards the mist dissipator. We should definitley keep the last die for fixing any flaws THE WALL has.
