Lukas turns to the new guy and says "Look, I think you should listen to Bishop here, because I don't feel comfortable having you walk around the ship with that thing either, being somewhat of a machine myself." Lukas then turns to Bishop. "What about a compromise? He gives that thing to the armory master and can only get it back right before going on missions. If he wants to play around with it he can just go fuck around in the VR or something."

Go watch the fight and cheer for Robro Jim.

After silently listening to a stranger giving him a very, very brief summary of what happened while he was gone and observing what was going in the Rec room Lukas attempted a robotic shrug and said to himself "just another day at the HMRC." Lukas wandered over to where Mesk and Bishop were sitting and pats Mesk on his shoulder. "Hey! What's up with the weird regeneration stuff. You had some kind of medical breakthrough while I was updating?
((Bishop is in the gym.))

((K, Mesk is still there I hope? I couldn't keep track of everything :P))

((Cool! I'm in.))

Lukas stands up and goes to the rec room to see who is there.

...99.997 percent, 99.998 percent, 999.999 percent, 100 percent. Lukas' systems finally start up again after going through a seemingly endless update. He looks around to see where he is. He remembers being in the infirmary before starting his update but maybe the doctor moved him.

"Ugh, what...What did I miss? Lukas asked no one in particular.

Inspect surroundings

((Hi folks! Back online again after three weeks so I guess I missed a lot? Did we already start a new mission?))

383
((@Pyrodesu

About your avatar: I remember I always played that guy in Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri. He's from the scientist clan or something, right? It has been a while since I played. Awesome game :)))

((Okay, this is the last day I'll be online before being offline for (I expect) about three weeks.))

While Lukas was resetting his VR, an error message popped up. Error! Genocide.dll not found! Lukas ended the simulation. "Huh? What is this shit? I better ask the doctor for an update of my software." Lukas exits the VR and heads to the infirmary to find the doctor. This is probably gonna take a while (hint, hint!).

385
((Meh, I liked Spinal_Taper's answer better ;)))

386
((Milno may act as an asshole all the time but yet again he drags his teammates to safety.))

387
((Wow, love is in the air at Bay12.))

Lukas resets the simulation so he can use his bullseye-mode and particle cannon again. He then spawns an idle tank a few hundred meters away from him, digs in and charges his particle cannon again.

Do the above

388
((Why not a sea cucumber?))

389
((Antlions.))

((Right! Although after checking wikipedia to see the actual thing they look a little bit different from how I imagined them.))

((On topic, isn't firing from the high ground a better option than waiting for whatever to get you to come up? And...about the anomalic properties of heat and light, could someone touch someone else and feel if they're generating heat?

That would clear up the exact time of stability of temperature-based explosions.))
((There is no high ground, as far as I'm aware. The pits are essentially flat.

And heat works normally as far as we've seen, it's just that combustion doesn't. If the grenades operated solely by becoming hot, they'd work fine; but since they presumably have an explosive (meaning burning) component, most likely they won't.

Then again, I have no idea what's in those things.))

((Did anyone here ever play SimAnts? I picture the thing in the pits as being more or less the same as the insect that drags your ants into a hole in SimAnts. Dunno what they are called.))
