Go to the Rec room and link up to VR. Get that scenario with the Great Plains in 21st century US going again, but this time don't spawn an altered but spawn the little girl from the punch-many-things program a few hundred meters away from Lukas (Ha! try to poke my eyes now, you little bitch!)

You set up the simulation as stated.

Lukas observes the little girl as he digs himself in at his current spot. "No more eye poking for you, you little bitch!" Lukas charges his particle cannon.

Thats that steven king book about a Mist full of monsters right? Not really. To be honest it's inspired almost totally by a dream I had combined with a recent rereading of the book "Blind Decent"

((Yeah, that's the one I mean. I only saw the movie, but some elements of this world reminded me of the book (well, it was a long shot actually but I couldn't resist asking). For example, the tall beings you described (sorry, I forgot their name) reminded me of some creature I saw in that movie and the mist also represented another dimension. It was low budget but i really enjoyed it. Especially because of the bad ending, where the hero shoots three of his friends in the head to save them from a more horrible death, only to find out it wasn't really necessary only a few minutes later. How often do you see that in a movie? Anyways, another thumbs up for your storytelling. It's addictive reading.))

Bishop huffed and looked strangely relieved.

"Well done, you just saved your life and spared yourself considerable discomfort. I don't really WANT to kill you, I'm a pretty nice guy all things considered, I just felt obliged to is all. And just so you know, being killed by me should be a good thing compared to the stuff we'll run into on a mission."

He nodded and stood upright again.

"You also make a good point. We all make mistakes, it's only human to do so. Consider the slate wiped clean between us, just make sure not to make too many stupid decisions in the future, our lives are on the line after all. Now I'm off to talk to an actual doctor about a possible treatment for my visions. See you later."

Head back to see the doctor about possible fixes for my visions. Also ask if there's anything he can do about increasing reaction times.

((Hey, just returned from my trip. I learned about Thrak's end. I don't feel good about it . How's the mission going? Any permadeaths yet? [Too lazy to read 20+ pages right now]))

After the doctor fixed the damage that Lukas incurred during his battle to the death with Thrak he went back to grab his weapons and put them back in his locker. In his way over to the locker he kept replaying his battle with Thrak in his thoughts. He felt relieved that he was still alive but at the same time he felt uneasy about the fact that he just killed a teammate. He didn't know what the others would think. Did they even know about what happened back there?

After putting his weapons back in the locker, Lukas walked back to the infirmary to see if he could find the doctor.

Thats my last post for tonight. Y'all get one more post before I huck you in the pods, so make it good.

((PW, I wanted to remind you that I will be gone for four days from tomorrow and I won't be able to post. Maybe Caellath wants to help me finish the fight with Thrak and after that Lukas should recover for a few days? - if he wins, of course. Otherwise, there won't be a problem...Other than this empty space in my heart ))
